Good morning, it's been another hot and very dry week here, haven't felt like doing a lot! I've sat about reading a lot of the time, made a dress for my youngest granddaughter...she loves it because it 'spins' when she 'swishes'! Had a lovely afternoon with my two sisters a few days ago- it's always great to see them both together, my brother who lives locally wasn't invited as he has covid for the third time! This time the symptoms were worse than previously but fortunately he's over it now. My two youngest granddaughters and DIL came for the afternoon on Wednesday, and at last, Charlotte the 3 year old, has decided that Marvin is not going to eat her! No shrieking in fear every time he gets within 10 feet of her and it was a real joy to watch them playing together and see her laughing when he tried to catch the bubbles! Marvin had a great time too- two little girls to play ball with, he couldn't believe his luck.
I made this card just because I could, the sweet little mermaids are both Mo Manning digis, coloured with Copic markers, papers from theWorks, some stamped shells and starfish, hand-drawn seaweed (I don't have any seaweed dies!) and lots of tiny pearls.
It's a glorious day today- warm sunshine, cloudless sky and a lovely cool breeze so I'm off to sit in the garden and read for a while- I'll try to ignore Marvin with his pesky ball as I know he's going to join me! (It won't be easy!)

Super cute Chris. FABulous colours and your design is GORgeous. LOve your touch of seaweed, who needs a die when you can make them like these.
ReplyDeleteGrandson & partner have just got over their third lot of Covid too. It's still going strong out there so I'm still taking care.

ReplyDeleteI love mermaids so this card is right up my street. Loved the little mermaid as a child and as an adult. I also have red hair which means I always wanted to be Ariel when I was young. Your colouring is gorgeous and the card is just so sweet. Thank you for sharing and for taking part in the Polkadoodles digi choosday challenge. Happy crafting! Mel x

ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty card and a great shape, too. Good to hear that you've been getting some family visits; hope your brother recovers soon. After all this time the 'rona eventually got me at the beginning of the summer holidays but thankfully I got off pretty lightly. Marvin looks as cute as ever! xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet card, beautifully coloured and I love the sea. You've got to love a swishy skirt. Thanks for Shopping your Stash with us this time.
ReplyDeleteThis is just full of sweetness and delight Chris I have enjoyed reading your post I am so glad that the little one has got used to Marvin it makes such a difference when they are not frightened and have fun together, it is going to be another hot week which I am not looking forward to fortunately my mum's room is quite cool so I am able to do some coloring and make up a few cards. The dress sounds delightful Chris, you need to show it to us!! My grandsons used to be very fearful of our dog and now they are the ones who tease the poor old fella lol. If you throw a ball for him he gets it then hides it as he is just too old to be bothered! I absolutely love this mermaid card, so stinkin' cool!
ReplyDeleteLovely project Chris. Thank you for sharing with us over at World Wide Open Design Team Challenge.

Could NOT possibly get any cuter than this, Chris! Love those wonderful colors, and Marvin looks just like the card on your other post! How creative to make a spinning card. Such sweetness your family shares! Love hearing about how much you are appreciated! Big hugs, de
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning card Chris! Those two Mo cuties look adorable together! I have them both I think and feel guilty neither has seen ink, so I must remedy that! The waves paper is just gorgeous on this and I'm well impressed with your hand-drawn seaweed, looks fabulous! Stunning colouring too, love their hair! Sounds like you've had lovely days with family too, fabulous for Marvin to have a willing playmate now in your youngest granddaughter. Big hugs, Wends xoxo
