Guest Design at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge.

I recently was lucky enough to win at the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge and was invited to Guest Design for them. of course  I was delighted to accept..
The challenge theme this week is 'For a Child' and I was given some adorable images to use by one of their fabulous sponsors, Pickled Pot Pourri
The set I used is Adorable Animals, there are several cute images along with sentiments in this set...I found it difficult to choose, so as they're quick and easy to colour I made 2 little rocker cards, same design, just different papers, images and embellishments.

Thanks ladies for inviting me to design along with you.

Crafty Catz Challenge #464...it's Summertime!

Good morning, over at Crafty Catz we have a fabulous new challenge for you, the optional theme this week is 'Summer' chosen by Billie who is hosting this week.

We are lucky to have The Paper Shelter sponsor us this challenge

with a lovely prize of 3 digis for our lucky winner.

I used a sweet image I already owned , Not Big Enough, I've had this cute image for ages and finally got around to colouring it whilst on holiday last month., I thought she was perfect for the summer theme!
My eldest granddaughter also made a card with this cutie, she found a printed image in my 'to colour when I get time ' box (they're always rifling through it looking for something that takes their fancy.:)
Here's Livvy's card
She made it last year when she was 11, I showed her how to make an easel card base, but it's all her own work and design. She coloured the image with promarkers, I think it's brilliant!!!
Please hop over to Crafty Catz to see the lovely summery creations from the team,  I hope you choose to play along with us...remember anything goes, the theme is optional.
Thanks for stopping by,
Have a lovely weekend

A bit of recycling...

Good morning, this week is flying past so quickly after a busy but very enjoyable weekend. I had a lovely time with my granddaughters culminating with a wonderful visit to the Harry Potter Studios which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Our tour was late afternoon and we didn't actually get home until almost 10 pm, the girls were still going strong, don't know where they get their energy from! I spent yesterday recovering...it's very quiet here now the girls have gone home!

Now for the card...over at Fab 'n' Funky our lovely Jools is hosting this week's challenge and she would like to see something recycled on your projects..
My recycled items are a junk mail envelope, mainly green outside( the die cut leaves) with a grey 'honeycomb ' print inside (the layer under the image) some acetate from a box lid (the bees were stamped onto this and fussy cut) and a tag from new clothing, it was kraft card and I die cut the mesh peeping out between the shaped layers from it.
I die cut small hexagons from kraft card and arranged them in a honeycomb pattern onto a kraft card base. The focal image is one of Mo Manning' cuties, Baby Fairy Bee, which I 've coloured with copics. I added a little stencilling around the image.
For more ideas on items to recycle pop over to Fab'n' Funky to see what my teamies have created this week.
I hope you choose to play along...I'd love to see what ideas you come up with too!
Thanks for visiting

A gift bag for you...

Monday is 'Anything But A Card ' at Catch the Bug, I made a quick and simple little gift bag.
I diecut the bag shape from a pearly pink piece of cardstock left over from another project and decorated it with some of the images from the Flower Garden Set, which I coloured in various shades of brown, I added a tiny tag with a stamped sentiment, a button and a scrap of ribbon to finish.

This weekend has flown by, been so good to spend time with my lovely girls!
Was going to share a photo of how their bedroom looked this morning but did not want to frighten you!!!! Definitely not a sight for the faint hearted or house proud!!!
Off to the Harry Potter Studios today.

Thanks for visiting

Crafty Catz Challenge #463

Good morning, it's my turn to host the challenge at Crafty Catz this week, which means I get to pick the optional theme, I chose 'monochrome'.
We are so lucky to be sponsored by MORGAN'S ARTWORLD for this challenge

The lucky winner will receive the 3 images shown below, as used by the team.

I chose to use the fabulous Lizzie Hopwood, I think this image is amazing and thoroughly enjoyed colouring her in various shades of green, I made a frame for her by die cutting an arched window into piece of cardstock which I had coloured with distress inks. I stamped the vine leaves around the archway using distress inks. I adhered this onto an embossed  easel card base, adding some twine, diecuts and feathers to finish.
My teamies have, as always, created some fantastic cards using the beautiful sponsor images, so please do hop over and take a look!

I'm in for a busy weekend as I have my 2 elder granddaughters staying with me for a few days, we've loads planned, including a visit to the Harry Potter film studios on Monday...not sure who's more excited about it the girls or me!

Hope you have a lovely weekend, whatever you are doing!

White wedding...

Good morning, this week's challenge at Fab'n' Funky is hosted by our very talented Neva, who has picked the lovely theme of 'Weddings'.
I used some stamps I have had for ages from a very pretty set of clear stamps...I would tell you the name of the brand but unfortunately have put them somewhere weird  safe and can't find them just now....anyway I stamped the main image and embossed with silver E.P.,die cut into a circle and mounted onto scalloped circle, which in turn is layered onto a heart embossed rectangle of the same card. I added a satin ribbon, die cut flourish and some stamped (Honey Doo) vellum flowers. The sentiment is also stamped and embossed with the silver E.P.
Please hop over to Fab'n' Funky to see what my lovely teamies have created his week, hope you choose to play along!

It takes a big heart...

Good afternoon, hope you're enjoying a lovely weekend - weather here not great, keeps chucking it down with rain...but there IS some sunshine in between! Hoping for better next week!
Our optional theme at Sweet Stampin' for this week is 'Teacher Appreciation', I think it's a lovely theme choice...teachers should be appreciated! My daughter is an early years teacher and I know how hard she works and what kind of problems she has to deal with on a day to day basis.
Despite liking the theme I did struggle a bit, my granddaughters will make their own thank you cards for their teachers! So I made a tag which can be tied to gift or used as a bookmark.
I die cut a large tag from white cardstock and used my Distress Inks to colour it. I cut a heart shape from copy paper to mask the centre and stamped around the edges with my lovely Lavinia stamps. I used some old alphabet peg stamps to stamp the sentiment., added a die cut swirl and some ribbon.
There's more inspiration from my teamies over at Sweet Stampin' and we'd love to see your take on this theme!

Big hat!- Crafty Cats Challenge #461

Good morning, another week has come and gone and I'm here with my DT card for this week's challenge at Crafty Catz.
This week the optional theme is 'Female' chosen by our lovely Zora who is hosting this week. Our sponsor for this is Sheepski Designs
Visit Our Shop

The lucky DT were given some stunning images to play with ..usually I take ages choosing which to use but.as soon as I saw the gorgeous Emmy's Hat I knew what I wanted to do with it...it had to be paper pieced! I coloured her face and hair with my copics then paper pieced the hat, adding av little shading! It so reminds me of a hat I owned back in the day when 'hippie hats' were an essential part of any girl's wardrobe...along with a flowing maxi dress and platform shoes and long hair...those were the days my friends!
I hope you can find the time to hop over to Crafty Catz to enjoy the fabulous makes from my teamies...I think we all loved using these gorgeous images! Remember it's easy to play along...the theme is optional so anything goes!
Thanks for visiting , enjoy the weekend...let's hope for an improvement in the weather!

May Challenge at Crafty Calendar

Hello, hope you're enjoying a lovely Sunday afternoon...whatever you are doing! This month's challenge is up and running over at Crafty Calendar, our May sponsor is Sheepski Designs

The theme for this month is Distressing.
I chose to use a beautiful image I already owned, Serenity, available HERE. I coloured with Copics and carefully fussy cut, not wanting any white edges.
The background is created with Distress Oxides and D Is , a few stencils and a bit of stamping and some frantage. I did get a little distressed when I tried to add the glittery distress paste stuff, it's not very old, the lid was securely screwed on but it's gone all dry and crumbly...binned it and won't be buying that again! The sentiment is stamped, I added some bakers twine, flowers and brads, a leaf charm (recycled from an old bracelet) and a metal corner.
I enjoyed making this, hope you like it!
Please hop over to Crafty Calendar for more inspiration from my lovely teamies and to add your own fabulous creations of course!

Crafty Catz Challenge # 460

Good morning, I'm back home after a lovely relaxing week enjoying the spectacular beauty of the New Forest at this time of year. Everything is so fresh and vibrant, the trees look amazing in their spring finery, the hedgerows are bursting with spring flowers and of course it's wonderful to see the animals roaming freely, it always makes me smile when they amble down the middle of the road, totally oblivious to the traffic! An added bonus was that everywhere was really quiet...probably because we picked the week between two bank holiday weekends, I'm sure it's a lot busier right now!

Anyway, back to business...I'm a day late with my DT card for this week's challenge at Crafty Catz which is hosted by our lovely Nick this week. The optional theme she has chosen is Bon Voyage/Travel.  We are lucky to have 2 fabulous sponsors this week-

to make my card I used a cute image from Little Blue Button, Let's Go, coloured with copics and fussy cut. I printed the girl twice and used pinflair glue to glue the second image in place on the suitcase for a bit of dimension. The word panel behind the image is stamped with a magazine freebie stamp that I've had for years, DP from stash and I added a tag, ticket and travel bag charm.
As always, my fabulous teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you and we're hoping you choose to join us this week...remember the theme is optional, anything goes at Crafty Catz

Thanks to all who were kind enough to visit my blog and leave comments while I was away...much appreciated, I'll be round to visit you all soon!

Guest Design for LeAnns World 101

Good morning, I was delighted to be invited to guest design for LeAnne's World 101 after winning a recent challenge. I made my card featuring the sweet Night Out digital stamp, which I've coloured with Copics and fussy cut. The dp made me think of nightclubs and disco lights( am I showing my age here!) and seemed perfect for the background.
These images are fairly new to me and they're fabulous to colour, loads more available in the Etsy Shop, also there's a Blog Hop starting on 7th May, please visit the Challenge Blog for the details.
Thanks for stopping by , will be back from my hols later today and will catch up with you all soon.

Boxes , bags and tags at Fab'n Funky Challenges.

Another scheduled post from me today with my creation for our challenge at Fab'n' Funky. The host this week is our lovely Wends who would like to see your boxes, bags and tags.
I made a tag which I'll use for a bookmark. I used Distress Oxides to colour the background, then stamped my image, Indian Flourish, Lavinia Stamps with Warm Breeze Versafine Clair ink, I dried it and stamped the same image, slightly offset, with versamark and embossed with gold EP.  I also embossed around the edges with the same EP. I added some fibres and ribbon to make the tassel.
For some fabulous ideas and inspiration just hop over and take a look at the beautiful creations from the rest of Team Funky! Hope you choose to play along and inspire us with your own brilliant ideas!
Have a lovely day
