Autumn days

 Good morning, this fortnight's challenge at Sweet Stampin' is starting today, the theme is 

AUTUMN

To make the focal panel of my card I merged two digital images, the background is Polkadoodles and the busy little girl raking the leaves is by Mo Manning, all coloured with Copic markers, a lot of colouring but very relaxing! The frame around the images is an Aall & Create die matted onto a very old piece of design paper, long lost its packaging so no idea of brand, the sentiment is part of a set of stamps- also no packaging! 

Autumn is just around the corner here, the trees still have their leaves and they're still mostly green with some hints of yellow and orange creeping in. Walking in the woods yesterday I could hear the acorns dropping to the ground so it won't be long until the leaves follow, the weather has been so lovely this week that it still feels like summer, a real bonus at this time of year.

For a star!

 Good morning, this fortnight's Anything Goes Challenge at Crafty Catz starts today and this is the card I made for my granddaughter who had excellent results for her GCSEs, securing her 6th form place at the school of her choice, so proud of her for working so hard. She's settled into the new school really well, making new friends and  enjoying her studies- and the school's excellent sporting facilities! The happy little fella is a Mo Manning digi and I added the star before I printed it out. Image and star coloured with Copic markers, then added the stamped and white embossed sentiment to the star along with a little stencilling and some small stamped stars (Lavinia).

As always, plenty more inspiration to be enjoyed over at Crafty Catz- hope you can find the time to play along.

I'm back from a lovely relaxing holiday, we stayed in Flamborough, such a beautiful part of Yorkshire and so many fabulous beaches and walks  to explore, Marvin thoroughly approved of all of them! were so lucky with the weather -absolutely perfect temperature for a holiday with a dog and hardly any rain.

Autumn Leaves

 Good morning, a reminder that our September Challenge at We Love Stamping is half way through - the theme is Trees, Leaves or Anything Goes

I made a slimline card with using a leaf which was a magazine freebie some years ago. I stamped it onto small scraps of smooshed paper left over from a previous make.  l die cut s squares, matted  them onto slightly larger white squares, matted onto a panel of leaf-embossed kraft. I added some twine and two tiny stamped tags.

Midway Reminder for Fab'n' Funky Challenge #642

 Good morning, we.ve reached the half way mark for our September Challenge at

  Fab'n Funky-

 the theme is More Than One Fold.

These are a couple of cards I made some time ago, the fold is a Tuxedo fold (lots of tutorials online), It looks complicated but a lot easier than it appears. I've used several dies of various brands- balloons, stars, candles, banners, letters and numerals cut from shimmer or glitter card.

Tree of Dreams

 The September Challenge at We Love Stamping begins today, 

the theme for September, chosen by Emma is 

Trees and Leaves 

or Anything Goes.

 

2 prizes, $30 store voucher from Taylored Expressions and Penny Black stamp set and stencil from Buddly Crafts (photo's not to scale).

My first thought was to make something with autumn leaves and colours but looking through my Lavinia stamps I came across this beautiful tree stamp and this is what evolved. 

I stamped the tree, Annie and Edward with black Versafine Clair ink onto a square of white card, then stamped and white embossed the stars around the branches. Scattered Straw an Dusty Concord  distress inks blended over the top. The Winter Magic words stamped several times around the edge and a couple of snowflake stickers (which might have been a mistake!)

Late Summer vibes at Crafty Calendar

 Good morning Crafty Calendar Challenges are back after the summer break,

 the theme for September is SUMMER. 

What a summer it's been, day after day of sunshine- sometimes a bit too hot! No rain for weeks on end, it's still pretty warm here in the South East but thankfully we are getting some rain again, it's much needed. 

So our theme gives you a chance to bring out those lovely sunshine-y summer creations before autumn really sets in.

This card is for Emily, my 12 year old granddaughter, their summer break involved a few days camping in Cornwall, enjoying lots of beach time in the glorious weather- surf boarding was the order of the day, then they headed off to N. Italy, driving through Switzerland to Lake Garda, where amongst many other activities, the girls discovered the joys of paddle boarding. I thought this fun Krista Smith digi would remind her of the wonderful summer she's enjoyed. Image is coloured with Copics, fussy cut and placed upon the 'waves'. DP is from the Works, and the die cut sun rays are a Moonstone Die. I added a couple of stamped sentiments.

Guest Design for C.R.A.F.T. Challenge

Good morning, I was delighted to be invited to Guest Design for this fortnight's challenge at C.R.A.F.T. thank you ladies.

The theme is Back to School or Anything Goes sponsored by Sheepski Designs

Not needing any Back to School cards I went for the Anything Goes option  using the first Sheepski image I owned, I've coloured this beauty (Butterfly Hair) so many times and still enjoy doing the process. I printed and masked the image, added the stencilling and some splatters, coloured her up with my Copics using sepia tones. I added a stamped sentiment and a few tiny gold gems to finish.
