For a special man

Good morning, time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin', and this week the theme is 'Father's Day or special man'. I chose to make a card for my husband as it's his birthday next week. I wanted a Great Dane image as he is besotted by our lovely Mathilda....the feeling is mutual, she is equally besotted with him! There are not a lot of images around but I finally found one I really liked by Just Inklined available here. The only problem was that the drawing had Harlequin markings and Mathilda is a Blue so I printed it in fadeout so that I could colour over the markings, I definitely need more practice with my shading but I'm not too unhappy with the result, although, as you can see from the photo below the real Mathilda is far more gorgeous! The gift bag is paperpieced  with a tiny LOTV tag added. The laser cut wooden heart is from Hobbycutz and is triple embossed with a dark red embossing powder.

Thanks so much for visiting today, I hope you'll pop over to the challenge blog to see the lovely creations that the rest of Team Jacky have made to inspire you this week, then why not make something lovely for the special man in your life and add to the linky for us all to enjoy...you could be the lucky winner of a much coveted Sweet Stampin' Goody Bag...yay!!
enjoy the weekend

Mine...all mine!!

Back again  already with my DT card for this weeks challenge at Fab 'n' Funky! hosted by the lovely Wendy, and as it's the last Wednesday of the month our theme is Christmas.
I used a fabulous image from Make it Crafty, this mischievous Santa really makes me smile! As I printed the image fairly large I decided to go for a CAS design, so I coloured him with copics, cut him out and mounted him over the simple black frame. The sentiment came with the image, I just cut it with a stitched circle die. My (tiny) stash of Christmas cards is beginning to grow....
Please take the time to pop over to Fab 'n' Funky to see the beautiful creations from my talented teamies, hopefully you'll be inspired to play along...just think how glad you'll be nearer the festive season!..there's also a lovely prize on offer from our generous sponsor this week- Di's Digis.
Thanks for visiting today!

Inside and out

Good morning, happy Wednesday...soon be the weekend again, a short week for those of us in the UK! There's a new challenge starting over at Creative Moments today, and the optional theme is - we would like you to decorate the inside of your card as well as the outside.

I used this fun image, Wizz Doodles courtesy of one of our fabulous sponsors for this fortnight, Dr Digi's House of Stamps. He's coloured with copics, then fussy cut and mounted on die cut circles, also coloured with copics, I added some die cut 'swooshes ' to the end of his fingers, this was then mounted onto the front of a gatefold card. The top black layer of the card has been embossed with a stars embossing folder.
The sentiment inside is computer generated, printed onto yellow card and die cut into a circle, the 'magic' is glittery stickers.
It was quite difficult to photograph this card, so I added extra piccies!
Thanks for visiting today, hope you'll be tempted to join us in this fun challenge sponsored by

Lazy Sunday

I've had a really lazy day today... sat in the garden reading this morning, lovely until it clouded over, then spent the afternoon playing. I made this card using a cute Tiddlyinks image called Lilli Claire's bouquet, she's available here for just £1! I've coloured her with copics. I followed a sketch from Kathy's Sketch File

and a colour inspiration from MAWTT

Thanks for looking, enjoy what's left of the weekend!

Moonlit fairy

Hi, just a quick post from me this evening to share a card I made using a beautiful  rubber stamp I bought from Sweet Pea Stamps some years ago. The artist is Ching-Chou Kuik and the stamp is still available here. I coloured the fairy with cool grey copics and just a touch of blue, the moon behind her with Perfect Pearl paint, it's lovely and shimmery IRL but doesn't look so good in the photo! I then masked the image and inked the background with blue distress ink, adding a touch of the Perfect Pearl round the image of the fairy. The card base is made from 2 circles of dark blue cardstock, the lower one folded in half to make the card stand up. A couple of doilies, some hand rolled dark blue roses, a lily, die cut leaves, a bow, pearl brad and a tiny tag complete my card.  Hope you like it, thanks for calling by and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

A bit dotty!

Hi lovely blogger friends, hope you're having a good day so far! Another week has flown past, making it time for a new challenge at Southern Girls. This fortnight the theme is 'spots and dots' sponsored by All Dressed Up and Zuri Artsy Crafty , so you can be sure there are some fabulous prizes on offer! I was given this gorgeous digi , Grisel to play with, she's a Zuri stamp and available here.I coloured her with my trusty copics, paper pieced her dress, cut her out and placed her on top of my l/o. The flowers are stamped onto more spotty paper, white embossed, cut out and layered together. The tags are LOTV (is one upside down?-looked ok until I photographed it...) The black base card was embossed with a Marianne ef (doesn't show well in photo) but it has more spots on it!
The Southern Girls would love to look at your spots this fortnight, so don't be shy, come play with us!
Thanks for taking the time to drop by.

A little therapy...

I've had a little time to play since I've been back from looking after Mum, I'm finding it difficult to concentrate on anything for long- think I'm still in 'Mum minding' mode - so I thought a bit of colouring therapy might help me relax - it did! I coloured up this beautiful Aurora Wings image using my copics, with pencils for added shading on her hair and the flowers. I used a sparkly gel pen on her jewellery, a small few gems added for extra sparkle. The black card base is frantaged around the edges and covered with some nylon mesh (a recycled fruit bag!) The flowers are mainly hand made, either stamped or die cut apart from the tall sprigs of purple flowers, I added a little tag with a stamped sentiment to finish. I'm now much more chilled, off to enjoy a glass of wine!( also very therapeutic!:)

Thanks for visiting, have a lovely evening.

CAS at Sweet Stampin'

Good morning, hope the sun is shining for you wherever you are. Our challenge at Sweet Stampin' this week is Clean and Simple, I was delighted with this as I haven't had much time to spare the last few days -and I have some lovely new stamps from Visible Image that I've been itching to play with!
My card is a simple tent-fold blank, I cut a piece of white card just slightly smaller and mounted it on a panel of dark maroon coloured card (I know it looks black in the photo, but it isn't :). I stamped the paint swoosh stamp 3 times with distress ink (aiming for an ombre effect), then a stamped a couple of 'drips' to make it look as if the paint has run. I stamped the sentiment over the top with black memento ink. It looked a bit bare so I stamped the 'thumbprint' in the corner (seems funny to do this on purpose, usually I try to disguise thumbprints :), the top border was made with an EK Success punch. Simples and quick!
Thanks for visiting today, hope you'll be tempted to play along with the Sweeties this week, there's a Sweet Stampin' Goodie bag waiting for the lucky winner so just click here to pop over to the Challenge Blog.
Have a great weekend.

Tag it!

Hi again, just like buses nothing for ages then 2 come along at once! This card's my DT inspiration for the new challenge at Fab 'N' Funky , the theme was chosen by the lovely and talented Pat K and is 'to make a tag, or add one' and we're sponsored this week by the amazing Dr Digi!
As you can see, I'm still concentrating on making these male themed cards, this one's for my brother! As soon  as I saw this handsome hunk I knew I had to use it on Andy's card... he's such a huge fan of a cup of tea, although not so sure he'll be impressed with Weekend Walter!
I kept the design very simple because I printed the image fairly large. The mug border was made by enlarging just the mug and printing it out times (I had to draw the handle), colouring with copics, fussy cutting and attaching to the card with sticky pads. The little tag was cut using a sizzix die and attached with a little heart brad.
Thanks so much for calling, don't forget to pop by Fab N Funky Challenges to see what Team Funky have created for you this week, of course we'd be delighted if you decide to tag along!
Have a lovely day!

An awesome bookworm!

Helloooo, it seems like ages since I've shared a card, I've been looking after my Mum, who needs caring for 24/7 as my brothers and sister, who are her main carers were away on holiday....it's hard work and I'm exhausted, but it's so rewarding to spend time on my own with my Mum, she's such a special lady and despite her pain and disabilities she stays positive and cheerful, she's also sharp as a knife and nothing gets past her!
I did so miss my crafting though, so it's wonderful to be back home with time to play!
Ok, now the card.... there's a new challenge starting today at Creative Moments, the optional theme is 'Teentastic' or, as always,  Anything Goes! We're sponsored this fortnight by Robyn's Fetish and were given some  images to play with, I chose to use this cute Bookworm image as I thought it perfect for my lovely nephew, Liam who will be 15 this month. He's an extremely clever young man, and he loves his books!
I made a tent fold card from green cardstock, covered it with a scrap of striped dp. The top border is punched, embossed and wrapped with Bakers twine. I made a smaller 'card' from 2 small pieces of red cardstock, which are hinged together using punched circles, the image -coloured with copics - on the front, which opens to reveal his gift!
The flap is kept closed with a tiny peg which I coloured red with a copic marker. The sentiment is a Paper Smooches stamp. Phew, another of my 'Male May' birthdays catered for!

Thanks for visiting today, apologies if I've been a bit lax on my comments over the past 2 weeks!
I hope you'll have the time to pop over to Creative Moments to enjoy the inspiration from my teamies, we'd love to have you join us this fortnight!

Inspired by...

...a book or film is the theme for this week's challenge at Sweet Stampin'. I took absolutely ages to decide what to make for this....there is literally no end to the choices!!! I eventually came up with this...inspired by 'Memoirs of a Geisha' by Arthur Golden... a wonderful read. There is also a film, same title, based on this novel, but in my opinion the book is way better! I used a beautiful digi stamp from A Day for Daisies which I coloured with copics, then masked to lightly distress ink the background which was then stamped with a very old foam backed stamp with Chinese script on. The flowers are made using a Memory Box die and coloured to match the image.
We'd love to have you join us this challenge, so please click here to visit Sweet Stampin' to add your beautiful creations (don't forget to include some stamping) and to feast your eyes on the fabulous inspiration from Team Jacky! The prize for this week's lucky winner is a Sweet Stampin' Goody bag!
Thanks for visiting, have a great weekend!
