Flaming poppies!
Hello and happy weekend. I like to play along with Aurora Wings Challenges whenever I can, mainly because I love to colour Mitzi's fantastic images. This time the theme is 'the Elements' and I chose to use the colours of fire'. To make the background I coloured a piece of white cardstock with distress inks in shades of yellow through to red and stenciled some swirls and 'flames' onto it. I added a die cut trellis to the left hand corner, and a strip of embossed vellum mounted onto black card across the centre. The gorgeous AW image is coloured with copics, background of this is again coloured with distress inks in the same shades of yellow orange and red and stenciled with swirls. I added black die cut poppies and a large flourish, more die cut poppies in yellow, orange and red and a vellum swirl (hopefully to look like smoke!).
Thanks for visiting, have a fabulous weekend.

Smash your stash with the Southern Girls
Good morning. There's a new challenge starting today over at Southern Girls. the theme for this fortnight is 'Smash your stash' ie use up some of the stuff you've had stashed away for ages! We're sponsored this time by Polkadoodles.
The image I used for this card is from the Eden Collection, Cherryblossom. I coloured her up whilst on holiday 2 years ago so I think she fits the theme! I stamped the white background paper with a Tim Holtz stamp I love, which has been lying neglected for at least 2 years, probably a lot longer! I used a punch for the borders and added some very old Prima flowers, brads and tiny (and elderly!) buttons.
Please hop over to the Southern Girls blog to see what my lovely teamies have made to inspire you, then why not follow our excellent example and use up some of that lovely stuff you've had hidden away for ages, we'd love to see what you make with it.
Thanks for calling by an d enjoy your day.

Anything goes at Creative Moments
Good morning! I have to say I don't know where the last week disappeared to, I've been so busy with the grandchildren. This is definitely not a complaint, we've had a lovely time, I'm still recovering from a day out at Chessington World of Adventures...impressing my older 2 granddaughters by going on the thrill rides with them (old enough to know better, I know -but some people just don't grow up do they?:)). This was followed by looking after all 3 of them yesterday, they're very good girls but full of energy and on the go all of the time! Wouldn't want it any other way...but it was lovely at 7pm when they'd all gone home...won't be missing them for long though, they're back on Saturday for a sleepover!
Anyway, back to the card. Our new challenge at Creative Moments is 'Anything Goes' no twist this fortnight...
We have two wonderful sponsors who generously gave the team some lovely digis to play with, I chose this lovely little fairy from Rick St Dennis she's called Pansy and is available here. I coloured her with copics and added Wink of Stella to her wings and dress (which of course doesn't show in the photo!).
The red circles are vellum, I added some stencilling with black Nuvo Glimmer paste to my background DP. The sentiment banner and stamped flowers were coloured with Zig Clean Color brush pens. The leaves are die cut.
For full details of the sponsors and prizes and to see the fabulous inspiration from my teamies, please click here to visit the Creative Moments challenge blog.
Thanks for visiting and have a lovely day

Dragonfly and doodles
Good morning and happy weekend, today my card is for our new challenge at Sweet Stampin'...our theme this week is 'add some doodling' ...it can be a little or a lot as long as it's there. It seems that doodling is something you either love...or hate...doesn't seem to be a middle ground :) Me, I love it, so I had a great time creating my card. The cute dragonfly is a stamp, but he looks kind of doodled so I chose him as the focal point of my card, stamped him onto white card, coloured with copics and die cut into a circle. I then doodled the border around the edge. I matted the circle onto a slightly larger green one then placed it in the middle of my card base and lightly drew around it with a pencil, I used a black pen to draw a border around the edge and then doodled the corners and edges that showed around the circle...I started off trying to make it symmetrical, but soon got tired of that so just drew where I wanted to...sooo relaxing!
Well, are you a doodle - lover or do you hate it with a passion? Whichever it is why not have a go and join us this week...if it's something you love doing you'll enjoy it and if it's something you hate you might surprise yourself! Take a look here and see what my teamies have come up with, there are some brilliant makes, some of the team are definitely not in the doodling fanclub but they've all come up trumps with their clever ideas.
Thanks for visiting and enjoy the weekend.

Anything goes at Fab 'n' Funky
Hello and good morning, there's a new challenge at Fab 'n' Funky starting today, it's my turn to pick the theme this week so I pick 'Anything Goes'...can't get any easier than that! Our sponsor for this challenge is the fabulous Di's Digi Stamps offering a lovely prize for the lucky winner.
I made a hanger rather than a card for my Mum's birthday last month. She's bedridden and we hang her cards from cords around the walls....she gets loads of them as we're a very large family. Her eyesight isn't great so big is best! This is quite big, about 20 inches long. I made some templates for the letters and cut them from purple (already lightly embossed) cardstock, distressed and inked the edges adding faux stitching. The letters are joined together by threading ribbon through eyelets.
The little bear is of course a Di's digi stamp available here, I printed him quite large, coloured him with copics , fussy cut and stuck him on my hanger. The daisies are Polkadoodles stamps, coloured with copics and die cut. The butterflies are die cut from vellum and overlaid with the yellow card, tiny green gems added to their bodies. The sentiment is a LOTV stamp and the little gold hearts are Nuvo Crystal Drops. Mum was pleased with this and it's still hanging in her room now.
Thanks for calling by, be sure to hop over to Fab 'n' Funky to see my teamies' beautiful creations, I will be so happy if you choose to play along this week!

August Challenge...Christmas at Sweet Stampin'
Hello my friends and visitors, hope all is good with you and yours.
The August Challenge at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' is up and running...only 4 more to go this year! As always, the theme is " anything goes as long as it's Christmas related".
I've had a massive tidy up and clear out of my craft room over the last couple of weeks...my husband made me some new storage as he was fed up climbing over stuff to get to his computer, 'my' craft room is meant to be shared space but one of is a bit selfish and takes over. It is lovely and tidy now, I can see floor and desk .... and I have rediscovered lots of neglected stamps like this little House Mouse hanging from the holly. So cute and fun to colour with my trusty Copics, die cut into a circle and matted onto red and gold circles. I added a stamped sentiment and some tiny die cut holly leaves and doodled stitching around the edge.
Inside the card is another cute mouse, sporting his Santa hat, with a stamped sentiment and holly sprig.

Sit back and relax!
Good morning, hope your week is going well so far! It's been very quiet for me so far....had some time to play and even made a dress for Emmy (youngest GD), quite surprised that sewing machine still works and that I still know how to operate it!
My card today is for our new challenge over at Creative Moments, the optional theme this time is 'make it funny'. I was lucky enough to be able to choose a digi from Doctor Digi, one of our fabulous sponsors for this challenge...these images are brilliant, great to colour ....and funny! Meet Colin, such a picture of sartorial elegance in his socks and pants...but hey...he sure knows how to chill! He's happy as long as he has a cup of tea and control of the remote...remind you of anyone!?! I use my copics to colour, papers from stash, added some twine (coloured green with copic) a couple of buttons and some stamped sentiments, a quick and simple make!
There's plenty of fabulous cards to make you smile from the rest of the DT so just click here to take a peek! Hope you find the time to play along this fortnight.
Thanks for visiting!

Crafty Calendar- shaped cards
Hi...back again with my DT card for our August challenge at Crafty Calendar, the theme is 'shaped cards' sponsored by Crafty Ribbons
I was given a sweet image from Sheepski Designs, Fuzzy Friends, which I coloured with Copics, fussy cut and mounted, using sticky pads, onto a circle cut from DP. I added a die cut flower, button and twine and a little chipboard swallow coloured with DI. The sentiment banner is stamped. The card base is cut with a Crealies Die.
There's loads of lovely inspiration from the rest of the DT to be enjoyed by clicking here, so do hop over and take a look! Looking forward to seeing what you make of this challenge.
Thanks for visiting my blog today...enjoy the weekend!

Make a wish..
Good morning! It's time for some Summer Fun at Sweet Stampin' this week! It hasn't been too summery here lately, hopefully weather will improve soon!
To make my card I used a Mo Manning cutie...I just love this image, looks so like my eldest granddaughter at about 4 years old and remind me of the time that Olivia picked a huge dandelion clock, closed her eyes and sucked in a deep breath....along with a mouthful of dandelion seeds!!! I can still see the look of disgust and horror on her face now! I laughed so much it hurt...Olivia did not laugh...she still doesn't find this story funny...I still do..some children have no sense of humour :)))) I think I'll send her her this card...))
Anyway, back to the card, I coloured the image with copics. The blue background paper is stamped and embossed with grasses and seed heads using white detail EP. I added die cut dandelions and 'wish' sentiment, and 2 punched butterflies.
There's plenty of fun and fabulous summery inspiration to be seen on the Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog, so why not hop over and take a look! Hope to see you there this week
Have a lovely weekend
