Dragon Stone Castle

Good afternoon, I've had some time to play this weekend, dug out my neglected inks, brushos and my beloved Lavinia stamps. I wanted to create a card with a darker atmosphere to feature this gorgeous castle stamp. I pictured a forest clearing, with the castle surrounded by trees and lit up by the last light of a fiery sunset. I added a few die cut bats as I don't have a tiny dragon which is what I really wanted!
Most of the stamps used to create this scene are Lavinia, I also used another tree stamp and a script stamp to add to the cobwebs around the frame. I wish I'd stamped the cobwebs over the main image now...but too late! Will try it another time!
Still trying to get the colours of the brushos off my fingers...they're really stubborn!
Thanks for visiting
Chris

  3. A really brilliant creation, gorgeous colours of the background and you have definitely achieved what you wanted. The images in the background are also perfect and in my humble opinion I think the webs would have been too much, they are perfect where they are.

  4. Hi, Chris! It's amazing! At first, I thought it might be a haunted castle around Halloweenie Night - and then I saw that blazing sun in the background. It's a glorious Autumn feel - something we won't be feeling here until November or December, when the leaves finally begin changing. Off topic - your card makes me miss our bats. We used to have a lot of bats in our "neighborhood" but for some reason, they have all left. Perhaps an abandoned barn or hollow tree was cut down, whatever the cause, I seldom see any and miss them fiercely. It was always magical sitting out on the back stoop at dusk and watching them dive bomb the mosquitoes and other unsavory bugs. Back to your card, I especially like the way the bats and castle stand out in black, and everything else is a little more muted. It's lovely! And now for my DT hat (you were wondering when I'd finally get to that, weren't you? LOL) Such a pleasure to see your pretty card at Lavinia World Challenges. Hope to see more of your creations in the future.

I've been playing with alcohol inks today and tried unsuccessfully to get blue, green and purple ink off my fingers! xx
