Anything goes at Sweet Stampin'

Well, that's it...Christmas over for another year...all That preparation and anticipation and it's over in a flash, still it's all worth it when you get to spend time with your loved ones! It was extra special this year being Emily's first Christmas there's something so wonderful about having a baby around at this time of year! I did get a bit told off for spoiling the granddaughters but that's what they're for!!!:)
I hope everyone else had a magical Christmas too!
I'm a bit late posting my DT card for Sweet Stampin', amongst all the other lovely gifts I received Santa (or some other germ -ridden person) gave me a head cold! So I'm feeling woolly and slow and didn't get up 'til late!
The challenge this week is 'Anything goes' so as long as you include some stamping you can enter anything you choose! There's a prize of a £15 voucher from our very generous sponsor Crafty Devils for the lucky winner!
For my card I used this very beautiful Fairy Tangle image by Norma J Burnell.
So much fun to colour! I so enjoyed not making a Christmas card!
Thanks for visiting and all the wonderful and encouraging comments you have left for me over the past year. I wish you all a happy and healthy 2015

Peace on Earth

Good evening (night!?) my lovely friends. Here's a very quick post from me to wish you all a wonderful Christmas, filled with joy and surrounded by the people you love best! I, personally, am looking forward to spending Christmas day with my children, their lovely partners and my gorgeous granddaughters. It's an extra special time for me as it's Emily's first Christmas.
My card is made using a beautiful new release image from The East Wind, as soon as I saw it I had this design in mind (or something similar :) I coloured the angel with my copics.. I wanted to keep it very light and simple so I used shades of cool grey and very pale green. I was sooo tempted to add glitter to her wings, but managed to resist! There's plenty of glitter on the rest of the card!:)

Sorry about quality of photos, terrible light today!
I hope you like it because this is my wish for you all ...Peace and Joy!
Have a wonderful Christmas

The most wonderful time of the year!

Good morning! It's time for a new challenge at Southern Girls, the theme is an easy one this time 'Christmas' so we hope that lots of you will join us to show off those last minute Christmas makes! We have two lovely sponsors for this challenge, Marianne Design and  the fabulous Rick St Dennis who generously allowed us to choose an image to use...you wouldn't believe how long it took me to choose.... eventually I decided on this gorgeous digistamp North Pole Sign available here.
I printed the image twice and coloured one of them with my copics and added loads of glitter to the snow and icicles. I coloured the bear from the second image and shaped him with a ball tool to add some dimension, then adhered him with pinflair glue directly over the first image, he looks quite cute and fat IRL! As you can see it's a very simple design with just a few die cut snowflakes added.
Thanks for visiting
I hope everyone's preparations for the Big Day are going well!

Non - traditional Christmas Colours at Creative Moments

There's a new Design Team badge on my sidebar, I have the honour of joining the lovely and talented ladies at Creative Moments Challenges!
My first DT card for this fabulous challenge is made using this adorable stamp, Skating polar bears from this fortnight's generous sponsor - Jellypark. The challenge theme is non-traditional Christmas colours. I chose to use black/cream/bronze. The design is quite simple to focus on the image, which I have coloured with copics, die cut with a circle cutter and part fussy cut to layer it onto the black 'snowy sky', the snow is created with frantage. It's then matted onto embossed cream cs with a bronze glitter frame and mounted onto a black card base. I added a couple of die cuts and a few gems to finish.
Thank you for visiting today, I know how busy everyone is at the moment! I hope you can find the time to hop over to Creative Moments to enjoy the lovely creations from my new teamies! It'd be great to have you play along this challenge, the last one for 2014!

Oh Christmas Tree

Good morning, how is everyone today? Feeling relaxed and festive???
Here's another Christmas card, this time for the new challenge at Sweet Stampin', and yes you've guessed it, the theme is 'Oh Christmas Tree',
this week we're sponsored by
with a prize of an online class.
I was going to make a beautiful and elegant card with a magnificent and majestic tree...but then I remembered this QKR image I hadn't used yet....I think this bear is gorgeous, proudly bearing home his tree -a real macho hunter-gatherer- provider for his family!:)
The bear is coloured with copics, the papers are a random mix from  my stash. There's a row of masked off trees along the bottom edge. I added a stamped sentiment, some diecut trees (MB) and some holly sprigs.
Thanks for calling by, hope you find time to join us this week now that all your Christmas preparations are finished ;)
just click here to be transported to Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog where you can check out the beautiful creations from my teamies, and of course add your own!
Hope you enjoy a nice relaxing weekend!

Emily's first Christmas

Hope everyone's having a good weekend so far and finding a little time to relax in between rushing around preparing for the Christmas festivities! I still have loads to do but today I'm taking 'time out'!
This is the card I made for my beautiful baby granddaughter's first Christmas, she's 7 months old now and an absolute delight! Her lovely Mummy loves hand made cards (and keeps them...forever!) so I hope she'll be pleased with this one!
The cute baby is 'Kai in the Snow' another fabulous Mo Manning image, which I've coloured with copics, the snowflakes are various die cuts, the papers are Papermania.

Let it Snow!

Good morning! I don't really want it to snow, it causes too much havoc in the UK we just can't cope with it here! It's just the theme of this weeks challenge at Sweet Stampin'. sponsored by Quixotic Paperie. My card is quite a simple design this time, a tent fold card blank with a rectangle of DP adhered, then 3 embossed fishtails layered over it. The image is a freebie digi I acquired ages ago, sorry don't know where it came from but thanks anyway, coloured with copics, some snowflakes and bling.
There's some lovely work from the DT to be seen over at Sweet Stampin', so why not hop over and take a peek! We'd love to see your snowy creations too!

Let's Face the Music

Hello my lovely blogging friends, I hope you're having a good day and looking forward to the weekend. As today is Friday it's time for a new challenge at Delicious Doodles., which brings me to some very sad news  -the Delicious Doodles Shop will soon be closing!! Please click here to read Teri's announcement and explanation of why she is having to close her Blog Shop. the only saving grace is that at least it will still be possible to purchase her beautiful work! Her images are amazing and so wonderful to colour!
This week the Challenge  theme is Let's Face the Music- Dance. For my card I used the fabulous image, Venetian Beauty which you can find here here. I coloured here with copics and fussy- cut her out. The clock is a Tim Holtz die cut, the musical notes are Memory Box. I stamped the mask onto black card and embossed it in gold and added a couple of feathers ,the stick is a cocktail stick painted gold and wrapped with black ribbon . She's off to a Masked Ball to dance the night away!
We hope you find the time to join us this week (while you still can!), there's loads of wonderful inspiration from Team A to be seen here!
Enjoy your day

Celebrate with the Southern Girls!

Good morning, come celebrate with the Southern Girls, today sees the start of our 100th Challenge! The theme is 'Celebrations' - so a lovely wide scope for everyone to join in! We have two fabulous sponsors, the Retail Girl and Lacy Sunshine. I chose to use this cute image (courtesy of Lacy Sunshine- thank you) she's called Ladybug Lyndsey Buggmee and you can find her here. I coloured her with my trusty copics , then layered her onto the flower shape which is in turn attached to a tent fold card. The 'petals ' and black background cardstock have been embossed with a Swiss dots embossing folder. The die cut vine is Memory Box and the sentiment stamp Paper Smooches.

I added a tad of glossy accents to the ladybirds around the image, some stickles to her wings and a little wooden ladybird to finish. I apologise for the poor photo...it's been  so gloomy here that the light has been bad for days!
We really would love it if you joined our celebrations by sharing your own lovely creations with us!

Christmas sparkle

Good morning, a new week, the last in November ! I've been busy making Christmas cards, why do we always need so MANY! I've tried to be sensible and make quick and simple ones without coloured images but it's not easy! Anyways I couldn't resist colouring up this gorgeous image which I was lucky enough to win from The East Wind Challenges (thank you!). I really wanted to have a go at colouring this amazing hair! Next time I colour it I'm going to try multi-colours!
I followed this sketch from Sketchy Colors Challenge.

Happy Birthday Sweet Stampin'

It's time to celebrate!!!  Today is Sweet Stampin's 5th Birthday and we'd love for you to join in the fun! Just make a card with a reference to Birthdays on the front (and some stamping, of course:)! Easy, huh?
For my card I used my old favourite 'Ruffled Bloom ' stamp from Stampendous! I've used this so many times and never get bored with it. I stamped the image twice onto some blue DP, shaded  a bit with a pale blue copic, and fussy cut them out . One I mounted onto a faux embossed kraft tag along with a die cut leaf. The other I cut up and placed randomly on another piece of DP. I hand cut the 'happy birthday tags and attached them to the larger tag with a piece of tulle. The tiny kraft flowers were added to finish.
We really hope you will join us to celebrate this special birthday, we have sponsors offering lovely prizes as an extra incentive to spur you on- there's a £10 voucher from Wild Orchid Crafts, and a £15 voucher from Crafty Devils -so what are you waiting for, pop over to Sweet Stampin' now, check out the fantabulous creations from the DT, there's a lot to look at this week as both teams have joined in -and we have some amazingly talented new teamies who would love a visit from you!

Christmas fairy

Whilst on holiday a couple of weeks ago, I spent some relaxing hours colouring images, after all there's only so much you can do outside in November in England, especially when it's cold and wet and you have a very large dog with you (a very large dog who prefers to be warm and dry!). Now I'm home it's time to make the cards and as Christmas is rushing up fast I'm using up the Christmassy images first!
This one's for my eldest Granddaughter, she'll love the Mo Manning fairy and all the glitter!
Thanks for looking.

This week we would like to see die cuts on your creations (as well as stamping of course!). There's a $10 voucher for the lucky winner from our lovely sponsor  Yours or Mine Papercrafts
For my card I used a gorgeous Stamping Bella Uptown Girl, Opal the Optimist, she's coloured with copics and her dress and shoes (fiddly!) have been paper pieced. There are several die cut circles in various sizes, the smaller ones are glossy accented. The words are Paper Smooches die cuts.
Please take the time to visit  the Challenge Blog  you'll be blown away by the inspiration from my talented teamies! Why not join us with your own fabulous card, remember to stamp and add a die cut (or two!).

Chocolate and mint at Delicious Doodles

Good morning! A quick post from me as I'm mentally girding up my loins in preparation for the invasion of the granddaughters (also I have to fill up the cupboards and 'fridge!!!)! My son-in-law has booked a surprise weekend away for my daughter and I'm looking after the girls, I can't wait to collect them from school as I haven't seen them since I got back from holiday1
Enough waffle, back to the card, which is for the new challenge at Delicious Doodles, it's a colour theme this week- 'Mint and Chocolate'. I used the beautiful Mistletoe Kiss image, I do love colouring these gorgeous girls of Teri's! I then enlarged the image  and coloured and cut out the mistletoe leaves to make the embellishment. The papers are randomly chosen from my ever-growing stash of offcuts. A few pearls, a bow and brad and a bit of faux stitching to finish.
There's some fabulous inspiration waiting for you over at the challenge blog and we'd love to see your deliciously minty and chocolatey creations so why not join us this week!

a walk through the woods...

Good morning! I'm fresh back from a wonderful 'extra' holiday in the depths of  Wiltshire. Life has been a bit stressful one way or another over the last few months so we decided to get away for a few days and relax... relax we certainly did! We were very fortunate in that the 'cottage' we rented was absolutely gorgeous and surrounded by the most beautiful countryside. The end-of-autumn colours were amazing! It didn't matter that the weather turned colder and wetter, we could walk our dog, explore the surroundings and return to warmth and comfort - heaven!
My card is inspired by the wonderful colours and sights we enjoyed, the trees, bracken and so many birds - we even saw a red kite! The lovely image is this month's freebie from The East Wind (thank you!), coloured with copics. The die cut trees are Memory Box...so reminiscent of the beautiful fir trees in the woodlands surrounding our cottage! I added some tiny die cut birds (also MB) and the tag is recycled!

Oh deer...

Good morning ...welcome  to the weekend! Another Christmas card from me, this time it's for the new challenge at Sweet Stampin' which is to make a shaped card. This is the second card I made...and I'm not particularly happy with it, this isn't how I imagined it at all! I like the cute Woodware reindeer and the dies I have used but somehow not the end result... but It's better than the first card:) - in it's favour it is shaped and it is a card!
Thanks for looking and I promise you that there is much fabulousness to be seen on the Challenge blog, my teamies have come up trumps, so just click here to see what they have created and to share your own lovely stamped and shaped designs! Baby it's cold out here

Good morning, another week has just flown past...indeed another month has flown past... November tomorrow, hard to believe the mild weather we've been enjoying here! I've been trying to motivate myself to get cracking with the Christmas cards so this week's challenge theme, 'Baby it's cold outside' at Delicious Doodles was a great one for me!  I chose to use  Penguin Cuddles, I coloured it with copics (love colouring these gorgeous images!). I matted it onto several layers of DP, distressed the edges and added a bit of faux stitching. A doily (it's meant to be white :( ) and a die cut snowflake and poinsettia complete the design. Hooray, another Christmas card made!
Please take the time to visit the Challenge blog there is some wonderful inspiration from the rest of the team and we'd love to have you join us this week, you can use any image you like it doesn't have to be a fabulous Delicious Doodles one! :)

Falling leaves

Good afternoon! I really shouldn't be sitting here at the computer, I should be at the optician's collecting my new specs... boring! I'll do it later!
I wanted to share this card I made using my lovely Lavinia stamps - oh no! just seen their new dies!!! something else I really 'need'!!!
I thought I'd have a go at making a shaker card so the leaves could actually 'fall'. Hmmm, not too sure about this, I found it quite fiddly but not unhappy with finished result! My background panel was inked with shades of orange, yellow and red distress ink - which I remembered to dry before stamping  with the lovely vine leaf stamp (my favourite!) this was embossed with gold and copper coloured powder. The little fairy was embossed with black. I punched some small leaves and added some tiny sequins. I kept the rest of the design very simple, just adding some die cut leaves and a tiny bow.
Thanks for visiting, I'd better go to the optician's now!!!

It's snow again!

Good evening, I've had a busy, but lovely weekend! Two small granddaughters arrived  yesterday afternoon, after a visit to the library and the park we took them out to dinner as it's Ruby's birthday on Tuesday, I never fail to be amazed at how much those girlies can eat and there's not an ounce of fat on either of them! After our meal we settled down to watch Strictly...Ruby couldn't keep her eyes open, but Olivia is 'never tired' :) Still they didn't wake me until nearly 8 am so I can't complain. They were collected at lunch time to go to the farm to pick pumpkins to carve for lanterns, so I had some time for a bit of relaxing crafting, there's certainly nothing relaxing about trying to make anything when they're around....they can't wait to get their hands on my stash!!!
Anyhow I had time to make this little card for this week's Less is More challenge - Little creatures.
It really is a quick and simple card, I stamped and masked the mouse, stamped and embossed the letters and hand wrote 'let it'. The mouse is coloured with polychromos, the snowflake is die cut with one tiny gem in the middle. I managed not to add anything else but it was hard.
Hope you all had a great weekend!

This'll scare you!!!

Or maybe it won't! This week's challenge theme at Sweet Stampin' is 'Halloween'. I made this card using the cute (and not scary) Count Draclewis from Prairie Fairy. he's coloured with copics, cut out and mounted in front of his 'coffin' which I hand cut (not having a coffin die:) it's embossed and then studded with nail heads (which I bought at a bargain price at the Ladybugs Crafts Ink closing down sale). The cobwebs are Memory Box die cuts (love this die!) I chalked the edges of the black cardstock to make it look dusty. The little spiders are doodled using a white gel pen.
Our generous sponsor this week is Crafty Devils (how apt!!!) who are giving a £15 voucher to the lucky winner, so what are you waiting for, get stamping and join in!

Snow

Good morning, the weekend is nearly here....another week closer to Christmas and I'm starting to wish I'd made more Christmas cards than I have ...Oh well there's always M&S!
On the subject of Christmas this week's challenge at Delicious Doodles is to make a Christmas gift, so after I'd finished panicking I remembered the wooden 'words' I bought at a craft show whilst on holiday. I should have thought to take a photo before I altered it, but I didn't! It was just plain wood. I painted it with acrylic paints, white first then kind of streaky blue over the top. I randomly stamped and heat embossed some white snowflakes and white frontage. The little scene in the 'O' is a Delicious Doodles image, A Robin's Christmas, which has been lightly coloured and glittered.

The die cut trees are Memory Box. I added some die cut snowflakes and 'snow' to the base. I was planning to give this to my lovely friend but may have to hide it as my son's fiancée has taken a shine to it!
Sorry about the dodgy photos, the colours haven't come out at all well, the 'snow' is white really!

Southern Girls - the theme is 'words', so we're looking for lots of words/ sentiments on your creations!
For my card I used the cute Amalias Joy Banner digi stamp from Dilly Beans , coloured with  copics and matted onto 2 layers of DP. I enlarged the image and used just the banner part to make the little corner banner. I added a holly spray die cut, twine and button to finish.

Good morning, a quick post from me with an update on the Closing Down Sale at

Although some have sold out (hardly surprising...cling stamps for only £1 each!!!) there are still plenty to choose from and they would make fabulous Christmas gifts for a crafty friend (or yourself!!!). Ruby Slippers

I can't remember the last time I made a card for the Less is More challenge! The theme this week is to make a one layer card featuring two of something. Today I had a little time to play and dug out these stamps... I've had them for months but just haven't got around to showing them an ink pad until now!
I inked up the stamps with versamark and heat embossed them in black. I then masked off the shoes and used red distress ink through a MB designer stencil. The shoes are coloured with copics,  copiously glittered and glossy accented, the cogs are coloured with a gold gel pen! I love these shoes!
Sooo tempting to add more 'stuff' to this card...I'm out of the habit of CAS!

Autumn elf

Good morning. A really quick post from me to tell you about the latest challenge at Sweet Stampin'.
I'm still at Mum's, brothers are due back sometime today, and I'm busy looking after Mum and preparing a meal for the returning travellers! It'll be great to get back home -there's nothing like sleeping in your own bed:)- but I'll miss being with my lovely Mum!
Anyway, enough waffle, the challenge theme is (you've guessed it) Autumn. I used a fabulous Aurora Wings image, coloured with copics , glossy accents on the berries. The background paper is stamped using distress inks and a Lavinia stamp. The die cut leaf and orange looking mat are cut from a piece of packaging(too lovely to throw away!) which is actually a lovely metallic bronze colour, didn't photograph at all well! Added a couple of skeleton leaves, a bow and a brad.
Hope you'll be tempted to join us with your own beautiful Autumnal creations, there's a lovely prize of a £10 voucher from our generous sponsor Bunny Zoe.

Cute Halloween

Good morning! It's ages since I've had time to post a card! Been looking after my lovely Mum while my brothers, who care for her normally, are away on a much deserved holiday. I was a bit apprehensive as she is now immobile and totally dependant on whoever is caring for her, but we've been fine! She is the most amazing woman, her strength of personality and her optimism are inspirational, and she has kept her wonderful sense of humour!
Anyways, back to this weeks challenge at Delicious Doodles, the theme this week is 'Cute Halloween'. I decided to make a treat bag, so of course I had to make two (next year it will be 3 when 3rd granddaughter is big enough to want one!). I covered some plain kraft bags with brightly coloured and embossed cardstock, matted onto black cs. Printed out my two images

and coloured them with copics, then attached them to the bags. The spider web die cuts are Memory Box, the eyes on the ghostie bag are hand cut. The spider and 'Boo' letters are from Hobbycutz. I tied some ribbon and tulle around the handles to finish. All that remains now is to fill them with treats :). I think the girls will like them (they'll definitely like the treats!)

Ribbons and bows

Good morning, a bit earlier today with my DT card for Sweet Stampin'! This weeks challenge is 'Ribbons and Bows' sponsored by The Ribbon Girl.  I used a lovely Mo Manning image, which I coloured with copics and fussy cut (the handbag straps were challenging....!) she's mounted onto a die cut and embossed circle of cardstock. The background is made up of strips of ribbon, a punched border topped with a ribbon bow and a stamped sentiment. Thanks for visiting, don't forget to pop over to Sweet Stampin' to admire the lovely creations of the rest of Team Fi!

I'm a little bit late...

....with this post. Just back from holiday today, arrived home about 3 hours ago and had to get some shopping first as OH and Mathilda really get grumpy about no food.... :) We had the most fantastic week in Dorset, such glorious weather we couldn't believe our luck!
Anyway back to my card. This week s challenge at Delicious Doodles is 'Tag it', you can make a tag or add a tag to your creation. I made a tag shaped card using one of Teri's newer images Tall ship and banner which you can find here. This is such a fabulous image...would make a fantastic pirate ship!I simply printed it in blue and die cut it, then mounted on a die cut circle, added some twine a metal button, brad and fancy paperclip (which was silver so I coloured it with a copic marker).
We'd love it if you 'tag along' with us this week! Just click here to see the rest of the team's fabulous makes and to add your own creation.
Can't keep my eyes open any longer, so I'm off for a lovely bath and an early night!
Have a fab weekend

Shoes, shoes and more shoes!

Just a quick reminder that the very last challenge at Ladybugs Crafts Ink  is still going strong, and that the BIG SALE is still on.... cling stamps are just £1 each....you don't want to miss out!
The challenge is to use your favourite stamp, so I thought I'd show some of the cards I blogged earlier :) using some of my favourite LCI digis,  Killer Heels. I have a particular soft spot for these fabulous images having been lucky enough to win the whole set on the New Release bloghop...long before I was a Ladybug! They lend themselves to such glam and girly makes and I've used them loads of times.
Thanks for visiting and I really hope you'll find the time to join in with your own favourite stamp!

Great Outdoors.

Well hellooo again! My fourth post this week...very unusual for me! This time I'm sharing my DT card for Sweet Stampin'. The theme of the challenge is 'The Great Outdoors', so lots of scope there! I decided to have a play with my lovely Lavinia stamps, and made a little scene by stamping the bridge, then masking it and swiping distress inks to colour the sky and grass. I then used distress inks and a brush to colour the bridge and stream. The two little fairies in the foreground, and the branch (not Lavinia) were stamped on top. I stamped the wings again on acetate, covered them in stickles and attached them to the fairies. The frame was made by die cutting a circle from a piece of black cardstock and sticking 2 corner die cuts on top (sorry, doesn't show up too well in the photo!) and that's about it! No copics or paper piecing (unless you count the wings...!)
There's a fabulous prize on offer this week from Stamp and Create, so hop on over here and join the fun!!!
Have a fabulous weekend!
