Good morning, it's been an eventful week for me- I had my first dose of the vaccine on Monday so impressed with the professionalism and efficiency of the staff and volunteers at the centre, very professional but friendly too. We were a bit early for our appointments and expected to wait in the car for a while- but no - we were in, vaccinated , and back out before the time of our actual appointments arrived- very stress free and painless. I did have a slight reaction, felt extremely tired the next day- my legs felt like two lumps of wood but it only lasted for one day- a very small price to pay. Yesterday I finally got my walk with my daughter, snow and ice have melted, just a bit of rain to contend with, it was so lovely to see her and have a good old chat as we walked.
Back to today's card- it's Friday so that means a new challenge at Crafty Catz, hosted this week by our lovely Janette , the optional twist is 'In the garden' which is lovely, I'm so looking forward to getting out in mine!Lots of lovely growth out there already, snowdrops, crocuses and grape hyacinths already out, other spring bulbs poking their leaves up, buds on the magnolia and camellia to name but a few. There are even a few hardy roses still blooming.
Our sponsor this week is Beccy's Place
The beautiful silhouette I used, kindly given to me by our Sponsor, is part of a digital set called Garden Silhouettes. I printed it straight onto my design paper, then used a die cut archways to frame it. I stamped the branch and leaves onto the dp and over the arch. I printed the sentiment, part of the same digital set, onto another scrap of the dp, added a flower shaped brad to finish.
The Crafty Catz ladies have created some stunning card this week using some beautiful sponsor images, so do hop over and take a look, we would love to see your beautiful creations too- remember it's 'anything goes' the theme is always optional.
Thanks for stopping by today
have a great weekend
Chris

My hubby was never a 'gardener' just a lawn mower! But, he 'pinched' a few Snowdrop bulbs from a batch his mother bought. They've multiplied. Always make me smile to see them.
Hi Chris this is gorgeous a lovely scene and yes I feel the same as you I am biting at the bit to get out into my mums garden there is so much I need to do, take care

Chris your card is gorgeous with the beautiful scene. So glad that you were able to get your vaccine. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card, Chris. Glad you got to have a catch up with your daughter after so long! Good to hear that you've had your first dose of the vaccine. I had mine yesterday and was also impressed with the speed and efficiency. My arm feels like it's about 5 lbs heavier than my other one and I've felt really tired today, but apart from that I'm fine. Not a bad price to pay all things considered! xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Chris, love the silhouette image, and your stamped leaves and branch just finish it off..glad you are jabbed up and ready to go, it must be an incredible relief.

Beautiful card Chris, lovely colours and image. Glad you got your jab sorted, I had a reaction too I felt like I had been run over by a bus the day after just ached all over but it passed after a day but it was worth it. Glad too that you got your walk with your daughter. Have a good weekend.

Beautiful card, love the cascading branches over the arch. Michelle x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. I saw it in the Catz thread and was admiring it there. I like how you created this card and the colors. So glad you shared over at Aud Sentiments.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful card Chris. I just love the silhouette and how you have showcased it. So glad to hear you got the jab and as you say a small price to pay. Though my legs feel like wood today after a weekend of painting!! No word on my jab yet but hopefully soon.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE that background paper Chris, the watercolour effect is stunning. I was actually surprised to read it was designer paper and not something you had painted yourself. The colours make me think of a beautiful sunset. It was a great idea to add the arches and then stamp over the top, the effect is wonderful. Well done!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Beccy
Beautiful card- love your garden silhouette images thru the window! Wonderful! Lucky you- the vaccines in our state are slow, and I am not going to see one until late next month I think.....
ReplyDeleteThis is really beautiful Chris love the DP too ...We haven't had the vaccine yet because our surgery has ran out of vaccine..I'm not concerned for me but for Paul. We went on the government website after receiving our letter and the nearest places to get the vaccine was Brighton!!! LOL xxxx
ReplyDeleteYou created such a fantastic effect with this arch, wow, looks so 3-dimensional!
