Bright and cheerful!

Good afternoon! It's dull, dark and raining (again!). I'm stuck indoors, at least it's warm and dry in here so I shouldn't complain! I thought I'd make a bright and cheerful card to remind myself  of spring, summer and sunshine! Tempted by the generous BOGOF at Dilly Beans (until 31 January) I bought some digis last week, they are amazing fun to colour. The current challenge is to use green, purple and gold. I followed this sketch:-
and you can see the result above!

Thanks for looking! I hope it's made you think of warmer, brighter days too!

Sketch Challenge at Hobbycutz

Good morning! It's Sunday again already and that means it's time for a new challenge at Hobbycutz! This week we have a fabulous sketch for you to follow, designed by the lovely Kobie herself!

We're sponsored this week by Whimsey Stamps who gave us some beautiful images to use, I chose to use the lovely Vintage Heart. I coloured this with copics then fussy cut it out. The papers are  MME Bramble Rose, I distressed and inked the edges. The butterflies are from the Hobbycutz shop, and have been embossed using Frantage aged rose embossing enamel.

Thanks for looking, hope you like the card and we'd love to see your interpretation of this sketch at Hobbycutz Challenges this week.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Steampunk mermaid!

Good afternoon. I've been very industrious today, cleaned the house right through (it really needed it after having my granddaughters to stay at the weekend, they are gorgeous but busy and messy!-nothing that doesn't clean up though!) and cleared all the ironing! Feeling so virtuous now and rewarding myself with time to play!
This card is made using a  fabulous image from Delicious Doodles, (you can find it here) I coloured her with copics and framed her in some oval shaped die cuts which have been randomly stamped with some tiny gear and cog stamps. Various die cuts are added to the frame. The clock is a Debbie Moore stamp, coloured with copics, cut out and crackle glazed I love the effect of this! I finished it off with a few tiny pearls.

Quick update on Mathilda's paws: she actually cut both right hand (leg??!) paws and her right hind leg and needed stitches in all three cuts! Poor girly had to wait until Friday because she'd eaten and the vet needed to anaesthetise her. Here she is feeling a bit sorry for herself, but sporting some very fetching purple bandages
convalescing on the sofa!

Keeping said bandages dry is a bit of a problem as the local pet store doesn't stock waterproof booties in her size, so we have been covering them with plastic bags when she goes outside.... you never know when you're going to need 'a bag for life'! I wonder if they'll replace them for free now that they have holes in them!!!

She's been back to the vet today to have the stitches wounds checked, happily they are healing well! (She now has blue bandages....)

Well that's all for now, thanks for visiting, hope you have a pleasant evening.

Snow Queen, glitter and bling!

Good afternoon! It's dark and it's raining so a good time to be indoors in the warm although lot of drama going on in this house today, Mathilda has cut her paw, blood and bandages everywhere! Just as well our new carpet cleaner turned up last week, it's had a baptism of fire.... well blood! She wasn't terribly cooperative about having said paw bandaged, and can remove the offending object far quicker than we can get it on... she's not going to be too impressed about going to the v.e.t. either......
Anyways, back to the card! I love this beautiful image from AuroraWings, Mitzi Sato-Wiuff is so talented. I coloured the Snow Queen using my copics and with hindsight I wish I'd left her face white! I used loads of glitter and bling so she really sparkles in daylight! The photo really doesn't show it very well! The edges of the image are flitter glued and covered with silver mega flakes and steel blue crushed glass glitter. The edges of the embossed background have added frantage. I kept the design simple to focus on the image. Thanks for visiting, going to check on the poorly paw!

the temptation was just too strong.....

Morning all, and a lovely bright morning it is for a very pleasant change! It's so nice not to have to switch lights on all day! Here's a card I made using some absolutely gorgeous Lavinia stamps that I treated myself to last week. I have been resisting the temptation ever since I first saw the fabulous cards that the lovely Julie has made with them, click here  to visit her blog and check them out for yourself! Well, the human body can only take so much......! The hardest thing was deciding which ones to buy! The main image on this card is fairy Erin. I stamped her on white card, masked the image and inked with distress inks then stamped the mushrooms and vine leaves around her. I stamped her wings onto acetate, cut them out and added loads of glitter to the reverse and then added them to the image. They are so sparkly IRL!

The blue background paper was stamped randomly with the vine and a cobweb. I so enjoyed making this card! Off now to get inky again! Thanks for looking, hope the sun is shining where you are too!

Girly... but not pink!

Good morning, almost 2 weeks into the new year already- I think 2014 might fly by even more quickly than last year did! Hope you're ready for the new challenge at Sweet Stampin' ! A very popular theme this week- Girly but not pink! I made my card using this adorable image from All Dressed Up, I think she's so cute, and what's more she's a freebie! How very generous! The colours on the photo are not at all true to life I'm afraid! The dotted paper is a lovely shade of grey! This week we are sponsored by The Ribbon Girl -a £10 voucher, and our new monthly sponsor is Cuddly Buddly who are also giving a £10 voucher to one lucky winner this month. If you would like to enter your own 'girly' creation, (remember to stamp and NO pink!!) , or you just don't want to miss the inspiration from my lovely teamies please click here to visit the challenge blog! Thanks for looking, please call again!!!

Winter blues at LIM....but I'm in the mood for pink!

Hello! Good evening, hope you're enjoying a lovely restful Sunday after all the excitement of Christmas and the new year! I had a bit more excitement today.... I'm going to be a grandma again in May (which I already knew) but today my son and his fiancée discovered that their baby (their first!) is a girl!!!!! So exciting, this little one will be my third granddaughter and I'm so looking forward to meeting her!! Hence, the pink mood! Just happened to go shopping today, just happened to buy pink baby outfits..... rude not to!
Anyway, the card is for this weeks LIM challenge 'winter blues', it's not very wintery :) but it's blue!
I used 3 stamps, the tiny fairy was stamped first, then masked and stamped over with the flourish, then I stamped the sentiment, which actually looks quite straight for once!  I coloured the image with my fabulous new polychromos which I was lucky enough to receive from my lovely hubby at Christmas! I added a tiny gem to the flower and a teeny bit of glitter to the wings.
Hope your day was as magical as mine!
