Shy girl

Good morning, it's been a busy week for DT cards! This one is for our new challenge at Southern Girls. Our theme this fortnight is 'ribbon or twine' and we're sponsored by Doodle Digital. I used a very sweet image, Shy Girl, coloured with my trusty copics. Some time ago I was given some 'Gorjuss' products by a lovely friend of mine, (it wasn't even my birthday) and I  decided it was about time I used some of them! So the base card, papers, ribbon and twine have all been used on this simple design. I added some tiny star shaped buttons to finish.

Christmas Crackers

Good morning, this week is just flying by, i can't believe it's Wednesday already and time for a new challenge at Fab N Funky! As it's the last Wednesday of the month our challenge theme  this week is 'Christmas' and it's the turn of our lovely Wends to host. Our fabulous sponsor this week is

 I used  3 Little Christmas Girls to make my card, they're coloured with copics, touches of glitter added. papers from stash ( not sure might be Papermania) A few die cuts and gems added.

I've just worked out that there are only 5 more of these 'last Wednesday' Challenges left this year...now that's scary! You might be wise to make something Christmassy and play along if you want to beat the last minute panic :D

Mermaids for Emily

Good afternoon all, Here's a little door hanger I made as a gift (bribe- to- stay- in- her- bed -like- a- good- girl!) for my youngest granddaughter, Emily, who is 3 years old and loves mermaids, pink and purple. Currently her parents are having problems getting her to bed...and keeping her there. They've tried persuasion, firmness, depriving her of treats, ignoring her screaming...nothing seems to work! We're now resorting to good old fashioned bribery...it's worth a try! I tell them that it's just a phase and they'll laugh about it one day but I don't think they believe me!
Anyway, I thought she'd like this to hang on her wardrobe door. I cut the shell shape from very thick card and scored and folded it slightly to give it a curved shape. It's painted with a combination of Zig watercolour pens and Starlights Shimmer acrylic paint which gives it a lovely soft shimmer. The little mermaids are an Aurora Wings image, available here. I've coloured them with copics and added loads of Wink of Stella to their tails, which of course you can't see in the photo!  I fussy cut them and curved them with a ball tool, fixing them to the shell with silicone for depth. I added some seed beads, sequins and tiny shells and Emily's name in metal letters.
Hopefully Mummy and Daddy will be able to bribe her into bed with this!

Lots of layers at Sweet Stampin'

Good morning and happy weekend! Looks as if we've seen the last of our heatwave...must admit, much as I love the sunshine, it's quite a relief to be cool again...and to be able to sleep!
Our new Challenge at Sweet Stampin' starts today...the theme is 'lots of layers', so a lovely easy one to play along with, just remember to include some stamping. I think my card has about 8 layers, using random papers and cardstock from my stash. The beautiful image is ' Fae 6' by Morgan Fitzsimons,  I coloured her ages ago and thought it was time to use her on a card! The butterflies are Sizzix Tim Holtz.

Dream of the sea...

Good evening, I'm back from my holiday...and looking forward to the next one! I love being retired ...we can go on holiday when we like without having to worry about taking time off work, it used to be real nightmare trying to book annual leave!
We had a wonderful relaxing week in a very beautiful part of Devon, a lovely bungalow just minutes walk from the sea...and fabulous weather too! Just wish I hadn't eaten quite so much....
I'm missing the sound of the sea, so this fortnight's challenge at Aurora Wings is a great one for me...at least I can dream about it!
I coloured up this beautiful image, Princess of the Sea, , which I was lucky enough to win on a previous challenge. I used my trusty copics, a white gel pen, stickles and liquid pearls . The 'driftwood' frame is made from a sheet of driftwood patterned  DP, chopped about and re-pieced together. The shells in the corner are a part of the image, printed larger and fussy cut.

Joy to the world

I'm back with yet another scheduled post, this time for our June Challenge at Christmas at Sweet Stampin'...June, that means there are only 6 more challenges until Christmas!!!
A simple L/O this month, I've embossed the background, the cute image is a digistamp from Polkadoodles, the die cuts are Tim Holtz and the stars are punched.
