A Christmas card

Good morning, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, the snowdrops and crocuses are basking in the warmth...so I made a Christmas card! Can't say I'm very inspired to make Christmas stuff at the moment but wanted to join in with Rudolph Day! I'll be pleased I did when this year flashes by and December looms on the horizon!
This was quick to make as no colouring involved, a combination of diecuts, embossing folder, kraft, dp and a piece of cord. The sentiment is stamped, the little 'button' is die cut from Kraft card so it's flat to post too! I'm off now to make the most of the sunshine...the weather forecasters are saying that this amazing warm spell is coming to an end...it was great while it lasted! :)

...the end of the rainbow

Good morning, my card today features some adorable new images from Bugaboo, Ava Sitter and Deacon Sitter. These are two separate images, I merged them together, coloured with copics and fussy cut. I don't have a rainbow die so I used nesting circle dies, cutting in various sizes and sticking together. The 'pot of gold' is a free image i found on google...again coloured with copics. I added a few tiny die cut stars for some 'magic'! Sentiment is a stamp.
As always there are lots of fabulous makes from the DT to be enjoyed over at Catch the Bug.
Thanks for visiting

Crafty Catz Challenge #550

Good morning, this week's challenge at Crafty Catz is hosted by Nick and she's picked the theme of  'Boys, boys, boys' ...as always the theme is optional, but if you're like me then it's always useful to have a few masculine cards in your stash...never seem to be as many as there are girly ones!
Our sponsor this time is Beccy's Place

BECCYS PLACE

To make my card I used one of Beccy's cute freebies, Little Andy. Beccy is a very generous lady...there are loads of gorgeous free images on her blog!
I coloured the image using my copics (it's available pre-coloured too!)  papers from stash, stamped and embossed sentiment and football.
To see what my lovely teamies have been up to this week, and to add your own creations, please click here to hop over to Craft Catz.

Good morning, it's our regular monthly Christmas spot over at Fab'n' Funky  It's a great way to get ahead on making your cards for this year...I know February sounds a tad early but we all know how quickly the year flies by!
I used a cute image from the Paper Shelter to make my card, Rooftop Party, I think the robins are having a wonderful time...not too sure about the reindeer. I've used copics to colour, some snippets of dp and a stamped sentiment.
Hop on over to Fab'n' Funky to see what my lovely teamies have created...then why not get started on your own Christmas makes while you're in the mood!?

New release day at Bugaboo

New Releases!
Good morning , Tuesday is the day we feature Bugaboo's latest images at Catch the Bug.
Here's my card featuring the sweet Fairy Girl
I needed to make my card quite quickly, so kept it pretty simple. The background paper is from a 6x6 Hunkydory pad, Twilight Kingdom, and I used another piece of the paper in similar colours to create the frame. The fairy is coloured with copics, her wings and hair generously coated with Wink of Stella, I cut her out and popped her on a die cut branch in front of the moon.
There's loads more to see over at Catch the Bug!
Thanks for visiting, have a great day

Crafty Catz Challenge #449

Good morning, it's Friday again ...already!!! ...and time for a new challenge at Crafty Catz. It is our lovely Janette's turn to host, I was so happy when she picked the (optional) theme of Keep it Simple as I'm having a bit of a CAS phase just now!
This week we have a fabulous sponsor Some Odd Girl
The DT were generously each allowed to choose an image...it took me ages, there are so many and I'm not good at quick decisions, eventually I chose Reading Tia, she's so sweet and images of children reading always appeal to me! I printed her directly onto my background paper (a fairy story page I found on Google) then coloured with my trusty copics.  I tried stamping the sentiment directly onto the paper with black ink (fortunately I had the sense ...for once...to try it on a spare piece because I didn't like it! So I used a brown ink, stamped onto cream cardstock ,cut it out and stuck it on- it looked much better. I outlined it with a dark brown fineliner.
I have to say that this week I think my teamies have done an amazing job and I absolutely love each and every one of their cards...but don't take my word for it pop over to Crafty Catz and see for yourselves! It would be great if you choose to play along too, you don't have to use the theme (I hope you do though:) it's anything goes!
Thank you for visiting, I'll be back later today with another card.

February Challenge at Christmas at Sweet Stampin'

Good morning, it's time for our February challenge at Christmas at Sweet Stampin'
To make my card I used an old PB wood backed stamp which remains a firm favourite, it stamps beautifully and I love the sketchy look of the deer, even if my granddaughter asked me why it's leg has fallen off :D The background was created with Distress Inks and masking, sentiment is stamped. I matted onto black cardstock and then Cracked ice mirri card. The die cuts are Sizzix Tim Holtz. I'm happy with the way it turned out...and it's nice and flat for posting!
I do hope you decide to play along with us this month, February may seem a little early to get your head around making Christmas cards, but come December you will be so glad you did!
We have some lovely new teamies join us this month, I'm so impressed with the beautiful cards they've created (think I need to up my game as my daughter would say!), the rest of the team have produced wonderful cards as always, so just visit HERE to enjoy, and to add your own beautiful creations.
Thanks for stopping by, have a lovely day.

Daffodils

Good morning, it's almost the weekend and time for a new challenge at Crafty Catz, asa always we have an optional theme for our Anything Goes Challenge, this week it's Jac's turn to host and she chose the lovely theme of 'hearts and flowers'. Our fabulous sponsor this time is SheepSki Designs

who provided the DT with some beautiful digis to play with.

The image I chose is Jo's Daffodils, I've always loved daffodils, to me they're the epitome of spring, so bright and beautiful. I used to buy them every week for my lovely Mum whilst they were in season. She used to love watching them open out from tight buds to a burst of sunshine colours, a touch of springtime to brighten her day (she was bedridden for a long time).
I coloured the image with copics, distressed the edges and added a bit of stencilling.
As always there's some fabulous inspiration from the rest of the DT to be enjoyed HERE, and of course we'd love to have you play along, remember you don't have to use the theme...it's always anything goes at Crafty Catz.
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend

Thinking of spring....

Good afternoon, I think this is a first for me this year...a card made 'just because'...not a DT card!
It's been winter long enough now...fed up with cold, wet and dark to say nothing of ice and snow (although I do know that we've been very lucky here compared to what some people have had/are having!) ...I'm so looking forward to the spring. I made this card to cheer myself up. It's a very simple matted design featuring an Aurora Wings cutie, Spring Sprite. I used copics to colour her, added a stamped sentiment and distress ink around the edges.
Hope you're all enjoying a lovely weekend.

Celebrating the Chinese New Year

Good morning. Over at Sweet Stampin' we are celebrating the  Chinese New Year (Tuesday  5th). We have a choice of themes for you...'Oriental' or 'Piggy'...it's the Year of the Pig...so you choose!
I chose 'oriental' as I don't have many piggy stamps.
The image on my card is a digi (Paperbabe) which I coloured ages ago and never got around to using. She's printed on kraft card and coloured with Polychromo pencils.  The dp is from a small (4.5x 6.5") pad, Far East by DCWV which I've had for ages. These papers are beautiful...textured with gorgeous colours and designs and I tend to hoard  save them for a special occasion. The flower and Chinese character stamp are part of a set of foam backed stamps that I've also had for a very long time, have no idea of make!
I hope you're tempted to play along this week with either of these great themes, just click here to hop on over and see which is the favourite theme choice for the rest of the DT.
