Rudolph with your nose so bright...

Good morning and welcome to the weekend! Our challenge this week at Sweet Stampin' is another easy one with loads of scope, to use black and white and just one other colour of your choice. How easy I hear you all cry as you reach for your red....., well that's what most of the DT seemed to do anyway!!!! - including me, as you can see from above!
This card was so lovely and easy to make as I just stamped the gorgeous image onto white card and glittered up his nose! A bit of matting, embossing and a die cut holly leaf- job done! The stamp is one I bought years ago and it's one of my favourites, it's by Hampton Art Stamps.
Please pop over to the challenge blog by clicking here and you'll see what my lovely and so-talented teamies have made! We're sponsored this week by My Mum's Craft Shop, and there's also a monthly prize from the Ribbon Girl.
Thanks for looking!
Have a lovely weekend!

Die another day!

I'm here again with my second post for today, my DT card for our new challenge at Songbirds. The themes for our challenges are all inspired by song titles or lyrics and this one is 'Die Another Day' which was the theme song for a James Bond Movie! For our challenge all you need to do is add a die cut to your project, another easy-peasy one! We are sponsored this fortnight by Meljens Designs and were given a selection of lovely images to choose from, I chose to use this cute little fairy. I coloured her with my trusty copics, die cut the oval shape and mounted it onto a larger oval of red dotted paper. The pine needle border and the heart with bow are both Memory Box dies. You can see what delights the rest of the songbirds have made and join in the fun yourself by clicking  here.
Have a good week!

Come celebrate with Sweet Stampin'

It's time to celebrate... Sweet Stampin'  is 4 years old today, hooray!! We're inviting you all to join the party by entering this weeks challenge 'cause for celebration'.  It can be any kind of celebration, birthday, Christmas, new baby...whatever you like! There are loads of fabulous prizes to be won this week...£10 vouchers from Bunny Zoe, Wild Orchid, and Crafters Companion. There's also a £10 voucher from our monthly sponsor The Ribbon Girl, and an extra prize for a lucky entrant with a US shipping address! Wow!
I really enjoyed making my card, even though it didn't end up looking how I thought it would when I started! The gorgeous image (she's just so happy!!!) is of course by Mo Manning. She's coloured with copics. The balloons were part of a stamp which are again coloured with copics, then cut out and attached to twine. The papers are MME: On the bright side.
You can find a tutorial to make this card shape here. Thanks Norma , you are one very talented lady!

Now, why not pop over to Sweet Stampin' to see what the rest of the sweeties have made...there's loads of inspiration for you to enjoy this week!
Have a great weekend!

....just a quickie!

Good evening! Just a really quick post to share the card I made for this week's LIM challenge. I don't always have time to play along with this great challenge blog, but couldn't resist this week's, which is to use designer paper in a CAS way. As I'm sadly behind in the Christmas card department I made this. The holly leaves are paper pieced using the same paper as the green border. The extra berries in the corner are to hide a green inky smudge... why does that always happen to me!!! Thanks for looking!

..and another tag card...

Good morning! Here's my card for the new challenge at Hobbycutz. This time it's a colour inspiration challenge, chosen by Nancy.

I made another tag card, using a beautiful stamp from Art Journey. I stamped the image of the little girl directly onto a Hobbycutz label, this was then mounted onto my prepared card. The papers were freebies from a magazine.
Please take the time to visit the challenge blog and check out the beautiful creations that my teamies have made to inspire you! We are sponsored this week by the fabulous KennyK, and as always there is an extra chance of winning a prize if you use a Hobbycutz product on your creation.... so come on... what are you waiting for?!!!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

a tag card

Hooray! It's the weekend! There's a new challenge starting today at Sweet Stampin', a really fun theme this time, 'tags', you can make a tag, a tag shaped card or add a tag to your card or project! Well interpret it however you like, really, as long as there is a tag and some stamping included you can play along! Our lovely sponsors this week, the Stamp Fairy, gave us some images to play with, how cute are these little owls?! I printed them onto the spotted DP, then two different scraps of brown DP, cut out the bodies (lovely simple shapes!!!) and pieced them together. The eyes have glossy accents to make them shine!
Hope you can find the time to join us this week!
Have a great weekend.

Going round in circles with Southern Girls

Good morning! Another week is flying past and it's Thursday again already! There's a brand new challenge at Southern Girls, the theme this fortnight is 'circles', another nice easy one with plenty of scope!
I used a lovely image from Just Some Lines, (thank you!)which I printed onto kraft paper, coloured with pencils and cut out. I printed the image again onto the blue DP and then stuck the cut out image over the top, this way I didn't lose the tiny details that were too fine to cut! The DP are from a Prima pad, Jack n Jill, these are so pretty and went so well with my image! The paper rose is made with a Marianne die.
We have 3 lovely sponsors this fortnight ,
Life in Bits and Pieces, Just Some Lines and Marianne Design., so there are some amazing prizes to be won! To see what the rest of the Girls have made, and to enter the challenge, just click here.

As a special treat I thought I'd share a photo of my lovely girl, relaxing on the sofa -
                                                                  isn't she gorgeous!

Dream, dream, dream

Hi folks! I'm back again with my second post today.... this time the theme is 'your favourite song' and aptly enough it's the new challenge at Songbirds. We are sponsored by Pink Gem Designs, who very generously allowed each of us to choose an image to play with. I chose this gorgeous dreamy little girl, Harriet -I think she's just beautiful, and I left her uncoloured.! My song, an old favourite is Dream by the Everly Brothers. Lots of layering, inking and distressing. A bit of stamping, faux stitching, twine and a few flowers added. Hope you like it! Hope your favourite son g is playing in your head right now and that you won't be able to resist joining us this fortnight. To see what the rest of the team have created for your delectation, and to post your card ;) just click here.

Ding Dong!

Good morning! This is a scheduled post as I have my granddaughters 'sleeping over'! I really really hope that 'sleeping' is what they do....Ruby is a notoriously early riser... I  hate 5.30 am on a Sunday (or any other day come to that!). My plan is to let them stay up and 'help' with our guests until they can't keep their eyes open any longer then they might sleep in! Fabulous grandparenting skills!
Anyway, back to the card. This is my DT card for Hobbyhcutz Challenges, the theme is 'inspired by a song'. The image is courtesy of our lovely sponsor The Stamping Chef, and is titled 'ring my bell' so I didn't even need to think of a song! However, the song I couldn't get out of my mind is 'My ding-a ling'!!! (Hope it doesn't keep going around in your head now heh hee!). Because of the lyrics "silver bells hanging on a string, I added another bell behind the original image. She' s coloured with copics and glitter pens. The musical background is made using distress inks and a mask. The lovely flourish she's swinging from is a wooden lasercut from the Hobbycutz store, simply coloured with a black marker pen.
There's loads more inspiration for you to enjoy on the challenge blog, so hop over and take a look!
Have a great day!

Get in shape with Sweet Stampin'!

Hello my lovelies, it's Saturday again (already! how?) and that means a new challenge is waiting for you at Sweet Stampin'! This week, a lovely easy challenge for you - design a shaped card - easy peasy! For my card I used a beautiful image by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff  you can see her work by clicking here. As the weather has been damp, grey and miserable lately, I thought I'd cheer myself up by using bold bright colours!
Don't forget to pop over to Sweet Stampin' to check out the fabulous inspiration from my teamies!
Thanks for looking, got to dash, I've a very busy day ahead! We've invited a few friends (rent a crowd) round for the evening.... we want them to make a noise (not difficult for them!) to distract Mathilda from any whizzes, pops and bangs from other peoples firework parties! Added to this I have my 2 small granddaughters for the day... and night.... ! So lots of people to feed....! Better get cooking!
Hope you all have a lovely weekend, whatever you have planned!
