Good times..

Good morning, it's time for a new challenge at Fab'n' Funky., this fortnight Buffy has chosen the theme of 'Masculine'. This is the card I made for my nephew's 17th birthday at the end of last year- he was so excited to begin his driving lessons, he's been saving for ages to buy a car....wheels and freedom! I heard yesterday that he's passed his theory test - now just the practical part to go!

The image I used is an oldie from Kenny K, coloured withCopicsand matted onto red card. The black background card has been embossed with birthday words ef. I added a stamped sentiment, twine and 2 tiny brads.

There's more inspiration from my lovely teamies over at Fab'n' Funky so do hop over and take a look!

Thanks for stopping by, have a good day

Chris

Little Easter Bunnies

Good morning, hasn't it been a glorious week here in the UK? Hours of warm sunshine every day! I've made the most of it and spring cleaned my summer house (with a little 'help' from Marvin.)- all ready for use now! During the winter it gets used to store garden furniture etc and the odd delicate plant as we don't have a greenhouse and the garden shed is full to bursting with tools, lawnmower etc. So everything turned out of summerhouse into the garden- floor swept and scrubbed, windows cleaned,  rug vacuumed. All the throws and cushion covers washed and ironed, smells lovely and clean in there now. My two youngest granddaughters will be delighted, they love to play in there during the summer months  and miss it during the winter when there's no room to move! I love to read in there when it's too chilly to sit in the garden, lovely and peaceful- even with Marvin's company.
Today's card is for our new challenge at Crafty Catz, sponsored this week by The Paper Shelter,  Ginny has picked the theme of Easter for the DT to use- optional, as always, for anyone who wishes to play along.
The DT were given a cute image to use, Little Easter Bunnies, this digi set comes with both a coloured and an uncoloured  version  as welll as background papers. I used the uncoloured one, printed it twice and  coloured one  with Copic markers. I coloured  two of the  bunnies  on the second one and fussy cut them.I made a tent fold card with an egg shaped aperture, placing the complete image inside, then the two fussy cut bunnies on the outside of the card. I die cut some 'grass' and added tiny punched flowers, and a couple of punched butterflies coloured to match those on the image- two little pompoms for tails and I was finished!

Thanks for visiting today- be sure to check out the rest of the DT makes over at Crafty Catz , hope you'll be inspired to play along.

Have a great weekend

Bunny and Butterfly

Good morning, it's another quick post from me as the window fitters couldn't make it yesterday...so are coming back today to finish the job- my craft room is one of the windows that didn't get done so it will be a no-go area for most of the day! The new windows do look lovely though so I'll just have to be patient!

Our new challenge at Crafty Catz is sponsored by

  KLM Digital Designs

It's Christine's turn to host, she picked the theme of
add sparkle or glitter for the team to follow.

I used the cute Bunny and Butterfly image, coloured with copic markers, a few stencilled circles and die cut frame. There is a tiny bit of glitter on the butterfly wings and I added a few seqins for some sparkle. This sweet image does come with several lovely sentiments but I haven't added one as I may want to use it for an Easter card, but haven't decided as I think it would be suitable for lots of occasions.
Thanks for visiting today, don't forget to check out the challenge blog to see what the rest of the team have been up to this week and remember it's always anything goes at Crafty Catz so no need to follow the theme if you prefer not to!

Colour it! At Fab'n' Funky Challenges

Good morning, a quick post from me as the new windows are going in today- and one of them is in my craft room. It's still nice and tidy in here so I'm hoping the fitters won't make too much mess- I don't need any help in that department! Our new challenge at Fab'n' Funky begins today and this fortnight
N-Eva is hosting and she  would like to see  a hand -coloured image on your creations. As I love to colour this theme suits me down to the ground! I chose to colour a lovely digi from Aurora Wings, one I've coloured many times before. Although the challenge blog closed years ago (sadly) you can still purchase the digis from the online store. Little elf Kira is available here

Thanks for stopping by and I'm looking forward to admiring your beautifully coloured entries over at Fab'n' Funky.

Have a good day

Hiding...

Hello, today I am hiding in my craft room! We're having our windows and back door replaced tomorrow and there's a lot of messy and very noisy prep going on today! I've made good use of my time though- gave the room a good clean and tidied away all the stuff on my desk- this doesn't happen very often! It is lovely to have space to work in so I don't know why I don't do it more often!

I've coloured up a few images recently so I thought it was about time I used some of them on cards. This lovely image was a recent win from Ching-Chou Kuik, and I enjoyed colouring her in fresh spring colours. I have a lot of 'bought' flowers that I rarely use now so I thought I'd  add a few to the card.

The noise is getting a bit much now- I'm off to the library for some peace and quiet, then I'll take Marvin for his second walk.

Thanks for visiting

Chris

KISS at Sweet Stampin' !

Good morning- time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin' the theme for this fortnight is KISS- Keep It Sweet and Simple. I've used a gorgeous fairy image from Mo Manning- ok maybe you couldn't describe her as 'sweet' but I do love a fairy with attitude!- I've seen just exactly  that expression on small girls' faces many a time!

I wanted to keep the palette simple as well as the design so decided to colour her in sepia tones. I have addded Wink of Stella to her wings so they're lovely and sparkly IRL. I masked her feet to stamp the grassy border , then stamped the sentiment. The stencil is a Tim Holtz one.

The Sweeties have created some fabulous and very varied takes on this theme so don't miss out, just click HERE to hop on over to the Challenge blog- we'd love to see your take on the theme too- so why not get out those stamps and play along.

Thanks for visiting

have a good weekend

Colours of spring

Good morning, after a freezing cold Monday it's been a lovely week here- lots of sunshine, mild and dry- the garden has really enjoyed it too with everything springing to life! Loads of daffs, crocus and snowdrops out even a few early tulips (in pots)! Rebus and forsythia in full bloom, the magnolia is beginning to open up as is the camellia and all the trees and shrubs are wearing leaf buds- lots of spring colours out there! Which leads me onto this week's challenge at Crafty Catz- it's my turn to host and pick a theme for the DT-optional of course for anyone who would like to join in- and the theme I chose is Colours of Spring.

Our sponsor this week is LeAnn’s World 101

My card features Molly, courtesy of our sponsor,  I've coloured this sweet little girl with Copics, framed her with some pretty green DP and added a corner die cut that I've had for years and never used,  I cut it twice, once in yellow for the butterfly. The sentiment is a stamp.

There's plenty more to see over at Crafty Catz, so do take a moment to see what My teamies have been up to this week.

Crafty Catz Challenge #585 Anything goes

Good morning, here I am back again already,  with another CAS card. This one is my DT inspiration card for this week's challenge at Crafty Catz, our host this week is Billie and her optional theme is CAS.

We are sponsored this week by

prize

No sponsor images this week so the team could choose from their own stash- well, I dithered about for ages before deciding to use this little sweetie from Jenoyiva Art. I have coloured with Copic markers and threaded narrow ribbon to replace the stem.
Take a look at the Crafty Catz Blog to see what my lovely teamies have been up to this week- remember anything goes if you've time to play along.

A little paper-piecing

Hi, just a quick post from me with a card I made because I wanted to join in with the Allsorts Challenge this week, the theme is handcoloured or paper/pieced image. I intended to make something more ambitious but was running out of time so I opted for CAS and a hand coloured image with a paper pieced dress. I've added some shading to her dress with pencils, the rest of the colouring is Copic markers. There's some subtle (a bit too subtle) stencilling behind the image. I've had this sweet Mo Manning image for years, and have lost count of how many times I've used it! I love to see little girls in pretty dresses - being a Mum and a Grandmother of 4 girls I know that they're often impractible - leggings and tees are better for playing in (and much easier to launder) but it's lovely to see them dressed up sometimes! Thanks for visiting

Dies/stencils at Fab'n' Funky

Good morning, not a very pleasant one here- wet and miserable- a day for the craft room not the garden!

Our lovely Pat K is hosting this fortnight's challenge over at Fab'n' Funky and she would like to see you use dies or stencils on your project- oh, I had fun with this one - thanks Pat!

I had a lovely time playing with some new stencils and stamps and added some older ones to the mix too. I made a background using Distress Oxide Inks, a Dylusions stencil and various stamps, coloured and cut out the cute Aall and Create girl image and sat her on the die cut splat, the sentiment came in the same set as the image and I think she looks as if she does just that! I die cut a frame using nesting square dies, added some stamping and attached it to the card with foam to add a little dimension.

You won't be disappointed with the beautiful cards the rest of the team have created, so hop over and take a look, then dig out those stencils and dies and show us what you can do!

Thanks for visiting, have a lovely day- whatever the weather!

Chris
