This week's challenge at Crafty Catz is sponsored by The Paper Shelter, I used one of their fabulous digis to create this card for my granddaughter. I'm disappointed with the photo as the '8' is actually a pale greyish blue and looks a lot nicer than it does here but too late to try taking another photo as Em's bithday was at the beginning of May. The cute digi is 99 messages, 3 chats... which I've coloured with Copic markers and fussy cut to sit on the hand- cut '8' . the sentiments are die cut and layerd up for dimension. Em loved her card- she would also love to have a mobile phone but her parents are far too sensible to give one to a child her age who doesn't need one! She'll have to wait until she's at 'big school' I'm happy to say! This card fits the optional twist this week - 'All about the girls' picked by Sue, our lovely host for this challenge. Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great weekend,
Chris

Your card for Emily is awesome Chris!
ReplyDeleteWell, almost everyone has a mobile phone, so I get that Emily wants one too. But when she is at 'big school', that's a great age for a phone and kids;)
Wise parents too
Emily must have loved this beauty Chris, beautifully coloured image teamed with gorgeous papers, she'll appreciate a phone more when she goes to " big school"
ReplyDeleteHi Chris,
ReplyDeletewhat a perfect card for an 8 year old.
My your cutting out of the eight is fantastic.
As always your colouring is perfect and I love the dotty paper used.
Don't you just hate it when a card looks much better in the flesh and the camera lies.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
What a marvelous and personalised card, Chris. Emily will love it; I do! Thank you for playing along with us on The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog. We hope to see you again soon. Hugs, Lori DT
ReplyDeleteEmily's parents are my kind of people! I've imagined your card in the light you would have liked and it's even more beautiful than I can see here. Great design and fabulous die cuts. Thanks for sharing this with us at The Paper Shelter and for using one of our images!

Super cute Chris. LOve your colours and design. Brilliant hand cut figure of eight! Thought it had been done on a machine. Emily is too young yet for a phone. Trouble is when they get one? We seem to loose them a little, always looking at something on them.

Perfect card for an 8 year old Chris I'm not surprised Em loved it, the image is cute and your hand cut figure 8 is just great. Have a good weekend.

Absolutely stunning arty card for Emily, gorgeous
ReplyDeleteYou can tell by the look on that child's face why they shouldn't be getting cell phones that young, lol! There is too much crazy in the world that they don't need to see. I love the whole design of her special card, Chris. That letter eight is amazing! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, what a great card this is and I'm not surprised your Emily loved it! You've done brilliantly hand cutting out that 8 - so neat - and the digi is coloured wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteI can remember our Emily wanting a phone at that age too and also being told to wait until she got to 'big' school! She finally got her phone at the end of Primary, as her birthday is end June, and my goodness she was soooo happy!
Hope you have a lovely weekend,
Sarah
