Make it Bright at Catch the Bug

Hi and happy Saturday, hope the weather is lovely wherever you are...we're currently enjoying a spell of wonderful sunshine here in the UK.
This weeks Saturday challenge at Catch the Bug has a fun theme...Use kraft  and add a pop of bright colour. Here's my card featuring Cute Bee Flower, quick and easy to make apart from the corrugated yellow paper...I found a gadget I bought years ago that crinkles paper and card...but it kept going wonky! Got there in the end though!
Thanks for visiting, hope you choose to play along, just click here to join the fun and enjoy the lovely creations from my teamies.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend

Quick and easy Christmas..

Hi, back again with something a little different from my earlier card today!
This week's challenge at Fab'n'Funky  is hosted by our lovely and talented Wends and she's picked the theme of 'Quick and Easy Christmas', so anything for Christmas as long as it's quick and easy to make, great idea Wends!
What usually takes me the longest when I'm making a card is colouring the image, so I looked through my stamp stash to find one that doesn't need colouring...I came across this beauty, a lovely silhouette stamp from Ingo Blue. It's quite large too so fills up the whole card easily! I stamped it with black archival ink onto white card (used the stamp platform for this as remembered it's quite difficult to stamp it by hand...so saved time and paper there!), cut it into 3 sections and mounted it onto gold card. I drew a border with a black pen and added the die cut words. I used a black card base for contrast.
My teamies at Fab'n' Funky have come up with some lovely ideas for quick Christmas creations, so why not hop over and take a look? We'd love to see your ideas and tips too, so come and join us...no sponsors or prizes this week- we're creating just for fun!

So that's it from me today, Thanks for visiting!

Chris

Fun in the sun

Good morning, we're enjoying some wonderful summer weather in the UK just now, hot sunny days but the nights have been cool enough to sleep...perfect!
The optional theme this fortnight at Creative Moments is 'Summer fun', so very appropriate!
I used a sweet image, Summer Girl 3 from MMedel Illustrations, one of our lovely sponsors for this challenge. I used copics to colour, fussy cut her and popped her amongst the waves to enjoy her drink!
Thanks for visiting, please hop over to Creative Moments for full details of all our lovely sponsors for this challenge and to enjoy the inspiration makes from my teamies It would be great if you chose to join us this fortnight, you don't have to follow the theme...anything goes.

Colour challenge at Catch the Bug

Today at Catch the Bug we have a colour challenge for you.
Here's my take on it featuring Kidz Daisy. Isn't she cute...and I love these colours!
Hope you choose to play along this week, just click here for more inspiration.
Happy weekend

Food and drink...

...well drink anyway! (there is a strawberry, so that's the food taken care of)
Our new Challenge at Sweet Stampin' has the fun theme of 'food and drink'. I used a previously unsullied stamp I bought a couple of years ago and never got around to removing from the packet! Coloured with copic and loads of stickles for the bubbles. I die cut squares from pink and white cardstock to create the 'tiles',  the cocktail glasses are made with a tiny punch. I stamped the sentiment onto a stitched tag die cut. Not too sure how long it would take for a rag doll to dry after a bubble bath though :)
As always our challenge is JFF, however there is a wonderful badge for the top 3!  All you have to do to play along is stamp something , somewhere on your creation...and follow the theme of course, so why not play along this week? There's plenty of beautiful creations from my lovely teamies to be enjoyed here.

Monochrome

Good morning, this week's challenge at Fab'n'Funky is hosted by our lovely Pat K , she's chosen one of my favourite themes 'monochrome' :) We are sponsored this week by DigiStamps4Joy, and I chose to use an image I've had for ages and never used...unfortunately I can't find it in the shop, so maybe it's no longer available (can't imagine why, it's beautiful)...teach me to look first next time!
Anyway, image is coloured with copics, I used random papers from stash, a big and beautiful bow recycled from some gift wrapping, a very old prima flower, a doily, scrap of lace and a few pearls. The sentiment die cut is sizzix Tim Holtz.
Thanks for taking the time to visit today, hopefully you will find the time to play along,

Just for fun....

Good morning, had a little time to play over the weekend and indulged in a bit of colouring therapy! This little cutie, Twinkles Tulips, was a freebie (I think!) from Polkadoodles a while ago, I enjoyed colouring her with my copics. I used some scraps of DP from my ever-growing -stash, and a sketch from Cheerful Sketches.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a good day.

Oldie But a Goodie at Catch the Bug

Oldies But Goodies!

Hi, it's 'Oldie but a Goodie Thursday at Catch the Bug, time to feature some of Bugaboo's earlier images, I made this quick card showcasing this little cutie, Girl Side Peeker she so remind me of my sister when she was a little girl. I'm sending it to her to cheer her up, her rheumatoid arthritis is playing her up at the moment, she's in a lot of pain and can barely hobble around the house. She's waiting to have some kind of nuclear injection in her knees which will hopefully ease the pain and improve her mobility, I'm hoping the appointment comes through quickly.
Thanks for visiting, hope you have a good day.

June challenge at Sweet Stampin' Christmas

Good morning, it's time for our June Challenge at Christmas at Sweet Stampin'... that means we're halfway through the year...already, I think someone must have stolen a large chunk of it!
This month I made a circular card (it does stand up, I cut a small piece off the bottom inside the card to give a straight edge to balance on). The stamp is one of a set from C.C. Designs, Snowman Kids, coloured with copics and fussy cut to stand inside the snowflake die cut, which I cut from glitter card. I added a bow, stamped sentiment tag and some little bells.
If you want to get ahead with your Christmas makes, this would be a great time to join us! There's more inspiration to be seen over on the Challenge Blog, so why not hop over and take a look!

I'll be back in a bit with another card!

Shhh! It's a secret!

Good afternoon, a quick post from me to share the card I made to enter the current challenge at Aurora Wings - Joyous occasions. I made a birthday card featuring the sweet Primrose Elf, which I've cropped slightly. Colouring medium is copics, papers are 'Chalkboard' (Craftwork Cards), very old flowers from stash, sentiment banners hand cut and hand written.
Thanks for visiting, have a lovely evening.

A most splendid birthday!

Good morning and happy weekend, our challenge theme  this week at Sweet Stampin' is 'Father's Day'. I'm sharing the card I made for my husband's birthday ...his birthday is in June as is Father's Day...he LOVES June.  our son and daughter do not!!!
I used a fabulous set of stamps from Hobby Art to make my card, hubby is a keen cyclist so these stamps really appealed to me! I stamped the focal image and coloured with copics, stamped it again and cut out the sentiment banners, attached them over the originals using Pinflair glue to add a bit of dimension. I stamped the bottle 3 times , coloured with copics and cut those out too. The pocket watch is die cut and I added a couple of wooden cogs. The gorgeous steampunk background papers are 'Alchemy' by Kanban...I've hoarded these for quite a few years! His birthday was yesterday and he loved the card!
My teamies have made some fabulous masculine cards to inspire you this week, why not hop over here and take a look .
Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend

Oops!

OOps! Should have scheduled this post before I went on holiday...but didn't! I made this card using the beautiful Butterfly Flower Corner which is this week's new release at Bugaboo.
Check out the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog to see what the DT have made with this beautiful Flower Butterfly Corner.
I decided to keep my card very CAS as the image stands alone, all I added was a stamped sentiment.
Thanks for visiting, have a beautiful day (even if it isn't your birthday)
Hopefully, I'll have time later to visit and catch up on what I missed whilst enjoying myself in lovely sunny Dorset!

June Challenge at Crafty Calendar

The first Saturday of June!!! Time for our new challenge at Crafty Calendar, sponsored this month by Sheepski Designs the theme is '3 of something'. I coloured up this sweet mermaid image using my copics and lashings of Wink of Stella, try as I might I couldn't get a great photo...the colours are not at all true to life, but this one is the closest! As you can see there are 3 sequins, 3 seahorses and 3 different dp (the large seahorse is cut from dp). You might also notice the aqua coloured layer is stuck on sideways so the wave pattern is going the wrong way...doh!).
I added another photo so you can see the lovely shimmer from the Wink of Stella -see what I mean about the colours!

Please click here to check out the beautiful creations from the rest of the team, it would be great if you decide to play along with us this month.
Have a great weekend
