Believe...

Believe it or not this card is actually a dusky purple and silver, tried and tried but couldn't get a better photo...sun, shade indoors and out- this is the best I could get!  The 'snow banks' don't show up very well either! I came indoors for a while after sitting in the garden (in the shade!!) reading for most of the day...I do love summer, I'm looking forward to Wimbledon next week too :)
I had a little play with stamps and ink making the little Christmas snow scene. The sweet rabbit and 'Believe' stamp are Lavinia, the sleigh and reindeer are not (can't remember the make!) I couldn't decide whether to emboss the word stamp in white or silver...wish I'd chosen the white! This one honestly does look a lotter better IRL....believe!!!
It's starting to cool down a bit now, headache has settled down so I'm off to finish my book.
Thanks for stopping by
have a lovely evening
Chris

Oo-er...

Good morning, this week at Crafty Catz we have a lovely new challenge for you, the optional theme is 'favourite colour combo' picked for you by our lovely Jac who is hosting this week.
Our sponsor this week is the fabulous Morgan's Artworld
with this wonderful prize

The DT were provided with gorgeous images to work with...I chose the quirky Daisy Hopwood, she has such a wonderful expression, not sure if she's startled, bemused or just a bit crazy!!! Anyway, I love this image and loved colouring it! My favourite colour combo is blues and browns, the papers are from Heartfelt Creations (cherished and hoarded), it's a simple matted design, I cut around the edges of the flowers on the dp to add a bit of interest. I haven't added a sentiment yet as I'm probably going to use it next time I forget someone's birthday...which probably will be sooner rather than later...
We hope you choose to play along with us at Crafty Catz this week...hop on over now and take a look at the inspiration cards from my lovely teamies, you won't be disappointed!
Thanks for visiting, have a great weekend

Hello, it's Oldie But A Goodie  at Catch the Bug today, so hop on over for some fabulous inspiration showcasing some of Jodie's older-but-still-gorgeous digis!
The day I made this card it was absolutely lashing it down so a welly boot seemed like a good choice!

I used copics to colour, added a little glitter here and there and glossy accents to the raindrops. Papers from never-ending stash, red Nuvo Crystal drops, the sentiment is a very old wood backed stamp.

It's summer...honestly...

Good morning, at Sweet Stampin' this week we're celebrating the Summer Solstice with summer themed cards. It's hard to believe that midsummer has officially passed...hopefully we WILL get some summer sunshine soon!
I made a twisted easel card featuring this cute little guy from Mo Manning, I think he may have been the first digi I bought from her store. He's coloured up with copics, I gave him some grass to stand on and if you look closely you'll see the cloudy background...looks fine on the card but hard to see in the photo.
The little kite acts as a stopper to keep the card upright.
Hope you choose to join us at Sweet Stampin' this week we'd all love to see some sunny, summery creations.
Have a lovely weekend

Going round in circles at Crafty Catz

Good morning, this week our challenge at Crafty Catz is hosted by Ginny, the theme she's picked is 'Circles', so plenty of scope there if you wish to follow the theme!
Our sponsor this week is
who generously provided the DT with some lovely images to play with.
I used Pose of an elongated triangle ,which I printed in several sizes, coloured with copics and die cut into circles. I arranged them onto my bubble patterned DP and added a few die cut 'bubbles'. The bubbles are coated with glossy accents.
There's loads more to see at Crafty Catz where my teamies have been busy creating some fabulous inspiration for you. Hope you choose to play along this week, remember the theme is optional...anything goes at Crafty Catz!
Thanks for visiting
enjoy your day.

It's 'Oldie But A Goodie Day' at Catch the Bug...I made a card featuring the cutest little girl...all dressed up like Mum, something little girls have always loved to do...even more fun if it involves a little (or a lot!!!) of lipstick. I've used copics to colour and soom beautiful papers from Craft Consortium, Bloom Beautiful. I added a punched flower and leaves (both v. old punches!) a button and a stamped sentiment.
The sketch is from Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

A card for me...

Hi, it seems like ages since I had time to play and create a card just for fun...what with DT stuff, holidays and granddaughters, time just flies past! Yesterday I had some time to play with my lovely Lavinia stamps and gelli plate...if you saw my green stained fingers you'd know exactly what I'd been up to! I made two fairly similar (well, very similar!) cards...this one I brayered DI inks directly onto the paper (no gelli plate here!) then stamped my images using various colours of Versafine Clair inks, added some touches of white gel pen ink and added a bit of sparkle with Wink of Stella (sorry it doesn't show up in the poho). I kept the design totally CAS - find it difficult and unnecessary to do anything else with these stamps! I haven't added a sentiment because I use these cards for all for sorts of occasions..
Not a very good photo, the card is white ...usually we have better daylight for taking photos in June!!!
Thanks for visiting, hope you've had a good weekend so far, enjoy the rest of it!

Crafty Catz Challenge #466- Optional twist- Male card

Good morning, the weekend is almost upon us once again and it's time for this week's challenge at Crafty Catz., Aunty Sue is standing in for Dianne as host this week, the optional theme, with Father's Day in mind, is to make card for a male. We are sponsored by Dr Digi.

The DT were given some fun and fabulous images to play with, I used Chill Out Chaz to make my card. As soon as I saw this brilliant image I knew it would make a perfect card for my husband's best mate- that blissful look on his face as he blots out the world and listens to his favourite rock music! It even has a poster of a camper van on the wall...Terry's dream (unfortunately not a dream shared by his wife ...). I used my copics to colour, background dp has musical notes, just added a die cut keyboard and a stamped sentiment.
As always there's loads of inspiration to be gained from hopping over to Crafty Catz to see what my lovely teamies have come up with this week.

I'll be back later today with this Friday's Freebie from Bugaboo

June Challenge at Sweet Stampin' Christmas

My second card today is for our June Challenge at Christmas at Sweet Stampin', the optional theme this month is 'Non-traditional colours', I went with my favourite blue/brown combo...I used a set of dies from Marianne Design that I've had for years, papers are magazine freebies. The little bear was stamped onto white card, coloured with copics and fussy cut then fixed to the tag with foam pads and silicone to add some dimension.
We're halfway through this years challenges now...scary thought really!
Hope you choose to play along this month!-
Thanks for visiting

Bloomin' June!

Good morning, I've two cards to share today...this one is for our new challenge starting today at Fab'n' Funky, hosting this week is our very talented Pat K and the theme is 'June Blooms'.
I decided to try something different (for me, anyway!) this week, I used a previously untouched set of floral stamps by Hobby Art...one of those buys I really 'needed' at the time...then didn't quite know what to with! So, a bit of making and stamping onto a piece of mixed media paper that I'd previously sloshed some  water and Zig pen ink onto delicately water coloured. Coloured the flowers using Zig pens and a white gel pen, added some random stamping to the background using a grey Versafine Clair ink and a touch of  watery white paint through a stencil, stamped the sentiment and doodled a border. It was fun doing something a bit different!
Hope you choose to play along at Fab' n' Funky this week, just click on the link to be transported to the Challenge!

I'll be back later today with my second card.

Lookin' Good!

Good afternoon, I'm back from my hols and trying to catch up with all the things I didn't get around to doing before I went! I'm usually pretty well organised ...but not this time! At least I've been food shopping today so we can eat tonight :)
Today's card is for the new challenge at Sweet Stampin', this week's optional theme is Fathers' Day. I don't make Father's Day cards so I'm sharing the card I made for my Son In Law's birthday last month.
The image is of course from Dr Digi, Dumbbell Derek, I've used my copics to colour. The papers and sentiment magazine freebies. I cut out some extra stars, scattered them around and coated them with Glossy Accents.
For a lovely variety of inspiration for making those difficult masculine cards please hop over to Sweet Stampin' to see what my fabulous teamies have created for you, then please link up your own projects, we'd love to see them! Remember, the theme is optional, just include some stamping.
Thanks for visiting, have a great weekend

Crafty Calendar June Challenge- Masculine

Good morning, this is a scheduled post as I'm away for a week, off to sunny (I hope!!!) Cornwall this time!  My card today is for our June Challenge at Crafty Calendar, the theme is 'masculine' and we're sponsored by Lawn Fawn
Lawn Fawn
I made this card for my husband's birthday, he loves his bike! The stamps are a Woodware set,  I stamped the bicycle with Versamark and embossed with white detail EP., sponged various shades of Distress and Distress Oxide inks over the image and die cut with a stitched rectangle die. The papers are Craftwork Cards- The Great Outdoors (bargain buy at a craft show...I wanted the bicycle paper!)I stamped the spanner image around the edge of the bottom layer of DP to make a frame. Believe it or not the sentiment is stamped with the same colour brown ink as the spanners...it must have reacted to the glossy accents!
For some great inspiration for those 'difficult' masculine cards take a look at the fabulous creations from my teamies HERE. We'd love to see what you create for the men/ boys in your lives too!
Thanks for visiting
See you in a week!
