Distressed!

Hello and happy Saturday! This week's theme at Sweet Stampin' is 'distressed' - lovely theme with many interpretations ( love Susan's take on the theme- great thinking and obviously heartfelt!).
It seems ages since I made this type of card, struggled a bit at first but once I got my head round it I really enjoyed it! The background is smooshed Distress oxides, stamped with a script stamp and a Lavinia vine leaf stamp (love this one!) I stamped the fairy, again Lavinia, Oona, with black Versafine ink then arranged the lace, flowers and die cut vine leaves around her.. I added a stamped sentiment and mounted the panel onto Mulberry paper with torn edges. I enjoyed making this and am happy with the result ( unusual for me!)
Please do check out this Challenge, there are some wonderful creations from the DT and we would really love to have more entries this week!
Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.

Christmas at Sweet Stampin' -September Challenge

Good afternoon, this is the card I designed for our September Challenge at Sweet Stampin' Christmas Challenge- scary to think that there are only 3 more to go this year!.
Our theme this month is 'ornaments'...this is an optional theme for entrants, anything Christmas related is ok!
I used a sweet Mo Manning image, coloured with copics and added loads of glitter. The background is made up of embossed squares layered onto red glitter card. The ornament die cut is Memory Box, die cut from red card and pieced with glitter card (disappointed with the colour of the white baubles, they look too pink in the photo!). I used a piece of red twine to 'join' the elf to the die cut ornaments.

As always there's plenty to enjoy over at CaSS, my teamies have produced some fantastic creations this month, so do hop over and take a look.

A card for Ruby

Good evening! I'm running late with my posts  this week, got back from holiday yesterday and was too tired to even look at the computer let alone make a post! There was a time when the 250 mile journey from Devon didn't phase me in the least but those days have gone...sadly! Feeling much better today after a good night's sleep in my own lovely bed!! Washing and ironing all done and we have food in the fridge again, so all good here!
Anyway, this is my card for this week's challenge at Sweet Stampin', the theme is 'for a child'.
This is for my granddaughter who will reach the wonderful age of 10 next month. Last year her card was pink with a fairy and a large donut...how kids change in a year! now her passion is football, her prized possessions her football strip, boots and shin pads!!! Still it's good healthy exercise!
I made a circular easel card. The large football is made from die cut hexagons, the image is a digi by Krista Leigh Smith (formerly Saturated Canary), coloured with copics and fussy cut.  The  sentiment and football are stamped.
Please hop over to Sweet Stampin' to see what my lovely teamies have been  up to this week.
Thanks for visiting, have a good week.

Crafty Catz Challenge #474 - With Sympathy

Good morning, time for a new Challenge at Crafty Catz. This week it's Billie's turn to host, she's picked a great theme for us, 'Sympathy Cards' one I personally do find a challenge, but sadly these cards are often needed and I find it's always easier to make them at a time when you don't actually need one! as always the theme is optional.

Our sponsor this week is the wonderful Morgan's Artworld

and the prize for our lucky winner is

To make my card I coloured the beautiful August Poppy with my trusty copics, cut the image into quarters and rounded the opposite edges of each square with a corner rounder, inked around the edges and attached them to my tent fold card base. I added a stamped sentiment.
Thanks for visiting, don't forget to hop over to Crafty Catz to see the beautiful cards the rest of the team have created. Hope to see you there! Remember the theme is optional, so it's easy to play along.

September Challenge at Crafty Calendar

Good morning and happy weekend. Our September challenge at Crafty Calendar begins today, our theme this month is 'Lots of Layers' sponsored by Oddball Art
Oddball Art Co

I used a sweet sponsor image and sentiment, Nixie the Mermaid image. I coloured the mermaid with copics and glitter pens, fussy cut then shaped her slightly with a ball tool for a little dimension. The papers are from my stash, the sentiment comes with the image.
Visit the Challenge Blog to see the rest of the team's lovely layered creations, hopefully you'll be inspired to play along and join in with your own layered lovelies!

Time for a sketch at Catch the Bug

Stella Says Sketch Challenge

Good morning, it's time for a new sketch challenge at Catch the Bug.
Here's the sketch
and here's my card featuring the beautiful Silhouette Butterfly
I printed the butterfly twice at different angles onto a piece of white cardstock, coloured them with copics, masked with fluid, then flicked brushos ink in matching colours over the card, added the stamped sentiment. The centre butterfly is fussy cut and folded for dimension, mounted on the coloured circle and placed on top.
Thanks for visiting.
