Not another birthday!!!

Good morning and happy weekend! This is my DT card for our new challenge at Sweet Stampin'...the optional theme this week is to make a funny or jokey card. Now believe me, I don't really think that birthdays are funny any more...getting old is no joke, but the alternative is worse...anyway I've been wanting to colour up this fabulous Mo Manning image for ages ...so here she is! I may have a weird sense of humour but there's something about a small person having a tantrum that makes me smile...all that anger, frustration and fury in one tiny body...they have to let it out somehow, then minutes later they're all smiles as if nothing has happened! And yes, I have had to deal with my share of raging toddlers, even in supermarkets!!!
Please take a look at my teamies fabulous cards over at Sweet Stampin' , they're guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Hope you choose to join in this week, we'd love it if you play the theme but anything goes as long it includes stamping.
Have a lovely weekend

Crafty Catz #455 - ATG with optional twist of stitching

Good morning, it's my turn to host the challenge at Crafty Catz this week, which means I get to pick the optional theme- I chose stitching, it can be real stitching for those who have the time and patience, or faux stitching using dies or doodling if you prefer!
Our sponsor for this challenge is the fabulous Doctor Digi
The lucky DT were given some fun images to play with, I used Knitty Nora, isn't she great!
I used my copics for colouring and paper pieced the 'carpet'. The card base is made from a square card, I turned it sideways and ie cut the top edge, then folded the bottom half in half again, to stand up from the base. I covered this with a piece of embossed mauve DP, looks like knitted stitches.
I placed Nora on the front and a ball of wool image (free-google) behind. The circle at the top, with the smaller ball of wool image , holds the front up (I use a tiny scrap of velcro if the card doesn't behave :) . The little tag tucked behind the image has a stamped sentiment (Enjoy your Day) and more faux stitching. I had a lot of fun making this card...it's perfect for my Aunty's birthday...she is a real Knitty Nora!!
As always there's loads to enjoy over at Crafty Catz, my teamies have created some fabulous cards this week.
Thanks for visiting and have a lovely weekend

Wishlist

Good morning, it's time for a Christmas Challenge at Fab 'n' Funky,  one week each month we have a Christmas theme...it's anything Christmas goes and it's our lovely Pat K's turn to host.
I made a card featuring a cute image called Wishlist, it's from Whimsy Stamps. I used a rubber stamp but  it's also available as a digi. I coloured the sweet little boy with copics. The papers are from an old 6x6 pad, Forever Friends Kraft Notes, lovely papers but not much of it left now. I added a piece of twine along the original dotted line on the stocking paper. The dark red background is embossed with a starry EF, no idea of brand and I added a few tiny wooden stars.
I followed a sketch from Cheerful Sketches.
As always some beautiful creations from my teamies to be seen over at Fab'n' Funky, so do hop over and take a look, would be great if you chose to play along this week.
Thanks for visiting, have a lovely day

Green Green Green!

Good morning, the challenge theme this week at Sweet Stampin' is GREEN...yes it's as simple as that...something green and something stamped!  I slashed some brushos onto a piece of white cardstock and stamped my lovely tree on top then stamped the sentiment (stamps from Crafty Individuals)The background is made up of diecut strips in various shades of green. 3 little brads to finish. I used snippets of card as well as older stamps and the brads have been in the box for years...so feeling quite virtuous about this card!
I'm scheduling this post as will be enjoying myself in London on Saturday...early Mother's Day treat from my daughter as she will be away at the end of the month! I'm looking forward to spending the day with my gorgeous girl!
Thanks for stopping by, hope you all enjoy a lovely weekend too!

Crafty Catz Challenge #453 - Anything goes with optional twist- Spring

Good morning, our challenge this week at Crafty Catz is hosted by Billie, who has picked the lovely  theme of 'Spring', as always the theme is an option to use if you wish.
We're sponsored this week by LeAnn's World 101, with a  prize of 2 images for the lucky winner.

The DT were lucky too...we were given some lovely images to use!
I used this cute couple, Rocky and Renae, they look as if they're enjoying the spring sunshine during a stroll in the park. I used my trusty copics to colour them up, then cut an oval aperture from a piece of embossed green cardstock and popped the image underneath. I added a couple of borders cut from yellow cardstock, stamping the sentiment onto the top one. A die cut flower with a tiny button to finish.
I'd like to add that the colours are not so harsh IRL, the yellow is really pretty and has a sheen to it!
As always there's loads to see over at Crafty Catz, beautiful inspiration from my lovely teamies.
Hope to see you play along this week!
Enjoy your day

Search for rainbows...

Good afternoon, a quick post to share the card I made with this month's challenge at Aurora Wings in mind. As often happens, this isn't quite what I had in mind when I started out, I knew I wanted to use the Butterfly sprite image and colour it  in  rainbow hues, then I decided to have a flock of  7 butterflies.... merged them together in various sizes and angle, then coloured with copics and added the clouds I made the background using a sunray stencil and stamped raindrops, wish I'd used a darker coloured cardstock for greater contrast :(
The sentiment is computer generated then cut up and coloured to match the butterflies, I added some tiny gems in rainbow colours.
Thanks for stopping by...

Christmas At Sweet Stampin' - March Challenge

Good morning...it's time for our March Challenge at CASS...a quarter of the way through this year's challenges...now that IS a scary thought! This month we have an optional theme for you...use stamping on your creation.
I went for a CAS card this month... my stamp is an older wood backed stamp from Stampendous called Winter Sprite, I love this one and have used it loads in the past and thought it could do with another airing! I stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with a white detail EP. Three shades of blue distress oxides sponged over the image and some added bling. I used a wonky-stitched edge square die to cut the panel and raised on foam for a little dimension. The sparkle die was cut 4 times and layered together....another card for my Christmas box :)
There's loads to enjoy over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin', my teamies have been busy creating some wonderful cards. We hope you are inspired to join us this month, remember the theme is optional, anything goes as long as it's Christmas themed.
Thanks for visiting
Have a lovely day

BUGABOO
The DT were given some gorgeous digis to play with, and I chose to use the sweet little angel image, available HERE, I used the uncoloured version, without the sentiment. I used my copics to colour (very quick and easy this one!) and stamped the sentiment.

As always my teamies have created some wonderful cards to inspire you,  so hop on over to Crafty Catz to take a peek and to add your own beautiful creations.

Oldie but a Goodie...Girlz Celebrate

Hi, my card today features one of Jodie's older images, Girlz Celebrate, available from Bugaboo Stamps. I've used copics to colour and added lots of sparkle. Papers are from stash and the sentiment stamp is an older clear stamp (sadly it's gone a bit sticky...don't think it will survive much longer!) which I've coloured to match. If you hop over to Catch the Bug you will find more inspiration using lovely oldie but goodie images.
Thanks for visiting, enjoy your day!

Spring colours at Fab'n'Funky

Good morning my lovelies. Today we have a brand new challenge for you over at Fab'n' Funky, it's N-eva's turn to host and she's picked a lovely theme for us- Spring Colours. Now when anyone says spring colours to me I immediately think of green and yellow...new leaves, lush grass, sunshine, daffodils and crocus, so these are the colours I chose to use. The cute image is Lavender from Polkadoodles, all coloured up with my copics, the tulip dies are Memory Box. Papers rom stash.
If you want to enjoy a taste of spring (now that our early spring has deserted us !) just hop on over to Fab'n' Funky to see the lovely creations from my teamies.

Stella Says Sketch #705 at Catch the Bug

Hi, hope you're enjoying a lovely relaxing weekend- wherever you are and whatever you're doing :)
There's a new sketch challenge starting today at Catch the Bug, here's my card featuring Brat Boy Bugs digi stamp, so cute looks so like my son when he was small, right down to the cap and freckles! He loved bugs and mini beasts, I really dreaded turning out his pockets before I put his clothes in the wash, never knew what I would find!

Sweet Stampin'...dragons for St David's Day

At  Sweet Stampin' this week we are celebrating St David's Day (1st March) with the theme of 'dragons'. This is not the card I intended to make, I was going to use a much more realistic set of stamps with scarier dragons...unfortunately I couldn't find them despite turning my craft room upside down! Now I'll be the first to admit that my 'filing system' is chaotic (how bad for an ex librarian!!) but it's my chaos and I don't very often lose whole sets of stamps! Anyway, as time was getting short, I decided to make a shaped easel card using this sweet Sylvia Zet stamp instead. I stamped the image and coloured with copics. The I cut the  Happy Birthday die   times and layered them together to make the 'stop'. The sentiments are stamped.
I found the other set of stamps the next day...someone had put them in a very silly place....(with the Christmas stamps)...I'm sure it wasn't me....!
There's plenty of dragons, of all kinds,  to be seen over at Sweet Stampin' so please hop over and take a peek, we'd love to see what you make of this theme too!
Have a great weekend

Crafty Calendar March Challenge -For a child

It's the first Saturday of the month...time for a new challenge at Crafty Calendar. This month our theme is 'For a Child' and our sponsor is the wonderful A Day for Daisies
A Day For Daisies
I used a lovely digi of a little girl holding a bunch of balloons, Little Striped Dress, I just love the simplicity of this sweet image! Colouring medium is copics, glossy accents on the balloons. Papers and ribbon from stash, the lovely bow die is Memory Box (an old favourite!) and some tiny button brads.
As always my teamies have created some beautiful cards so please do hop over to Crafty Calendar to see what they've been up to! Hope you choose to play along!

Thank you for stopping by, I'll be back later this morning with another DT make.

Crafty Catz Challenge #451-ATG with optional twist of Friendship

Good morning, March is here...so soon, this year is flying past...spring will soon be arriving, although we've already had an early taste of it this year, it was a bit of a shock when it rained yesterday the weather has been so glorious for the past couple of weeks!
Our new challenge is up and running at Crafty Catz, it's Zora's turn to host and she's picked the lovely theme of  'friendship'...the theme is optional, as always ..anything goes!
This week we are lucky to be sponsored by The Paper Shelter

To make my card I used a really sweet digi, Not Exactly a Big Bad Wolf , that I was lucky enough to win some time ago, but never got around to colouring until now, I find this image particularly appealing as my lovely Mum wanted a pet wolf cub when she was a child! She didn't get one. I didn't get the pet dragon I wanted either...
I printed the image fairly large, and coloured with copics. The sentiment is a stamp.
My talented teamies have created some gorgeous cards following this lovely theme, just hop over to Crafty Catz to enjoy them and to add your own eautiful creations.
