September Challenge at Crafty Calendar

Good morning, it's hard to believe that September has arrived...it's far too soon!!! I'm not ready for summer to end yet- but at least we had one this year. OK we did have some unbearably hot weather for a while but on the whole it's been an amazing few months with so much wonderful sunshine- I'm hoping it's not over yet!

Our new challenge at Crafty Calendar begins today- this month the theme is 'Anything Goes' and we are sponsored by the fabulous Sheepski Designs.

My card was made using the lovely  Mini Tree image.I printed the image onto multi media paper, masked and stamped the fir trees in the background using Versafine Clair ink, then sponged the sky and snowy ground using Distress inks. I coloured the image withdistress inks and water, stamped the sentiment and then had fun flicking white ink for the falling snow. I'm a bit out of my comfort zone colouring with the Distress Inks so I'm quite pleased with how it turns out....and for once I managed not to put a dirty great inky fingerprint in the wrong place!

As always there are some lovely creations from my talented teamies over at Crafty Calendar so please do hop over to enjoy them, I hope you'll  be inspired to join us this month.

Thanks for visiting

Have a great weekend.

Chris

  1. Morning Chris - oh now I love that image and your card! Great scene you've created and the mini and tree really pop!

I can't believe that's it's September either - where did August go? Only 3 days and my Emily is back at school! Year 11 and GCSE's this time, it's scary!

  2. What a beautiful card Chris I love the background you created too. As for the summer slipping away maybe we will get a late few days too like the September we used to get all bright and sunny but a chill in the air. I can live with that. Xx

  6. Hi Chris,
oh this card is wonderful and your lovely scene you have created with that mini digi image is gorgeous.
Your colouring with those inks is fantastic and I love the ink falling snow too.
My son would love this card as he has always been a mini fan and has a mini cooper the old type waiting to be restored by himself.
Hea laso drives a newer mini as his second car.
I remember when the new minis came out and saying to my hubby I can't wait till they get to old bangers so I can have one but never ever got one the nearest I got was a mini metro.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

  8. That is so gorgeous Chris. I love how you added the trees in the background, such a great idea! I am sad to see summer go, much as I love Autumn. It has rained here today (Saturday) from 6 this morning non stop and it's now 7.30 pm! Busy crafting an ark lol!

  9. Beautiful winter scene with the snow falling on the trees! Lots of great layers too. I love the cozy and fun feel on seeing a Christmas tree tied on top of a car. So many childhood memories come to mind. Thanks for sharing at the Double D, "Wheels" Challenge.
