Art Journal page

Good evening! A very late post from me today. I came across a beautiful leather covered book the other day, whilst looking for something completely different. It was given to me by my lovely friend some years ago, I put it away and totally forgot I had it  (there's gratitude for you!). I thought it would make a perfect art journal, so I got out my inks, paints, stamps, pan pastels, stencils etc and made this! The image is one I won some time ago from the The East Wind, and as these images have lovely clean lines I thought I'd be brave and attempt to paint her with acrylics, totally outside my comfort zone!!!. As you can see I'm very much an amateur, but I did enjoy myself and can't wait to have time to do this again! Didn't enjoy clearing up the mess afterwards though...even messier than usual today!
Thanks for looking, have a lovely weekend.
Chris

  2. Chris, I am so impressed. Love your journey and the start of a great one. It's fun to get messy, I am a 'clean' messy person, so don't really have a lot of mess. [comes from nursing].

  9. Great job for not being in your comfort zone. I agree with you that using acrylics creates a mess. Not fond of the cleanup afterward either.. Smile.

  19. Wow Chris, this is fantastic! You would never know this is outside your comfort zone because it is so amazing! I love the patterns in the background, the darker honeycomb and harlequin, and then the white flourish and even touches of black. Wonderful contrasts. Your image is fabulous and I love the quote too. Quite the amazing makeover that book cover had! Well done! hugs :)
