Simple rocker card -plus tutorial

This is my last post as a Guest Designer for Catch the Blog Challenges, I've had a wonderful time designing with Jodie's fabulous images and would like to thank her and the very lovely and talented DT for having me!
I'm delighted to tell you that I've been asked to stay on as a DT member, of course I accepted, so I'll be back next week with some more Bugaboo makes :)

Today I have created a little rocker card and a short tutorial (a first for me!)  to show the process.

Here's what you need- cardstock, dp, various circle dies, ribbon, and a couple of little brads...oh and the
 image of course.
I used Kidz Bella Birthday Balloons available here, and used my copics to colour her.

My card is small, these are the sizes of die I used...size doesn't really matter, you can make it as big or small as you like!
I used dies from different sets to get the sizes I wanted

Using the largest stitched die, cut 1 from cardstock
Using the medium sized stitch die cut 1 from DP
Using the smallest stitched die cut out image
Using the scalloped die cut 1 from cardstock
I used the pink die to cut 1 from DP -( this isn't essential)

Next score and fold the largest cardstock circle and the larger dp circle, then glue the dp onto the cardstock

Layer up the remaining circles, inking edges where required, glue together then glue onto folded circle as in photo.
Basically the card is now complete and can be decorated (or not!) as required.

I added two bows with the tiny brads and a sentiment tag.

Hope this all made sense :)
Thanks for visiting today!

Ahoy there!

Good morning! Well, what a change in the weather after the wonderful Bank Holiday weekend! Don't think I've ever seen more rain than we had yesterday, the road outside our house was like a river and the garden was one huge puddle! I was meant to be having a day out with my daughter and granddaughters at Chessington, but we thought better of it...narrow escape there, especially as I fell down a step in the garden on Sunday and am a bit bruised and achey- no real damage done though so I was lucky!
Today we start our new challenge at Fab'n'Funky, the theme is 'for a child' . We have a lovely sponsor this week too, Little Miss Muffet, who gave the DT some adorable images to play with. I chose to use this cute little pirate, he's available  here. I used my copics to colour him, then fussy cut and stood him in front of the porthole, which I made by using magazine freebie stamps from 2 different sets, they fitted together perfectly! The sentiment stamps were from the same sets, again the fonts match well!
Please hop over to Fab'n'Funky for more inspiration from my lovely teamies and of course we'd be delighted if you choose to join us this week.
Thanks for visiting!

A real princess

Good morning and happy weekend, a nice long one here in the UK as it's a bank holiday on Monday, we've been forecast good weather too...we'll see! I have the granddaughters this weekend...they want a barbecue, so that's probably put paid to any hope of good weather in the vicinity of the SE! Glorious sunshine, cloudless skies...I mention the barbecue word and the heaven's open!!!
Anyways, back to the card...our new challenge at Sweet Stampin' this week is 'paper piecing'. I succumbed to temptation a few weeks ago and bought a job lot of stamps from ebay...a real bargain as most of them were unused, this sweet little Saturated Canary girl was amongst them. I thought at the time that it would be a perfect stamp to paper piece. I pieced the mattresses, cushion and part of her dress  using some treasured old LOTV papers. The rest is coloured with copics. I really enjoyed this project.
Thanks for stopping by today, please hop over here to see my teamies fabulous paper-pieced projects, then why not have a go yourself, just remember to stamp something, somewhere on your creation.
Have a fabulous weekend and may the sun shine on you!

Liquid Therapy

It's 'Humour Me Wednesday' over on Catch the Bug Challenges and as 25th May is Wine Day I was inspired to make this card! I used this fun image, it's called 'friends don't let friends wine alone-2' and is available here. I kept the design quite simple as there's a lot going on  in the image...those girls are certainly having a great time! The sentiments are from a recent acquisition, a set of stamps by Creative Expressions called 'Cheers to you'...I think I'm going to get plenty of use out of this set!
I hope this made you smile today:)
Please check out the fun inspiration over at Catch the Bug

Retro Chic

Good morning... er afternoon!... not so warm today so thought I'd better do a bit of housework first, not my first choice of an enjoyable way to spend a morning but sometimes I have to give in and vacuum up the dog hair! Wouldn't think that a short coated dog could distribute so much hair so far...and I won't even mention the dog slobber...still my lovely girl is worth it!

Anyway my card today is for our new challenge at Fab n Funky, sponsored by The Paper Shelter. Our lovely hostess this week is Wends, it's always worth a visit to her blog, not only does she make beautiful cards she writes such lovely blog posts too! The theme she has chosen is 'Retro Chic' -please visit the challenge blog for more information.
I used my copics to colour this sweet image, of a young 50's girl, actually titled Retro Chic...
Papers from stash, a 'retro flower' punch ...had this for years but still love it. I stamped a little border of flowers, they match the punch so well! and a sentiment.
Thanks for visiting today, hope you choose to play along with this lovely challenge, just click here for loads of wonderful inspiration from my talented teamies!

Say it with flowers

Weekly Challenge!

Hi, I'm back with my GDT card for this week's Saturday Challenge at Catch The Bug, the theme for this is 'Say it with Flowers'. I chose to use this beautiful Rose Bud Tag, which I printed twice, coloured with copics then cut the rose image from one of the tags, shaped it using a ball tool and adhered it over the image to add dimension(sorry, doesn't really show in the photo!). Papers are Anna Marie Designs - Blissful Cocoa, the heart diecut is Tim Holtz, and the corner one is a China die. I've added a scrap of lace, some narrow ribbon and a stamped sentiment.
Just click here to enjoy the lovely creations from the team and to add your own beautiful creation.

A little bit grumpy!

Good morning, time foe a new challenge at Sweet Stampin' this week the theme is 'myth, magic, fantasy'. To make my card I coloured this cute digi image, A little bit grumpy, from The Paper Shelter. I've had this image for ages and used it several times, it's lovely to colour and I've seen that look on my granddaughters' faces when things aren't going quite their way!  The stamped  sentiment is from a set by Paper Smooches.

There's lots more to see over at Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog, my lovely teamies have been busy this week!

Christmas at Sweet Stampin' - May Challenge

It's hard to believe that it's time for the May Challenge already...but here it is! As always, at Christmas at Sweet Stampin', anything Christmas related goes!
I was lucky enough to win this sweet Aurora Wings digi, Reindeer Sprite, a while ago. It's such a lovely image that I decided to keep my card very CAS so that the focus remained on him. I coloured him with copics. The sentiment is stamped.

Fabulous 40s

Good morning, this week's challenge at Fab' n' Funky is to use embossing...wet or dry, chosen by our lovely hostess, the very talented Pat K
This is the year of 40th birthdays for my daughter and her besties (her hubby too!) and she asked me to make cards for her 2 best friends, they've been together since they started Grammar school at 11 years old!
I used the same basic design for both but only the top one has embossing...both wet and dry.
I prefer the red version, the image really remind me of the three of them together!

There's plenty more inspiration to be seen over at Fab'n'Funky, so why not hop over and take a peek- and of course we'd love it you choose to play along!
