Good morning! There's a fabulous new challenge starting at Sweet Stampin' today, one I know that everyone will enjoy....it's to 'use an old stamp'.
There's been a lot of discussion over 'old' stamps amongst the Sweeties...and I'm sure, like us that you have stamps stashed away that haven't seen the light of day for some time....years even! I have to admit that I have no self control when it comes to stamps, I buy new 'must haves' even though I've got loads (some unused, shamefully). Anyway, I really enjoyed sorting through my 'oldies' and rediscovered this quirky cutie! I did use her loads of times when I bought her (before the days I started blogging!) and I loved colouring her again. She's a Moonlight Whispers (Krafting Kimmy) stamp, I don't think she's available any longer(shame!.) I stamped her on kraft paper and used my pencils to colour her, then mounted her so she looks as if she's stepping out from the frame....creepy! I added some die cut cobwebs to my simple LO. The sentiment is computer generated.
Now I know you're going to enjoy rooting through all those long neglected stamps, so I'm looking forward to seeing lots of fabulous entries this week!! If you're stuck for inspiration there's plenty to be seen from my lovely teamies by clicking here. If you need any further incentive to play along the prize this week is none other than a Sweet Stampin' Goodie Bag! Yay!!!
Thanks for visiting
have a great weekend
Chris

Gosh this is going to start bringing back memories Chris, I have so many stamps that I bought when I first started stamping and, like you say, they have been put away never to see the light of day again, shame isn't it, I am trying to resurrect some of my older ones so maybe if I can find one that I remember the name of etc, I will join in, this card is brilliant the perfect image for Halloween superb make Chris.

Gorgeous colouring on kraft, her hair is amazing, Chris. I like the way she steps out from the frame, it's a very clever design. I do believe I have some hidden unused stamps, urm, I might need to dig them up. Hope you're enjoying a relaxing weekend.

OMG... so much attention went into the details of your project! Love the "quirky cutie" image coming out of the frame... so clever. Since I too must have new and won't get rid of old stamp images, you have my blessing on your hoarding. Thanks for including Retro Rubber in your stamping fun this week! Hope to see you often in our gallery.
ReplyDeleteOoh this is lovely Chris - she really does look as if she's stepping out of the frame as well! I have to admit I'm the same as you with stamps and (shamefully) have to say I have more unused ones than used!
ReplyDeleteWhilst I'm here I thought I would mention my Minc machine - it's a machine by Heidi Swapp and it's for foiling. All you have to do is print off an image or sentiment on a LASER printer and then put it through the machine with foil on the top (there's a pocket to put it all in) and the printed area is foiled. Brilliant machine.
Hugs to you Sue Pxxx
Absolutely loving the wicked character of this.

Chris, I love your comment about being shameless when it comes to buying stamps - I am with you on this. Retro Rubber encourages me to look at the oldies in a different way. I love your card, glad that you got to dig out a fun older stamp to play along with us this time. Claire DT
ReplyDeleteYou've made her look very spooky Chris, the stepping out of the frame is great! I checked out Retro Rubber....99% of the stamps I own would qualify lol! Because we all know I have way too many stamps xx
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done with lots of details that are sure to please! I love your stamped image and think that she is ready for Halloween! Thank you so much for playing along with Retro Rubber and hope you will play along with us again soon.
ReplyDeleteI must admit I am a stamp collector from WAY BACK, and shamefully can admit that there are more than a few that have never seen ink! Well done with the cutie that is totally wicked! Love how the image emerges from the frame. Thanks for joining us over at Retro Rubber and come play again soon!
ReplyDeleteLoving the color combo and elements!
