A bit of doodling...

Good morning my lovely friends! Welcome to the weekend and I hope it's a lovely one for all of you!
Saturday means Sweet Stampin' and the challenge this week is to add a bit of doodling! Now,  judging by my lovely teamies it seems that doodling is something you love or you hate- doesn't seem to be any room for ambivalence  here! Can't see a problem myself, you only need to add a few dots or lines! Anyways here's my card, loads of doodling (guess which camp I'm in (shhhh don't tell!). The bear is doodled, I scanned him so I could paper piece him (my own personal digi:) the little hearts are doodled and then I added a dot/dash border. The sentiment is a Stampendous stamp.
now it's time for you to get out those pens and add a few doodles to your creations.. show us which camp you're in! You could win a fabulous prize from our sponsors this week!

Just click here to visit the challenge blog and check out the inspiration from my lovely teamies! Despite their moans and groans they have come up trumps again with some stunning creations...you can have a lot of fun guessing who is 'for' and who isn't!!!
Thanks for visiting!
Happy weekend!
Chris

Deliciously Dark

Hi, happy Friday! It's time for a new challenge at Delicious Doodles the theme this week is 'Black and one other colour', so not too difficult at all! The hardest part for me was deciding which Teri's fabulous images to use!!! I spent ages drooling over them before choosing this beauty! Her name is Blanch and you can find her here. I love this image, but don't be deceived by her- her lovely face hides a secret... what is that she's holding in her hand? Is it a love potion or something more sinister? What's with the skull in the corner? Is it a previous lover? Just don't trust her!
Blanch and the Skull 'n' Roses Corner have been coloured with copics, glossy accents added to the bottle and a touch of glitter to the roses. The cobweb is stamped. The skull 'n' roses image was printed twice, once onto the dp and again onto plain card, which I coloured and cut out and stuck over the dp image using pinflair gel to add some dimension. A few black gems and a piece of black tulle, held in place with a sparkly brad complete my card! I so enjoyed making this!
Why not pop over to Delicious Doodles now and check out the inspiration from my teamies! Hopefully you'll be tempted to join the fun!
Have a great weekend!

Good morning. My card today is for our new challenge at Southern Girls - the theme is Flower Power!- another nice'n'easy one! We're sponsored by Flourish with a Bling and All Dressed Up and I was given this beautiful image to play with! I coloured her with copics then masked her and stamped the sentiment. The papers are LOTV, the die cut corner is Memory Box, ribbon, flowers and pearls from stash.

Please take the time to visit Southern Girls Challenge Blog to see what my lovely teamies have created . We hope you'll be inspired to join us and share your own flowery creations!

For a special lady...

Good morning, Tuesday again already! That means it's time for a new Totally Ladybugs Tuesday challenge at Ladybugs Crafts Ink. The theme this fortnight is a fabulous one- 'For a special
Lady' -set by my lovely, and very talented friend Julie- believe me her blog is well worth a visit!
For my card I used the Winestool Nikki image- isn't she gorgeous! The card was made for my equally gorgeous 'baby' sister's 40th birthday (40 she looks about 25!!!) this image really looks like her!
I made an oval side-step card from black textured cardstock
Nikki is coloured  with copics, her hair is coloured to match my sister's ;), The tag is die cut, numbers were cut on the cricut, a bow, flowers and lots of bling added to finish.
(my sister loved the card!)
Please pop over to Ladybugs Challenge and feast your eyes on the rest of the DTs beautiful cards and we'd love to see what you make for those special ladies!
Have a great day!

Green...and a little bit grumpy!

Good evening! Hope everyone is well, and had an enjoyable weekend! Quite a lot of drama here... my son tripped on the stairs, whilst carrying a very- reluctant- to- be- carried- cat, twisted to avoid flattening said cat and broke his leg- in two places! Never one to do things by halves. He had to have surgery and pins inserted, but is now back home, being pandered to by fiancée! I don't envy her one little bit, he tends to be a little bit grumpy when forced to be inactive!!!

A little bit Grumpy is the name of this cute fairy from The Paper Shelter (just love that look on her face!!!) so I just had to make this card! She's coloured with copics. I followed a sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Thanks for visiting!

...to new adventures...

Good morning my lovely friends! It's time for a new challenge at Hobbycutz and sadly, this is my last DT card for this lovely Challenge Blog. I have been a DT member since their very first challenge, it's been a lovely experience but now I feel it's time for me to move on and make way for some new blood and fresh ideas!
The challenge theme this week is to make a shaped card. I die cut an oval card blank, then made an oval frame which is covered with DP, I used gilding flakes around the edges to make it look aged (a bit like me:( The lovely ornate swirls are of course from the Hobbycutz shop, again they have been covered with gilding flakes. The fabulous atmospheric background and the butterflies are a Delicious Doodles images, you can find them here, here and here. The main image is from Sassy Studios, our lovely sponsors this week. She's called Theodora. I've coloured her with copics and paper- pieced her coat and hat.
I didn't realise, until I'd finished this card, how apt it was for my last challenge... it looks as if she's waving goodbye before setting off a new adventure....
Thanks for looking, and I do hope that you'll find time to pop over to Hobbycutz Challenges to admire my teamie's creations. We'd love to see your shaped cards too!

a big birthday coming up!

Good evening! Ooh, it's been a fabulous day here! Warm and sunny, the birds are singing and the garden really is springing into life! Wonderful! Went for a lovely long walk this afternoon with O/H and Mathilda. She's now comatose on the sofa (O?H will soon follow!!!:), so should be  a peaceful evening too!
Anyway, enough waffle, back to my card. This is the first time I've tried making a pop up box card, such fun!! I followed this amazing tutorial, thanks Janine! it's really clear and easy to follow!
The card is for my beautiful granddaughter, who will very soon be reaching the ripe old age of 7. (Where have the last seven years gone... seems like yesterday she was a tiny baby!)
I've used her favourite colours, purple, pink and turquoise! It has glitter. It has bling, you can't possibly have too much of either where a 7 year old girl is involved! It has a fabulous, exuberant Mo Manning image, I love this girl she's so happy and full of life, just like my Olivia! The cake is a Ladybugs Crafts Ink image , you can see it here. I've cropped it to just use the cake part, the beauty of a digi! The Happy Birthday die cut is made using a freebie from a magazine.

Thanks for looking
Hope you have a lovely evening.

Just flyin' by.....

Good morning,  we've been promised some lovely spring sunshine this weekend here in the UK, let's hope the weather forecast is right! The garden definitely thinks spring is here... daffodils, crocuses, snowdrops all blooming and loads of buds everywhere! Fabulous!
Saturday is Sweet Stampin' day and we've a super challenge for you this week ' Inspired by a book, song or film'- how easy is that?! Despite being an avid reader and not a great lover of film my card is inspired by a film - Amelia. It's about Amelia Earhart, the aviator. The image is a digi from Prairie Fairy, the sentiment stamp is from Stamp Fairy (a lot of fairies about this week:D).
For more inspiration, hop over to Sweet Stampin'  to see what my teamies have made, then show us what you can do!
Have a lovely weekend!

Anything but a card....at Delicious Doodles

Good morning!! I'm so excited to be posting this... my first DT project for Delicious Doodles Challenges!. I just couldn't believe my luck when Teri invited me to join the team!
For this challenge I decided to make a box (after much deliberation and drooling over images) or, I suppose to be exact, I've altered a box .... it started life like this

...first I painted it with 2 coats of white acrylic to cover the pink. Then I used blue and brown shades of distress ink to colour it, using a mask to ink the butterflies on the sides. The top of the lid was decorated by applying grunge paste through a harlequin patterned stencil (a bit of a favourite!:D)and then dabbing the dried paste with blue distress ink... the gorgeous hydrangea is of course a Delicious Doodle image, I printed it 3 times, coloured it with copics then layered it up with pinflair glue and added it to the lid. Pearls and lace added to finish the outside.
Inside the lid I used another DD image, hydrangea and butterfly. This was simply coloured with copics, cut out and glued on!
I made this box for a special friend's birthday. She loves vintage and pretty things, so I hope she'll be pleased with it, I just need to buy something to put in it now!!!
Thanks for looking, I hope you'll take the time to pop over to  Delicious Doodles Challenges to see what the very talented ladies have created... and to add your own creations!
Have a great day!
