Plaid or Gingham at Sweet Stampin' Challenges

Good morning, it's another Christmas make from me today. This fortnight's challenge at Sweet Stampin' is to use gingham or plaid on your creations- a little or a lot, it's your choice.

For this card I used my pencils to colour the cute Mo Manning image (just look at his wistful little face!) which I had printed onto kraft, then die cut using a wonky stitch die. The sentiment is stamped with Versamark  ink and embossed in white.
There are some wonderful makes from from the rest of the team over at the Challenge Blog so do hop over and take a look.

Thanks for visiting, keep safe and have a great weekend

Who can't wait...

Good morning, as it's the last Wednesday of the month (really? already?) this week's challenge at
has the theme of CHRISTMAS.
It was a great chance for my to use my new Anita Jeram stamps (Colorado Crafts)- I fell in love with these cute pups as soon as I saw them.

I stamped the images with black Memento ink and coloured them with Copic markers. I kept the layouts simple to focus on the image. The papers are from Polkadoodle and the sentiments are from the same set of stamps as the images.

If you're like me and sadly behind with your Christmas makes this year, why not create something for our challenge? It's already almost August- Christmas will be here before you know it ! :)))

Crafty Catz Challenge #561 -Anything goes with an optional twist

Good morning, it's time for our last Crafty Catz Challenge before the summer break,

 sponsored this week  by  BUGABOO

As many of you will be aware, sadly the shop has had to close, so grab this chance to win the digis used by the team this week.

Our lovely Nick is hosting this week- her optional twist is
Gone Fishing
My card features the fabulous Gus Fishing, the image is coloured with Copic markers, I've added a few die cuts to complete my scene.
The sentiment comes with the image and made me laugh!
Please hop over and see what the rest of the team have created for you this week and it would be great if you could join us with a lovely creation of your own.
Our next challenge will be 3rd September.

Thanks for visiting, have a great weekend

Monochrome mauves

Good morning,  this is my DT card for this week's challenge at Fab'n'Funky. It's my turn to host, the theme I chose is MONOCHROME.

I coloured up a beautiful (free) image I found online- really needed a little colouring therapy at the time! I used soft shades of mauve and purple which is quite an unusual choice for me. I matted the coloured image onto an embossed panel and a layer of DP. Three brads (so old they're probably vintage!) a mauve ribbon and stamped sentiment to finish.

Apologies for slightly dingy colours, the embossed panel and cardstock is actually bright white!

There's more to see over at Fab'n'Funky, so please do take a look, it would be great to have you play along this week!

Thanks for visiting

keep yourselves safe

Chris

Just because...

Good afternoon, it's a beautiful day here, I've come indoors to escape from the sun for a little while and thought I would share this card that I made just because I could. It seems like ages since I had the time or inclination to create something that I didn't actually need for a DT or a specific occasion.

I die cut a square of white cardstock, stamped the floral image and masked it off. I used a stencil (magazine freebie!) and black ink to create the chevron pattern. I stamped the little girl (a Vera Lane stamp), masked that too and stamped the flowers she is sitting on and added the stamped sentiment. My copic markers were used for colouring both images. I placed the panel on a black card base.

I've spent most of the morning in the garden, sitting in the shade -reading. I did give Marvin a good brushing though, his adult coat is starting to come through now, at the grand age of 6 months. He's looking very handsome but oh boy everywhere gets covered in his hair- every day the vacuum cleaner is absolutely full of it and  when I brush him it comes out in handfuls! I keep thinking we're going to have a bald dog at this rate- but oh no the hair is never-ending- his coat is thick, shiny and getting a much darker red. Here he is- my handsome boy! Looks as if butter wouldn't melt- looks are very deceptive...!

Thanks for visiting today, keep safe and healthy and cool!

Make your own background at Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Good morning, it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin'.
The theme this fortnight is
'MAKE YOUR OWN BACKGROUND'

So I had a little play with Distress Oxide Inks, a sunray stencil and a lovely Nuvo Mica Mist spray- wish the shimmer and sparkle showed up in the photo!
I let the background dry thoroughly (not easy for me...I'm too impatient!) and then stamped the beautiful seahorse (Lavinia Stamps) using a dark green Versafine Clair ink. I used a clear glitter pen to pick out some of the scales and the tendrils (again not showing in photo- but it does look pretty IRL).
I finished the edges with some Frantage crushed glass glitter.

It's well worth paying a visit to Sweet Stampin' challenge blog just to see the beautiful cards my lovely and talented teamies have produced this week- we'd love to see what you make of this challenge theme too, so why not play along this fortnight?

Thanks for visiting

Crafty Catz Challenge # 560 Optional twist- Christmas in July

Good morning, hope you've all had a good week and are safe and well. It's my youngest granddaughter's 2nd birthday today, hard to believe she's 2 already, I seem to have missed so much of her babyhood because of all the restrictions and she's changed from a baby to a bright and beautiful little girl, a real chatterbox with a mind of her own (!!) not at all shy! Happy Birthday little Charlotte.

On to the card- this week's challenge at Crafty Catz, hosted by our lovely Ginny, has the (optional) theme of CHRISTMAS IN JULY

Our sponsor for this week is

Heather Valentin - Colour of Love

PRIZE...3 IMAGES FROM SHOP
http://lacysunshine.weebly.com/

The image I have used is Christmas Star, coloured with Copics, glitter markers and a white gel pen, touches of glitter added to the snow. The papers are from Polkadoodle, I've added some die cuts and 3 tiny buttons.

As always there's plenty to see over at Crafty Catz so do hop over and see what my lovely teamies have created this week.
Thanks for stopping by, have a lovely weekend.

I'll be back...

Good afternoon  my lovely friends and followers,

A brief explanation for my unscheduled absence- my  brother lost a short but traumatic battle with bowel cancer and passed away last month. I have needed some time to spend with my family and to try to get my head around the sudden loss of such a wonderful man. I'm still struggling with this but need to keep myself busy, so intend to be back blogging on Friday...fingers crossed.

Chris
