Good afternoon, well what a change in the weather! Even this morning it was pleasantly warm and sunny if a little breezy in the garden...now it's not! Pleasantly warm or sunny that is! So I'm indoors, and not really wanting to settle to anything. I've done a little colouring and am thinking about continuing with the rag doll I started to make yesterday...well I cut out the pattern but that's as far as I've got, too lazy to iron the calico or get the sewing machine out. ...
Anyway, I thought I'd share this journal page with you, inspired by the Library Challenge and 'The Girl on the Train' book cover. I used various stamps, really love the Inkylicious face stamp, it always stamps so beautifully! I did a bit of doodling, sloshed on black paint used some stencils and texture paste... intended to heat emboss the white sentiment stamp but had a bit of a disaster with the EP sticking where I didn't want it, so brushed it all off and drew over the versamarked text with a white pencil- not a complete success but it's ok, it's my journal and I can do what I like!! I finished by flicking some white gesso over the black area using a fan brush (fun!)
I think I might finish reading my book now- trying to ration myself a bit as I'm down to my last library book and goodness knows when they will reopen! Fortunately I still have a pile of hoarded paperbacks so they'll last for a while.
Thanks for visiting
Chris

ReplyDeleteWow! What a fabulous dramatic page! Thank you so much for joining us at Try It On Tuesday! I found that book enthralling but although I enjoyed the following film it didn't have quite the same effect! Hope you can make your books last! Chrisx
ReplyDeleteOh that is just gorgeous, very interesting to look at Chris. I daren't stray to anything else other than paper crafts or it would just be another unfinished project. The weather here is freezing, seriously cold enough to snow but in the sun it is boiling! Weird!!
ReplyDeleteWow Chris what a fabulous Journal page you have created love all the layers. Hope you get to show us your rag doll when you get it finished .
ReplyDeleteHope all is well you you.

ReplyDeleteWeather up and down again, and you sound just like me, can't be bothered getting the sewing machine out, can't be bothered crafting as such, its all very odd, haha...enjoy today whatever you do.xx
This is fabulous! Love the result of the flicking - gives a creative, artsy look to your journal!
ReplyDeleteI do hope the library won’t be issuing any fines for late book returns! I have been getting my top up of books from Waterstones. If you spend £20 it is post free. Love your lay out here. Like Babs above hope we get to see your rag doll. Hugs Mrs A.
