The bank holiday weekend has arrived...let's hope for some decent weather! Somehow I've agreed to spend most of this weekend looking after granddaughters, the two older girls today and the two year old tomorrow...somehow I know which is going to be the hardest work :)...hoping the sun will be shining (or at least no rain !) they all love to be outdoors!
I have two cards to share today, DT cards for this week's challenge at Sweet Stampin'. The theme is embossing and I used a beautiful wooden stamp (Hero Arts) that has been languishing, forgotten, for ages. I embossed the image with black EP, then went to town with my distress inks. The lovely swirly stamp on the circle was treated in the same way. I used the same inks and a few stamps to create the background, added some die cuts and a blck ribbon. I enjoyed this technique so much I made this card too-
this one is even more simple...stamped, embossed and inked the panel, the background has dry embossed butterflies, lightly inked (sorry doesn't show up too well in photo!) and a simple bow.
There are some beautiful creations from my fellow Sweeties to be seen by clicking here, and a fabulous prize is on offer from our lovely sponsor this week Live and love Crafts so why not join the fun!
Thanks for calling by today, enjoy the weekend!
Chris

ReplyDeleteI love both of these Chris, and seeing your first card reminds me of what I was going to attempt when I first saw the challenge theme rather than what I ended up with!! Ah well, never mind.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.

Stunning cards Chris! both entirely different as well but both equally gorgeous huggles Sue xx
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Thanks so much for joining in the fun at a2z!
ReplyDeleteTwo stunners here, both with a fabulous colour pallet, but the first one is my favourite. Funny I have just use a very old Hero Arts stamp yesterday, I tend to forget about them, poor things.
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen my Grandsons for two weeks, we were off for a week, then they were off for a week, so thrilled to bits to see them this evening, when they were back. Due to SIL job they are allowed to take them out of school with no penalties, both of them have just finished their Stats and are over the moon that they will have had two weeks for Spring Bank instead of the one week.
Enjoy
Kath xx
