Water...

'
'Water' is the theme of this week's challenge over at Sweet Stampin'.  This time we're sponsored by Robyn's Fetish who generously gave the DT some cute images to play with. To make my card I used the cute Don't rain on my parade image. I coloured this little froggie with my copics and paper pieced the umbrella...added some glossy accents to the rain drops. The sentiment is an old wooden stamp that I've had for yonks...good advice though! Just lately there's been plenty of puddles to stomp in around here ...which will delight my youngest granddaughter ...expected for her first 'sleepover' (please please let it be SLEEPover!) here tonight! She is a huge Peppa Pig fan (like most 2 year olds) and loves to jump in muddy puddles! Wonder where I've put my wellies!
We'd love to have you join us this week with your water themed makes...doesn't have to be rain...any water will do ...don't forget to include some stamping! Click here to visit the challenge blog to see some fabulous inspiration from my teamies and to add your own beautiful creations.
Have a great weekend

Add some texture for the Southern Girls

Good morning, I'm here today with my DT card for our new challenge at Southern Girls. I was so delighted to see that we're sponsored by The East Wind this time, I love working with these beautiful images! I chose to use  Aurora Floral Kiss to make my card. I've used my copics to colour the image ,
embossed and layered some of the flowers for extra texture and dimension., and added a little braid made from embroidery thread. The papers and sentiment are by Craftwork Cards Chalkboard Collection, the die cut butterflies are Sizzix Tim Holtz.
Thanks for looking,  I know you'll be sorry if you miss out on the rest of the DT's fabulous inspiration, so just click here to enjoy!

Count your rainbows

Good morning, time for a new challenge at Creative Moments. Our optional  theme for this fortnight is 'Showers/rainbows' quite topical really except that the showers we had yesterday were sleet and hailstones...don't see many rainbows with those! Our sponsor for this challenge is Lacy Sunshine, who generously allowed the DT to choose an image each to play with. I chose to use Rory -sitting on a rainbow. I've coloured her up with copics and die cut the image with a stitched rectangle die, matted onto a slightly larger rectangle, the borders of this and the around the outside edge of the card are coloured with copics to match the rainbow. I added a stamped sentiment and 4 little flower brads.
Thanks for visiting today, I hope you're enjoying a good week (despite the weather for those of us in the UK!)
There's a lot of fabulous inspiration from the rest of the DT to be seen by clicking here, and of course we hope you're going to play along with us this fortnight...remember, you don't have to follow the theme...anything goes at Creative Moments!

Life in the fast lane...

Good evening, I've spent the last few days being busy...busy doing what I'm not too sure! I think I must be living life in the fast lane at the rate time flashes by...or maybe it's just another sign of advancing age :(
When I've had any spare minutes I've been making 'men' cards...'male May' is almost upon us with more birthdays than I like to count! There are always spare 'girly 'cards in the box  but never anything suitable for the men(wonder why :) This one is for my son who loves driving and cars, the boy in the image looks just like a younger version of him so it really made me smile! Coloured with copics, glossy accents added to goggles and windscreen, stamped sentiment, The papers are from Docrafts.
Thanks for popping by,have a lovely evening!

Winged thing ...

Good morning, time for a brand new challenge at Fab n Funky  this time the theme is 'winged things' sponsored by the wonderful Lacy Sunshine. Our lovely Catherine is hosting this week and she  picked the lovely theme.
My card is made using the cute Sleepytime Danni, I coloured this baby dragon with copics, then die cut with a stitched circle die. I sat and looked at it for ages before deciding to make a rocker card, seemed apt for a sleepy baby! Apologies for the poor quality of the photo...not only is my email playing up by refusing to let me open any attachments (very inconvenient!) I also discovered that I can't seem to download anything from my camera, haven't a clue why....I can download from web. Anyway ended up taking this photo with my phone.
Thanks for calling by today, it would be great if you joined us over at Fab N Funky this week...just click here to add your link and to admire the creations from the rest of Team Funky!

Stamp a tag!

Good morning. I'm back from my holiday...a last minute booking just to get away for a while! We felt we needed a change of scene after the last few weeks incarceration! It was wonderful, a lovely break ...the  bungalow we booked was 2 minutes walk from the sea and even nearer the dog- friendly -food -serving pub! Came home feeling rested and chilled to discover that there's some kind of problem with my email account which refuses to let me download any attachments ...aaaarrrggghhhh! Hope my son can sort it out for me!
Anyway, enough of the waffle, this card is already late, thought I'd be home in time to post it yesterday. It's my DT card for this week's challenge at Sweet Stampin', it's a 'just for fun' challenge this week and the theme is tags....make one or add one. I chose to make a card with an  added tag, quick and simple. The little Japanese girl is a stamp, one of the first I ever bought, stamped on a tag which I'd coloured with distress inks, the tag is mounted onto cardstock coloured with the same inks and stamped with Japanese/ Chinese? writing. The blossom and sentiment are also stamped.
Thanks for visiting...will be catching up on what I missed later!

Creative Moments #91 ...make it funny!

Good morning, if you're reading this my scheduled post has worked ...yay!!! My card today is for our new challenge at Creative Moments ...the optional theme this week is 'make it funny'! Now, I know that a lot of us  ladies take their shopping very seriously...nothing funny about it all, but this sentiment does make me smile! My sister and two of my bestest friends are very keen and avid shoppers and this always makes me think of them! I stamped it onto die cut tag and teamed it with this sweet image (Go Shopping) from one of our fab sponsors this week, Aliciabel. (The image looks nothing like my sister or friends....may have done 4o years ago or so.....!) The tag slips in and out behind the image and ribbon. There's loads more to see over at Creative Moments, so why not hop on over and take a peek! Of course we'd love to see your creations too...no need to follow the theme if you prefer not to...anything goes!
Thanks for calling by today!

Whatever the weather!

Hi! Here's a JFF card using a cute image I fell in love with and had to buy! It's called Whatever the Weather and is available from That Craft Place (here), I love these quirky looking rag dolls and this image seemed so apt for the weather we're having at the moment! Coloured with copics, paper pieced umbrella and die cut with a stitched circle die. The 'rainbow' is made from embossed circles, lots of glossy accents on the raindrops, both the background dp and on the image.
Thanks for calling by, hope you have a lovely weekend...whatever the weather!

There are so many brilliant images suitable for this theme over at Bugaboo stamps, I eventually plumped for this one, available here , because it really made me laugh! I always used to tell my children when they asked my age ...21 and a bit...ok it was a big bit ...and it kept getting bigger each birthday....but it wasn't a fib!
Thanks for visiting today, there's some fabulous Big Birthday cards to be enjoyed, created by my talented teamies, just click here to pop over and take a look, and of course we would be delighted if you joined in this week!

Steampunk canvas

Good morning! When I saw the current challenge over at the East Wind I knew I'd have to find time to join in! Steampunk is one of my favourites! I know it doesn't appeal to everyone so I don't often make cards using this style...so, inspired by some of my lovely blog buddies, I decided to make a mini canvas.I painted the canvas with white acrylic  because my gesso smelt awful, think it had gone off :(  then used distress inks to stencil the background cogs. The image I've used is this month's freebie from The East Wind, it's just a beautiful face...no hair! I coloured using my copics then added the 'hair' using stamped and embossed cogs, just cut an aperture to fit her face into. I fitted it through the Tim Holtz clock die cut which has been embossed using frantage. I stuck this to the canvas adding the metal sentiment and a tiny stamped clock. I added some wings to the stamped embossed sentiment and then finished off with metal buttons and laser cut wooden cogs. I so enjoyed making this even though I haven't a clue what I'm going to do with it!
Thanks for visiting today, hope you're enjoying a good week!

How old???

I'm back again with my second post of the day! This week at Sweet Stampin' we're challenging you to add a number to your card, in honour of our lovely Susan who will be celebrating a BIG birthday tomorrow!! Now my card is not for Susan, she needs a MUCH bigger number than this on her card :D! This is for my youngest granddaughter who will be two in May....don't know where those 2 years disappeared to! The image is a Mo Manning stamp, one of the first I ever bought! This little cutie looks just like Emily and the cat looks like their poor long-suffering Che....! The letters are made using templates, inked around the edges. Balloons and number are die cuts. I chose bright bold colours to appeal to a small child.
This week our challenge is sponsored by stix2. who are offering a lovely prize to our lucky random winner. To visit the challenge blog click here. To visit Susan's blog, to wish her a happy birthday, please click here!
Thanks for visiting today, have a lovely weekend!

Anything goes at Crafty Calendar

Good morning! Here's the first of two posts today, it's the first Saturday of the month which means time for a  new Challenge at Crafty Calendar, and this month it's everyone's favourite...'anything goes'. We have two fabulous sponsors for this one... Fabrika Fantasy and All Dressed Up, so some lovely prizes for the lucky winners!
I used a gorgeous image from Fabrika Fantasy to make my card, unusually for me I used the pre coloured version, this speeded things up a lot :D   I used brushos and mica pigment powder on black cardstock to make the background, added a gold border, stamped sentiment and some stamped flowers and feathers.
My teamies have made some beautiful cards for your inspiration, just click here to pop over and take a look and to add your own fabulous creation!
