Black White and Blue

A quick post from me today with the card I made inspired by the challenge at Aurora Wings , the theme is Black, white and one other colour...using grey scale for skin and hair, just had to join in!
I made a circular card with a stamped and embossed black frame, the background is stamped embossed in white and lightly coloured with distress ink...unfortunately I tipped a load of white powder into my black embossing powder (aaargh, what a Dodo!) so the 'Believe, stamp looks a bit blurry! The gorgeous image is Himalayan blue poppy, such a pleasure to colour! I used a mixture of copics and coloured pencils .
Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Gorgeous, Chris! Your coloring of Himalayan Blue Poppy is fabulous and I love how you've offset her on your round card. The embossing behind is lovely and I think the sentiment looks sort of dreamy and magical with the white specks. Like fairy dust. Thanks so much for joining our B & W + 1 challenge at Aurora Wings. xxD

  8. Beautiful card and wonderful colouring. The black and grey offset the vivid blue perfectly. The embossing gives it a wonderful backdrop and using grey for skin and hair is great to tie in with the theme you created it for. As its just effectively one more colour complementing the main blue we can allow it for our monochrome theme. 10. What a stunning card, Chris! Love your coloring - especially how you captured the shine on the hair and poppy petals - and unique and bold design with lovely soft details. Truly magical! Thank you for joining our latest challenge at Aurora Wings. Mitzi xxx

  11. Hello Chris!
This card is just stunning, a real eyecatcher with the round shape!
I especially love the white stamp-embossed background, it looks so elegant - and of course your beautiful coloring on the image.
And don't mind the accident with the "belive" stamp - I wouldn't have noticed that before I read your description ;-)

Thank you so much for joining the latest Aurora Wings Challenge :-)
