Anything Goes with the Southern Girls

Good morning, I'm here today with my DT card for the new challenge at Southern Girls Challenge, which is everyone's favourite theme...Anything goes! We're sponsored by the fabulous Rick St Dennis who very generously allowed the DT to choose an image each to play with....you really don't want to know how long I spent choosing, there are so many gorgeous digis to choose from! Eventually I plumped for this beauty,October Morning Glory, I think she's just beautiful and really enjoyed colouring her with my copics.
There's loads of fabulous inspiration to be seen from my talented teamies by visiting over at Southern Girls Challenge, then it's your turn to inspire us...remember anything goes this fortnight!
Thanks for visiting, have a good day!

Teddy Bear!

Good morning, it's time for a new challenge at Creative Moments, I'm not quite sure what happened to the last fortnight, it passed so quickly! Anyway, this fortnight's optional theme is 'inspired by a song'... and sponsored by Angies Cards and Digisthe East Wind and Kitty Bee Design so lots of chances to win!
My song is Teddy Bear by Elvis Presley, and I used an adorable image from Angie's, called appropriately enough, Teddy Bear. I paper pieced this cutie and added him to my card, made using a Crealies die set, a bow die, kraft card,  and papers from LOTV. Thanks for popping by today, for more inspiration just click here to visit the Challenge blog and see what the rest of the team have made, we'd love to have you join us this fortnight!

Easter bonnet

Hi, I hope everyone has enjoyed a lovely Easter break! It's been a quiet and peaceful weekend here...until today when my daughter, son their partners and children all came for lunch! It wasn't quiet...but it was fun! (not sure my husband thought that as he tackled the mountain of washing up!-so glad his hand is better now...:D). The girls enjoyed their Easter egg hunt in the garden, first year Emmy is big enough to join in...but she caught on very quickly and was thoroughly delighted with her bucket of choccie eggs...not quite so pleased when Mummy firmly removed all but one! They'll probably last her until Christmas!
My card today is a 'just because' card, I had some time to play yesterday and enjoyed some relaxing colouring therapy! The image is by Julia Spiri, coloured with copics, I followed a sketch from Paper Play sketches.
Thanks for visiting,
Chris

Recycled bag

Good afternoon! Had some really great news today, husband is making such a good recovery from his injured hand that he's allowed to drive again. He is ecstatic! He's missed his beloved car so much!
I'm feeling so much better myself as well, my head actually feels as though it belongs to me again! Even did housework today....but that's enough of that!
The current challenge over at The East Wind calls for recycling, so as I always need gift bags (and nice ones are expensive!) I decided to recycle this paper bag I found in a cupboard. I used an old button and a clothing tag too. This is what I made with it-

not bad for a freebie!
Thanks for visiting, wishing you all a happy Easter weekend!

A thank you card

Good morning! At last I'm starting to feel better! Actually went out of the house yesterday, first time for nearly two weeks...still recovering from the excitement! I'm hoping to get down to see my Mum in the next day or two, haven't dared go anywhere near her since the flu got me.... Heaven forbid she catches it!
Anyway, my card today is for the brand new challenge starting today at Fab N Funky, it's hosted by our lovely Wendy and she's chosen a fabulous theme for you -Flowers. We're o lucky to be sponsored for this challenge by Lemon Shortbread who gave us some sweet images to play with. I chose to use this little sweetie, she's available here. I've coloured her with copics and printed out the flowers again, shaped and attached with silicone to add a bit of extra dimension. I added tiny gems to the centres of the embossed daisies and a little 'thank you' tag amongst the flowers.
Thanks for visiting today, I hope you'll find the time to pop over to Fab N Funky to take a peek at what my lovely teamies have designed for to enjoy, of course we'd love it if you joined us with a beautiful floral creation of your own!
Stay away from germs and have a great day!

Spring has Sprung

Good morning, time for a new challenge at Creative Moments, our very optimistic :) optional challenge this time 'Spring Has Sprung'   oh I do hope so! I made a shutter card using various elements from the Beauty of Butterflies  set from Decosses Dynamite Doodles, one of our lovely sponsors for this fortnight. Apart from these beautiful digital papers and elements I used just a piece of black card stock to make my basecard, a computer generated sentiment and an embossing folder and a touch of glossy accents on the 'brads'. I just enlarged the butterfly paper to get the larger butterfly.
I hope you'll have time to play along with us this fortnight, remember you don't have to follow the theme, as always...it's anything goes! Just click here to be transported to the challenge blog to see what my lovely teamies have made for this challenge!
Thanks for visiting today.

A magical day....

Good afternoon my friends, I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself today, have been coughing and shivering all weekend...and now I'm full of cold too!  No appetite (what!) and can't concentrate, so I'm bored! Thought I'd just take my mind off my woes by sharing this card...one I made earlier! It's completely simple as I wanted the focus to be on the fabulous image, she's called La Fee Verte and is of course an Aurora Wings beauty. I know mine isn't green but I think she'd look amazing in any colour! She's coloured entirely with copics, I resisted adding any glitter!, just matted the image onto purple cardstock and stamped the sentiment!
Thanks for popping by...sorry about the whingeing! I know people have far worse things to complain about!

A little piece of paper...

Good morning, it's my turn to host the challenge at Fab'n'Funky this week which means I get to pick the theme :)...and  I pick 'Paper Piecing', which is one of my favourite techniques! I love to colour but I also love the effects of using scraps of DP to 'colour' the image...it's quick and it uses up some of my huge, never-seeming-to-diminish stash of 'left overs'! So here's my card, I used a Prima Doll stamp, coloured her hair and skin with copics and then dressed her up with scraps of paper, I used what was left to make the background, just die cut into squares, I added a stamped sentiment and some doodled stitches with a white gel pen to finish. Quick and easy :)
Please take the time to hop on over to the challenge blog, there's some wonderful inspiration from the rest of Team Funky and a lovely prize on  offer from our lovely sponsor this week Live and Love Crafts, so I really hope you'll be inspired to join in with my challenge!
Thanks for visiting today!

Going round in circles...

....is the theme of the current challenge at The East Wind. I try to join in with these challenges as often as I can, the images are so fabulous to colour. I must admit my mind HAS been going around in circles with this...I knew what I wanted to achieve, but couldn't make it work....I've wanted to try this 'spotlight' technique for ages, but haven't got it right... in hindsight I think it would have looked better if I'd coloured the 'grey' parts a bit darker ...although it does look a bit better IRL, there's more contrast! The die cut rings would look better if they were finer, but this was the best I could get with the dies I have! I'd welcome any constructive comments!
Thanks for visiting!

A mermaid for a change...

I'm back again with my second card for today...this one is for the new challenge at Sweet Stampin', a really fun theme for this week - unusual hair colour! I seem to have made a lot of fairy themed cards lately so I thought I'd go for a mermaid , just for a change! This gorgeous image is by Hannah Lynne she's called Rochelle and is available here at Crafts and Me, who are very kindly sponsoring us this week.
I really enjoyed colouring this... I used copics for her skin and hair (not sure if green IS an unusual colour for a mermaid's hair...) and some lovely Cosmic Shimmer acrylic drawing ink brush pens for her tail and 'clothing'. These are so lovely and shimmery, perfect for fins and scales! The design is very similar to my card on Wednesday (scroll down to view!) this time I used a DpP with a large shell to back m y image and added a die cut scroll.
There are some fabulous cards for you to enjoy from my lovely teamies over at Sweet Stampin', with some wild and wonderful hair colours to whet your imagination! We'd love to see what you come up with for this fun challenge, so get stamping, get colouring and join in!
Have a lovely weekend.

A card for Mum

Good morning and happy weekend!
My first post today is with my DT card for this month's challenge at Crafty Calendar, the theme is Mother's Day or 'for a special female', very topical as it's Mother's Day tomorrow here in the UK.
We're sponsored this month by the wonderful A Day for Daisies and the DT were allowed to choose an image to use....you don't want to know how long it took me to choose mine... have you seen how many of these gorgeous whimsical images there are...and just how many of them would be suitable for this challenge ??!! n the end I settled for this little sweetie, she made me think of my childhood and how I loved to play dress up with my friends and my sister! In those days (!) we didn't have  'bought' costumes from the Disney shop and the like...we dressed up in Mum's clothes...preferably her best ones if we could get our hands on them! We would trail around swathed in dresses that we had to hold up, staggering in high heels many sizes too large, faces smothered with lipstick, thinking we were the bee's knees!
Anyway here is my card for my lovely Mum, I used a template from Sandra's Scrapshop to make the card base and copics to colour my image... it's made with love and happy memories.
Thanks for looking.

Just a word...

Good morning, Thursday already....how the weeks are flying by again, I hate to wish time away -it passes too quickly anyway- but I must admit I am longing for spring! Sunshine and warmth and enjoying the garden...won't be long now!
My card today is for the new challenge over at Southern Girls and I've chosen to use another fairy image. This little beauty is by Digistamp Atelier and is available here, I think she's gorgeous and I'm obviously not the only one when I see how many of my teamies have chosen to use this same image :) just click here to see for yourself!
The theme this fortnight is a nice easy one...just make sure there's a word (or words) on the front of your creation. There are some lovely prizes on offer from our two fabulous sponsors this challenge  - Digistamp Atelier and Julia Spiri - so all that remains now is for you to get creating and join in!
Have a lovely day!

A garden fairy

Good morning, I'm here with my DT card for the new challenge starting today at Creative Moments.. The optional theme this fortnight is to have a sentiment on the front of your creation, but as always -anything goes! We have no less than three wonderful sponsors this time - Lacy Sunshine ; Robyn's Fetish and SLS Lines so there are some fabulous digis to be won!
My card is made using the beautiful Garden flower fairy image from SLS Lines. I used my copics to colour her, then fussy cut the image and placed her in the frame backed with a lovely DP  from Heartfelt creations. I kept the design really simple, just adding a stamped sentiment and a couple of flowers cut from a spare piece of the DP.

Thanks for visiting today,  don't forget to stop by at Creative Moments to enjoy the beautiful creations from the rest of the team, and of course, we'd love to see your beautiful work too!
