Happy Halloween

Good morning, this week's challenge at Fab 'n' Funky is up and running! The theme?...you guessed it...-'Halloween'!

I used a template I found online and  drew a pumpkin shape on orange cardstock, cut it into segments, inked the edges and fitted it all back together again onto my black card base and the black gingham ribbon, the cute little witch is from Polkadoodles.  I added a few pairs of goggly eyes, a die cut sentiment and doodled some stitches around the edge of the card with a white gel pen...a non-scary card for youngest granddaughter!

Winter Wonderland - colour it

Colour challenge at Catch the Bug

This Saturday it's a colour challenge at Catch the Bug, and I love the gorgeous colours in the inspiration photo! I made a card featuring the fantastic Magical Tidbit Hat and lots of embossing, the sentiment is stamped (I added the 'h'!). The colours of my card are deeper than in the photo, I lightened it a bit to show the embossing! My granddaughters are obsessed with anything Harry Potter at the moment so I know this will go down well!

we need glasses...

Good morning and happy weekend! Hope you've all got something lovely planned! I'm looking after my two eldest granddaughters tonight and we're planning a trip to 'Go Ape' on Sunday, weather permitting. Needless to say I'll be a spectator...I'm a bit too old now for swinging around on ropes....although it does look like fun...

My first card today is for this week's challenge at Sweet Stampin', our theme is 'humour'....well everything does seem funnier after a few glasses of wine!.Lots of stamping going on here...the image stamp, all the sentiments and the wine glasses. This was the card I made for my sister's birthday...she loved it! Guest Designer at Crafty Catz

Good morning, the weekend is almost here and it's time for a new challenge over at Crafty Catz. This week the fabulous sponsor is none other than Bugaboo

so I'm well within my comfort zone there!

As always the challenge is 'anything goes' but there is an optional twist of Halloween for those who prefer a theme! This week it's hosted by our lovely Jac.

 card featuring Halloween Poem and added some Bugaboo images I already had, Witchy Girl and 2 black cats, cut from Happy Halloween Cat silhouette. Images coloured with copics and a few die cut bats added.

Oldie but A Goodie at Catch the Bug

Thursday is the day we like to showcase some of the older digis available at Bugaboo Stamps, so here's a card I made for my best friend's grandson..featuring some of the images from the Dog Blocks mini set, he loves dogs and photography, whenever he's home from uni he pops round to visit our dog us...and takes loads of photos of Matilda, who's very happy to pose for him!

Purrfect birthday

It's 'Humour Me Wednesday'  at Catch the Bug...my card is to celebrate 'Global Cat Day' which falls on 16th November...bet you all knew that already, eh?!  Couldn't resist this Goofy Polka dot cat. I've coloured with copics, freebie papers and sentiment stamps from a magazine and a couple of strips of ribbon, quick and simple! I followed the sketch fromCheerful Sketches Challenge.

Ribbon or Lace at Fab 'n' Funky

Good morning, this week's challenge at Fab 'N' Funky is to embellish your project with ribbon or lace...absolutely loads of scope for everyone! 

I made a girlie card for today, a Saturated Canary image, stamped onto Kraft and coloured with pencils for a change! Bit out of my comfort zone as my lovely polychromos have been languishing neglected for ages!. Papers from a cheapie pad I bought in the Works, very pretty but quite thin...had to be careful as I distressed them:) -  flowers tied with a scrap of ribbon.

Believe in your dreams...

I'm so excited to be writing this post today, a while ago I was invited to be a guest designer for Aurora Wings...of course I accepted...I was thrilled and honoured to be asked to design something with Mitzi's beautiful images and to work alongside the amazing AW DT.
The theme this month is 'Once Upon a Dream or Nightmare' and I gave this a lot of thought, leaning towards a darker themed card, but somehow this little wall hanging is what happened!.
I painted an MDF heart with gesso, then used Distress inks in shades of deep blue to colour the background, adding Nuvo Glimmer paste through a stencil. The wording is hand written with a white gel pen. I coloured the beautiful Stars image using copics and glitter gel pens, then fussy cut it, adhered it in place. I added crushed glass glitter round the edges and a few die cut stars.
The hanging stars are die cut and attached with beaded wires.

I hope you like my project, I had a lot of fun making it.

Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet!

Good morning and happy weekend! 

Our challenge theme this week at Sweet Stampin' is 'Halloween'.

I was so happy to be able to use my latest acquisition from Mo Manning, Esmarelda, isn't she gorgeous? I love her expression!!!  I made an easel card with an archway cut out of an embossed brick wall, coloured Esmarelda with copics and placed her inside the arch allowing her  (whiffy) feet, and the broom to spill over the edge. I added some die cut cobwebs and bats and a couple stamped pumpkins. The sentiment on the base of the card is die cut and stamped using tiny peg stamps that I've had for years, the orange cobweb is a freebie digital dp, it's gorgeous but don't know where it came from.

Christmas at Sweet Stampin' October Challenge

Good morning, time for our October Challenge at CASS....only 2 more challenges to go after this one...that's scary!!!

I've been playing with the Distress Oxides again to create the background for this moonlit scene. The stamps are from a set by Sweet Dixie called Christmas Winter Scene. I stamped and masked to create the forest scene using Versafine Clair pigment ink. The 'snow' is Decoart Snowtex, lovely texture. I used a white pencil to add a bit of 'snow' to the trees, and a white gel pen to highlight the deer's antlers and to add a few stars. 

Apologies for the photo, the frame is white not a dingy beige! Tried to take another but light no better.

Puppy Pile

Good morning, it's new Release Day at Bugaboo Stamps and who could resist this gorgeous pile of puppies! Certainly not me! I coloured the image with Copics, die cut with a stitched rectangle die and matted onto dp from my stash. I added a little  die cut tag with a stamped greeting and a die cut butterfly coloured to match the one in the image. Hop over to Catch the Bug for more inspiration using this cute image.

October Challenge at Crafty Calendar

Good morning, it's the first Saturday of the month...time for a new challenge at Crafty Calendar. This month our theme is 'Autumn' and our sponsor is Lemon Shortbread with a lovely prize for the lucky winner.

The DT were given some lovely images to play with, I used the sweet Hedgehog Leaves. Once again I used my trust copics to colour, I fussy cut the image and placed it inside a die cut wreath. The dp is from my stash, not sure of the make but I love it, sadly only a little of this left now!

Guest Designer for Crafty Catz

Good morning, I'm delighted to be a Guest Designer for Crafty Catz, it's a fabulous challenge blog with such a lovely talented DT, they're a friendly bunch too! The challenges are 'Anything Goes' but have an optional twist each week to keep it interesting! This week the  host is Dianne, the sponsor is Crafty Ribbons

 and the optional theme is 'Make a tag. 

I made a tag with hidden pockets to hold the cute bunny and the extra tiny tags. All the tags are die cut the large one cut 3 times from the same DP to layer up and create the pockets. The bunny is a previously unused rubber stamp I've had for ages, coloured with copics and fussy cut.

The tag is to decorate my granddaughter's birthday pressie, she loves bunnies!

Siren Song

This month's challenge theme at Aurora Wings is 'Inspired by Music'. The inspiration for my card is

Siren Song (Bat for Lashes). I used the beautiful Siren image, coloured with copics and  glitter gel pens. I wanted the scene to have an eerie atmosphere in keeping with the story, the music and the image. After all a siren is no Disney mermaid! Luring sailors to a watery grave isn't very pleasant behaviour.

I kept my design simple to keep focus on this gorgeous image, there is a fair amount of texture though from the embossed vellum, liquid pearls, ribbon and the fibre-y stuff I've matted it onto.

A little monster...

Good morning, hope everyone's week is going well so far. Mine would be better if the boiler wasn't playing up...I can cope without the heating as it's not too cold yet, but no hot water is a nightmare! Apparently the new fan that we had replaced a couple of months ago is faulty, so we're waiting for a new on to arrive, such fun!!!

Anyway I'll stop whingeing now, people have much worse things to put up with

My card today is my DT card for this week's challenge at Fab 'n ' Funky, this week we have a colour theme for you, orange, black and green. I made a CAS card featuring this little monster from Dilly Beans Stamps,isn't he cute?! Printed him out and coloured with copics. Sentiment is stamped. The DP I've matted onto is  a digital paper from Bugaboo, available here.
