A colour challenge at Catch the Bug

Weekly Challenge!

Hello, hope your weekend has started well, it's the last Saturday of January and we have a colour inspiration challenge for you at Catch the Bug. I think these colours are wonderful, such rich shades of purple and violet. I made a card featuring Teacup flowers 2, such a pretty image! It's a simple layout, I cut a strip from the card front and rounded the edges to add interest. The darker purple background is embossed with a woven texture EF (no idea of make). The lighter strip with the dots was already embossed. I added a stamped sentiment and a few brads.

As always there's plenty more to be seen over at Catch the Bug, so come on over and join the fun.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend

Crafty Catz Challenge #446

Good morning, it's Friday again and time for a new challenge at Crafty Catz. This week it's Dianne's turn to pick the theme for the DT to use...and she chose 'ribbon and lace', a perfect choice for the lovely images we were given to use by our fabulous sponsor this week, All Dressed Up.

My card features 'Pretty in Plaits'...so sweet!. I coloured with copics and die cut with a stitched oval die, which is mounted onto a kraft tag. Papers are Blissful Cocoa (Anna Marie Designs), I've torn or distressed all the edges for a softer look. I added a die cut swirly circle, ribbon , lace , a paper flower and some faux stitching.
There are some beautiful creations  from the DT over on the Challenge Blog, so it's well worth a visit! We hope you decide to play along this week...remember it's always 'anything goes' so no need to follow the theme if you prefer not to!
Thanks for visiting and have a lovely day.

It's Oldie But A Goodie day at Catch the Bug. Thursday is the day the DT like to share their creations featuring some of Jodie's older images, they're too good to neglect.
I made a card showcasing the  Flower Bird,
This cute image makes me think of spring...not cold and snow and dark dreary days! I needed some more thank you cards having used up nearly all the ones I had over Christmas and my birthday.

Thanks for visiting and for more inspiration featuring some of Bugaboo's older images just head on over to Catch the Bug.

Mr And Mrs Snowman

Good morning, time for a new challenge at Fab'n' Funky...this week the theme is Christmas.
I'm trying to use some of my older stamps rather than buying new ones...and failing dismally...but this IS an old wooden stamp by Whipper Snapper that I've had for years, used loads but still love! It's called Mr and Mrs Snowman. I used copics to colour, then fussy cut and placed the cute couple on a die cut oval of DP. I gave them some mounds of snow to sit on, very comfy if you're a snowman, not recommended for humans!
I shaped the top of the card by cutting the corners off to make an arch. Old ribbon from stash, die cut icicles and snowflake. Meant to glitter them up but I forgot!
There's more inspiration from the team over at Fab'n'Funky Challenge Blog, why not hop over and take a look, then get ahead make a start on your Christmas cards and play along!

Crafty Catz Challenge #444

Good morning, where did this last week go...it's Friday again! That means it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Catz, this week it's my turn to host so I get to choose the optional theme...it's nice and simple...Birthdays!

Our lovely sponsor this week is Digi Doodle Studios , who provided the DT with some sweet images to play with.
To make my card featuring the cute Heather digital stamp, available HERE, I coloured the image using my Copics, and fussy cut. I cut a strip from the righthand side of the front of my card base and covered the rest of the front with embossed white cardstock matted onto green dotted DP. I used the cut off strip to make the horizontal banner she's standing on. The sentiment is stamped with versamark ink and embossed with white EP.
As always there's loads of beautiful cards created by my lovely teamies to be enjoyed at Crafty Catz Challenge Blog. I hope you choose to play along this week...anything goes, the birthdays theme is optional.
Thanks for visiting
Hope you have a great weekend.

January Challenge at Christmas at Sweet Stampin'

Hi  I'm back again with my DT card  for our first challenge of 2019 at Christmas at Sweet Stampin'..yep, Christmas 2018 is behind us so now it's time to start all over again! It'a much better idea than leaving it all until December!
Despite promising myself not to buy anything new I succumbed to temptation when I saw some gorgeous Sylvia Zet stamps in an online sale...I know I shouldn't have been looking.....
Here's one of them, coloured up with copics, such a sweet little sprite! The wings are sparkly IRL, covered with Wink of Stella, but no chance of getting a photo of it in this light!
As always my talented teamies have created a variety of beautiful cards , just hop on over to CASS to be inspired and to add your own fabulous creations!

New Beginnings at Fab'n'Funky

Good morning, it's time for this week's challenge at Fab'n'Funky, the theme is 'new beginnings' so new home, new job, new baby etc.
I went with the new baby idea... I'm to be a grandma again later in the year so the theme is dear to my heart at present! I'll definitely have to hedge my bets though and make a girly card too!
Apart from the 'new baby' theme everything on this card is old...the image is a LOTV digistamp, the papers and buttons are years old as is the embossing folder I used! The 'baby' stickers I found in the bottom of a box of chipboard shapes (also old, never think of using them these days!) and the congratulations stamp is part of a clear set of baby stamps that are so old they've gone a bit sticky!

The sketch I followed is new though...you can find it here at Cheerful Sketch Challenges.
we hope you choose to play along this week and show us your 'new beginnings', click here to hop over to Fab n Funky, there's some wonderful creations from my lovely teamies for you to enjoy!
Thanks for stopping by, I'll be back later today!

Make it flowery at Crafty Calendar

Hi, back again with my DT make for Crafty Calendar. This month's theme is 'make it flowery' -
sponsored by SheepSki Designs.

I chose to use the beautiful Peonies digital stamp, courtesy of our lovely sponsor.
I printed the image onto cream pearlised cardstock and coloured it with copics...the ink reacted differently to how it does on ordinary cardstock, but I quite like the effect, it changes colour with the light as you move it.
I made a card base with the same pearlised card and layered another embossed panel onto dark red card, finished with a ribbon, die cut sentiment and a die cut tag.
There are lots of flowery beauties created by my lovely teamies over at Crafty Calendar, so come on over and feast your eyes.
We all love flowers so hope you choose to play along and inspire us with your lovely creations.

Spots and Dots at Sweet Stampin'

Good morning, it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin', the theme this week is 'spots and dots'. I took the opportunity to ink up a sweet little stamp I bought at a craft show in November...unfortunately I picked up the wrong inkpad and stamped it in light grey ink instead of black. I decided to try colouring it anyway aiming for a 'no lines' effect...hmmmm not sure! I paper pieced her dress and hairband. A tent fold card base and a simple layered design using die cuts, a button and a stamped sentiment.
Thanks for visiting, hope you choose to play along this week.

Crafty Catz Challenge #443

Good morning, the Crafty Catz are back with our first challenge this year, as always it's 'anything goes' with an optional twist, and this week we're sponsored by Little Blue Button Stamps.  This week our hostess is our lovely Aunty Sue who chose the twist of 'Food and Drink'
The DT were given some beautiful images to play with and I chose to use this little sweetie, Dream Charlie, she looks so peaceful daydreaming over her lovely cup of coffee! I used my copics to colour and paper pieced the table cloth. The background take-away coffee cup and stenciled coffee beans are part of a set of magazine freebies...perfect with this image!
As always there's plenty of inspiration from my lovely teamies over at Crafty Catz, so please hop over and take a peek and don't forget to add your own lovely entry!
Thanks for visiting, enjoy the weekend

Happy New Year!

Good morning, first of all I'd like to wish everyone a very happy and healthy 2019...let's hope the coming year will be a good one!
It seems like ages since I've posted anything on my blog...came down with what I thought was a nasty cold during the run up to Christmas ended up with full blown 'flu...aches and pains, dizziness, the lot! Of course my husband caught it too, he spent most of Christmas in bed.
It wasn't all bad though, we did see all of our lovely family, they braved the coughs and sneezes :)) to be with us.
and I had the most exciting surprise...I'm going to be a grandmother again in July!!!!
I am over the moon!

Anyway...my card today is for our new challenge at Fab'n'Funky   the challenge theme this week is to recycle a Christmas card. I think it's a great idea, so many cards are much too beautiful to throw away so why not reuse them?
I combined these two lovely cards to make mine:-

Apologies for photos...daylight is not good at the moment!

I made a shaped card blank and covered it with the background paper from the deer card (the deer and trees were popped up in front, difficult to photograph) then I  used a circle die to cut the main image from the top card, which I adhered to the centre. I used one of the trees with deer and rabbit,  popped it up on foam dots to the left of the circle. I added the die cut snowflakes and a stamped sentiment to finish. It was easy ...and quick. A card for Christmas 2019 already!
Thank you for stopping by today, hope you're tempted to play along with this fun challenge...for more inspiration from my lovely teamies please hop over and check out the Challenge Blog.
Have a great day
Chris
