Vintage...or shabby chic?

Good morning, well the weekends here again and that means it's time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin'. Our theme this week is 'Vintage or Shabby Chic' and we're sponsored by Live and Love Crafts.
To make my card (not sure if it's vintage or shabby chic....perhaps a bit of both!) I unearthed a photograph style stamp that I have had for a very loooong time, I have no idea who it's by, it's wood mounted but there's no name on the block, think I bought it from ebay...anyway, I think she's a lovely image and I'm trying to use some of my old and neglected stamps! I stamped her using a dark brown distress ink onto a piece of white cardstock, then roughed up the edges slightly, mounted this onto a blue die cut frame which was generously treated to some aged silver embossing enamel and a few swipes of the brown distress ink. I added this to several layers of dp and card, each of which was distressed, frantaged etc. A little texture paste stencilled onto the blue layer too. The sentiment is LOTV , flowers and metal embelly from stash. It was fun to make, and I'm so pleased I used this lovely stamp again!
Thanks for stopping by today, hopefully you'll be tempted to join in this fab challenge...just click here to visit the Challenge Blog, I'm sure you'll love seeing what the rest of  Team Jacky have created! We'd love to see what you make too...just don't forget to stamp something!

  1. Gorgeous Chris! I actually think your card is a little bit shabby and a little bit vintage, that's what's so great about it! The shabby laces and flowers make a great contrast against the distressed and darkish background. Fabulous! hugs :)

  13. I'd say a bit of both too, but if I'm honest I never quite got the exact difference between them anyway! It's a gorgeous card, very stylish and I'm pleased to see old stamps making an appearance xx
