New Stamps!

Good morning, last weekend I went to the Stamperama show at Detling. Before I went I told myself very firmly NOT to buy any more Christmas stamps as I have a few new Lavinia ones that haven't seen any ink yet. Unfortunately I did not listen and ended up buying some Cardio sets that caught my eye (as stamps do...) I made a few CAS cards to try them out! A one layer design using just a few stamps, torn paper and ink.

I've added glitter to all the little stars and dots but you can only see it in the photos if you squint a bit and use your imagination! There are a couple more which I'll share another time.

Thanks for visiting

Have a good weekend

November Rudolph Day

Good morning, I was delighted to be invited to Guest design for this month's challenge at
the last one of 2025, thank you Helen.

I used my cute reindeer stamp again, (Creative Ember Design) this time he's sitting on a smooshed and stencilled background and coloured with copics. I added a few stamped, embossed snowflakes and used die cut letters from Aall & Create for the sentiment.

Not a lot of time left now for creating Christmas cards- especially if you want to post them, so a real incentive to join in this month. If you're looking for inspiration, take a look at the Rudolph Days Challenge Blog, you're sure to like what you see.

Happy Birthday Sweet Stampin'

It's our birthday week at Sweet Stampin'- 16 years old!
Our challenge theme for the next 2 weeks is BIRTHDAYS so just create a card/project with a Birthday theme, include some stamping and join the fun.
This is the card I made to celebrate a very special friend's 88th Birthday which falls just after Christmas.
I met her when I first started in the library- many moons ago - and she's been a big part of my life ever since. She's a wonderful lady, has always been there for me, through good times and bad. We've shared so much laughter, some tears and a lot of good times. Her health is not good now so time spent with her is precious.
She shares my love of books and reading- hence the card subject! I used a lovely set of digital stamps from Beccy's Place, coloured with markers. I've merged some of them together and added a stamped sentiment. On the inside there's a little pocket with a removable bookmark that I know will come in useful

There are some beautiful creations from the rest of the Sweeties over at Sweet Stampin' so hop over and take a look, hope you'll be inspired to join our birthday celebrations.
Thanks for visiting
Have a great weekend.

Let it Snow

Good morning. Brrr, the change in temperatures has been a bit of a shock this week, it's dropped from really mild to freezing cold in a matter of days. Winter coat, scarf and gloves have had their first airing! I really am hoping that we don't see any prolonged bad weather this year- after slipping over and banging my head last year (hurt like hell and very embarrassing!) I'm nervous of icy conditions. Snow looks pretty through a window...and on a card but that's as far as it goes for me!

This fortnight our challenge theme at FAB'N' FUNKY is

All that Glitters

so we're looking for some lovely sparkle on your creations- doesn't have to be Christmas themed but that's what I went for with my card.

I printed this sweet Mo Manning digi onto white cardstock then used circular nesting dies to cut around her and make the aperture in the centre. Coloured image with markers, inked the sky with  Oxide DI then used Polkadoodle Stencil Butter frosting and a stencil for the snowflakes and snow. This is so pretty and sparkly IRL. I placed a piece of snow-printed acetate in the aperture and adhered to a slightly larger circle of silver glitter card. A stamped and embossed sentiment to finish.

There's more inspiration from my lovely teamies over at Fab'n' Funky so please do take a look- hope you find some time join in this fortnight.

Thanks for stopping by, keep warm and cosy!

The dog ate it!

Good morning, a quick post with a reminder for our November Challenge at
the theme is Christmas or Anything Goes.

I used another cute stamp from Ember Designs- just had to have this little dog!

I used my markers to colour him, the stamp is shaded so didn't take long, then used some foam to pop him onto stamped background panel. The sentiment is from the same set as the dog, the presents are from an Aall & Create set.

There's plenty of lovely inspiration to be enjoyed over at Stamping Sensations, as well as full details of how to play along and the lovely prize on offer.

I'm off on a shopping trip with one of my besties- probably won't do much shopping, but we'll do plenty of chatting on our frequent coffee breaks (that's the best bit!)

Santa's helper

Hello, not a lot of crafting going on here at present...several abandoned projects littering up my desk- most of them probably destined for the bin, but I did manage to finish one CAS card. I used my markers to colour up this cute little elf, a Mo manning image I bought from the old shop before they all disappear...they're half price at the minute which is a bonus! The elf himself is a sweetie but I fell in love with the toy- it's just like the 'clatterpillar' my son had when he was small, he would drag it around everywhere with him, gaining particular enjoyment from the horrendous row it made on hard floors!.

Hope everyone' s keeping safe from the storms we're having in the UK, not been too bad here- just a lot of fairly heavy rain but no real disruption or flooding so far, I see from watching the news that others haven't been so fortunate. Have a good weekend, whatever the weather.

Upping my game!

Hello, I'm starting to realise how few weeks there are left until Christmas- and how many more cards I need. Unless I want to resort to buying from a shop I need to up my game! I have a little box of images I had coloured or part coloured earlier (some of them  years ago!) and found a few Christmas ones amongst them, so decided to finally make a few cards with them. This little cutie, a part of a set from C.C. designs, is coloured with Polychromo pencils. I followed a sketch from Cheerful Sketches and used up some  papers from Trimcraft which I've had for ages. I also managed to use some little wooden stars and some brads- I remember a time when every card I made sported these!
Well, I'd better not sit here all day waffling on- got more cards to make!

Red for Remembrance

Welcome to the weekend- here again already!
The theme for this fortnight's challenge at Sweet Stampin' is
RED FOR REMEMBRANCE.
Poppies immediately spring to mind, in honour of all those brave souls who have lost their lives fighting for peace and a better world. It's just a shame that lessons don't seem to be learned from all the loss, destruction and heartache- or if they are they're soon forgotten.
I used a beautiful wreath stamp from Pink Ink and coloured it with my Copic markers.

Please hop over to Sweet Stampin' for more some lovely creations from the rest of the team- I hope you'll be inspired to join us.

Thanksgiving/ Thank You

Good morning, it's time for another challenge at Crafty Catz, the theme is Anything Goes with an option of Thanksgiving/Thank You.
We're playing just for fun this time- no sponsors or prizes.

I made a simple Thank You card- always useful to have a few of these ready made.

I used a Uniko stencil and applied Distress Oxide Inks in graduated shades of pink and purple. Used the same colours to stamp my sentiment (a very old wood backed stamp). Die cut daisies in various sizes added to some of the squares. It was quick and simple to make but says what I want it to.

For more inspiration pop over to Crafty Catz to see some lovely creations from the rest of the team.

CAS at Fab'n' Funky

Good morning, this fortnight's challenge at Fab'n' Funky begins today, the theme is

CLEAN AND SIMPLE,

chosen by our lovely Pat.

I made a Christmas card using a cute snow couple from Card-io Stamps. I stamped the image onto a square of white CS using black Versafine Clair ink- with a touch of red for noses, masked the image and card leaving just a strip to ink blend the dark blue panel. Stamped Santa and the reindeer in black, adding highlights to the reindeer with a white gel pen. I stamped and white embossed the snowflakes, then smudged a tiny amount of the blue ink around them (might have been better without this last step?).

There's more inspiration from the rest of the team over at Fab'n' Funky- hope you can find some time to join us.

Brrr- it's chilly!

Good morning, time for November's Challenge at Stamping Sensations
The theme for this month is Christmas or Anything Goes, chosen by Pinky. There are some lovely prizes of Christmas themed stamps and dies for the lucky winners.

I used another of the cute Ember stamps I bought recently, this time a little bird- all rugged up for the cold weather, stamped onto white card and fussy cut, I've coloured him with markers. The frame die is from A&C , the top mat was made on the gel plate, added some stamping and stencilling and torn paper snow, and a die cut 'BRRR'.

There's plenty more to see over at Stamping Sensations where you can check out the full details of how to join in, the prizes to be won and some wonderful inspiration from the rest of the Team.

Thanks for stopping by- enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Good morning - how can it possibly be November???
Today sees the start of a new challenge at Crafty Calendar , the theme for this month is
ADD A BUTTON.
As the year is galloping on it's another Christmas card from me- as you can see I've not made many yet!
I used another cute stamp from Ember Designs, stamped directly onto a kraft card blank and coloured with pencils, a white gel pen for the falling snow. Added my button to his big shiny nose!  I stamped the sentiment that came with the set onto a small die cut tag and attached it to the card with twine and a tiny peg. Not too sure I agree with that sentiment, and I definitely would not choose to sit in snow, but the little reindeer looks very happy, I decorated the inside and envelope to match.

Merry Meece!

Hello, I made a Christmas card using a mixture of stamps and dies. The cute House Mouse stam p isn't actually a Christmas one but I thought it would work well for the season of good cheer! I stamped the image and framed it using A&C dies, used my markers to quickly colour it up. The bauble die is a Memory Box one I've had for years, the sentiment is part of a set from Paper Smooches. No idea of the DP, it's from a box of scraps too pretty to throw away.

I had a lovely weekend with my granddaughter, she's no trouble at all and such good company- I really didn't want to part with her when her parents returned, it seemed so quiet here without her. This coming weekend I have my 2 younger granddaughters to look after-  I suspect they might be a bit more work to entertain- and they definitely won't be sleeping so long! Looking forward to the fun!

Beware...creepy!

Good morning, it's a Halloween card from me today, my DT make for the new challenge at
This fortnight Aunty Sue is hosting and has chosen the OPTIONAL theme of Halloween.

I've used some Aall &Create Stamps, a brick wall stencil and Distress Oxide Inks to create my spooky scene- meet Aggie- on her way to meet her witchy pals and create some havoc- she's so busy planning wickedness she's not looking where she's going and  nearly gets mown down by the Night Bus- much to the delight of its ghostly passengers- you can see them bouncing about on the top deck in their excitement at the prospect of seeing her splattered all over the road! Fortunately the driver has quick reactions and manages to skid to a stop before Aggie's Halloween celebrations come to an abrupt end.
I decorated the inside of the card too, using stamps from various companies, it was a fun card to make.

There's plenty more inspiration over at Crafty Catz, and remember, if Halloween is not your cup of tea, you can always join in with our challenges using the anything goes option.

I'm looking after my granddaughter for the weekend while her parents are away, really looking forward to enjoying her company for a couple of days- we're planning to take her to visit her sister, who's at Uni in Canterbury, on Sunday and take them both for lunch (and maybe, just maybe spoil them a tiny bit!)

Thanks for visiting

Hope you have a lovely weekend.

Sweet 16

 Good morning and happy weekend.
This fortnight our challenge theme at Sweet Stampin' is
INSPIRED BY...A SONG/BOOK/FILM
I think you can probably guess the song I chose!!! Not very original but I needed to make a card for Granddaughter Ruby. It's hard to believe that our sturdy little tomboy has grown into a tall and willowy young lady- but she still gives the best hugs!!
The image I used is one of Mo's, coloured with copics and sporting a paper-pieced dress. I've added lots of sparkle to the balloons, which of course you can't see!
I cut a fancy shaped aperture int a square of white card and embossed the remainder, added a stencilled panel behind, matted it onto the same DP I used for the dress, fussy cut my image and popped on top. Die cut sentiments and some sparkly gems to finish.
There's plenty more ideas over at Sweet Stampin'- and we're looking forward to seeing what inspires you!

Good morning, my 12th Christmas card this year- this one is for my youngest granddaughter who loves her cuddly toys- she has far too many- they have taken over her bedroom! Mum tries hard to 'cull' them but Charlotte totally refuses to part with any of her beloved 'babies'!
Our new challenge at Crafty Catz starts today, sponsored by
  ALL DRESSED UP stamps.
The theme this week is use an embossing folder or powder or  ANYTHING GOES
The little cutie I have featured on my card is called Christmas Bear Hugs, coloured with Copic markers and a sprinkling of chunky embossing powder for the snow.
I've used two different embossing folders on the white panels, added a few die cut snowflakes and die cut sentiments.
I followed this sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

As always there's plenty of inspiration from the rest of the team, so pop over to Crafty Catz for a look! Hope to see you play along this fortnight

Autumn colours.

Good morning, my card today is my DT make for this fortnight's challenge at Fab'n'Funky.
It was my turn to choose a theme and I guess it's a bit predictable but I do love
AUTUMN COLOURS.
Well, this isn't at all what I had in mind when I started.. I bought a set of stencils (Autumn Mist) from Lavinia and I wanted to create a misty autumn morning vibe with the sun burning through but I think I was a bit too ambitious! I used the stencil with Lost Shadow D. Oxide ink then masked off the shape and added the pale yellow sunrays using another stencil. I stamped the fox sitting on the fairy path, cone branch and berries. I cut the arch shape from a kraft card blank, embossed the leaves and brayered some brown and orange inks over the top- a little bit messy, I think I was a bit heavy handed. I spent so long messing about with this card I didn't have the heart to start again, so here it is- warts and all!

There are some beautiful cards over at Fab'n'Funky so please do take a look- hope you can find the time to join in.

Halloween

Hello, it's time for a fun new challenge over at Crafty Calendar. the theme for this month is
HALLOWEEN
The prize is 2 digital images from Lili of the Valley.

I had a lot of fun making this card, I've merged two of Mo's images, the witch's hut and the Secret Sauce witch. Mo has closed her old shop now but the cheeky little witch is available in the new shop -here. I've also used a background paper supplied with another of Mo's images. My printer is a bit dodgy with colour printing so the colours aren't quite right- I blended some distress ink on top to change them a bit. Hut and witch coloured with Copics. I think she's off to a Halloween party- her contribution to the feast is her special Secret Sauce- which goes down just right with a delicious toad burger!

There's more to see over at Crafty Calendar where the rest of the team have produced some fun and spooky Halloween cards, so be sure to pop over and take a look. Hope to see you play along this month.

Drunken Chicken!

Hello, it's a bit of a dull damp day here so a good time to play> I made a tag to join in with this months Tag Along Challenge- Things with Wings. I used a layered tag die from Studio Light, cut two layers from white card and the middle layer from a scrap of black. Inked both white layers with Della Blue Elements Ink ( love this colour!) and added some stencilling to the top layer. I stamped the sentiment and the chicken (Paper Artsy), stamped chicken again on white card, coloured with markers to paper-piece his body and hat, finished it with a ribbon- it was black and white stripes so I coloured it yellow with a marker.

I'm keeping this for my Son-in- Laws birthday- after a couple of drinks he does his break dance routine... much to the mortification of my granddaughters- and the great delight of their friends!!

Hello, just back from holiday  and I'm a little late with this post. This is my DT make for this fortnight's challenge at Sweet Stampin' which started yesterday- so still loads of time to join in ! The theme for this challenge is USE A DIE CUT, so easy peasy- just remember to include a stamped element as well. My stamped image is a little Wee Stamps cute, coloured with copic markers, the tiny snowflakes on the dark blue background paper and the sentiment are stamped and embossed in white. Background papers from The Works and a die cut tree. As always, plenty more inspiration from the rest of the team to be enjoyed over at Sweet Stampin'.

Holiday was good- we had 3 days in Somerset, visited Wells, which was lovely- beautiful weather, good accommodation, there was a large garden as well as 3 fields adjacent to the cottage, belonging to the owner- Marvin thought it was heaven! We moved on to Devon- I know why it's sooo green there now- if I say I have never seen so many rainbows in one week you'll get the picture! Blue skies and bright sunshine one minute- chucking it down in buckets the next!!! We did have a nice time though and Marvin managed to get some beach time so all good.

Thank for the comments you were kind enough to leave on my scheduled posts while I was away- much appreciated and I'll be over to visit your blogs asap- better catch up with the laundry and do some food shopping first though!

Fab'n' Funky Challenges are back.

Good morning, Fab'n' Funky Challenges are back after the summer break.

This fortnight's challenge is hosted by Ginny- the theme is CUTE AS A BUTTON-, so something cute, use a button(s) or both!

I've been itching to colour up this adorable Mo Manning fairy- she just makes me smile! I used my markers and a white gel pen, added some sparkle to her wings. If you look closely you can see the 2 tiny buttons I added to her dress.  The sentiment stamp is Visible Image. I added some doodling in the corners.

There's more inspiration over at Fab'n' Funky, hope you can find the time to join us.

Good morning, time for our September Challenge at Stamping Sensations,  Helen chose the theme of CAS- with the option of Anything Goes (as long as there is visible stamping on the front of your project)

There are two prizes of stamps from Grafton Crafts, a well stocked bricks and mortar and on line shop offering fee p&p on all orders over £15

I used Hickory Smoke D. O.I and some torn paper to create my snowbanks and stamped a branch several times using one of a set of clear stamps I've had for years, sadly they're minus their packaging and I can't remember the brand. I've used a white gel pen to add some snowy highlights and red one on the tiny berries. The sentiment stamp is Paper Smooches.
