Guest Design at TIOT

Good morning, I was honoured to be invited to Guest Design for this fortnight's challenge at TIOT.- .

The theme for the challenge is SUMMER BLOOMS.

I stepped out of my comfort zone and used die cuts instead of stamps/digis to create my card...in fact there's no stamping at all which is rare for me. The flower dies are from Polkadoodles, they are a bit larger than I expected when I  ordered them! I cut them from white card and coloured them with distress oxides in soft shades of blue and mauve, two different stencils and same ink pad for the backgrounds. The happy birthday die, cut several times from white card and stacked together, is from Amazon (unbranded).

There's lots of fabulous inspiration from the lovely ladies at TIOT so be sure to pay them a visit!

Thanks for visiting

Chris

I'll be watching you

Hello, I had some time to play yesterday evening and made a tag- O/H was watching the football, not my thing, give me tennis any day, at least you don't see the kind of behaviour that the losing team exhibited after the match, totally appalling! Maybe if they can't be sportsmanlike enough to concede defeat gracefully, they shouldn't be allowed to take part.
Anyway, enough of that and back to the tag, I die cut a tag shape from a scrap of smooshed and stencilled card (one I made earlier) and stamped the dog, a Pink Ink stamp, directly onto it. The stencilled background showed through and I didn't like the effect (a weird patchy dog!) so I used darker colours of Zig water colour pens to colour him. I stamped the sentiment using tiny little alphabet peg stamps that I've had for many years with Twilight Versaphine Clair ink, then stamped the dots and paw prints. I've used my favourite, blue/brown colour combo so I'm entering the Tag-Along ( and ATC) Challenge.

Summer poppies

Good morning, a reminder post for this month's challenge at We Love Stamping, the theme is Summertime or Anything Goes.

The prizes on offer are some lovely  Lavinia stamps and watercolours.

I used several Lavinia stamps and a Lavinia stencil to create my summery scene-Garden Poppy; Wild flower; Orchard Grass; BirdsSmall Pixy Houses; Small Pine Trees., I used the same stencil and a couple of Lavinia fairies on the front of the card, and decorated an envelope to match

Petal Pixie

Good morning, today sees the start of a new challenge at Crafty Catz- the last one before we break for the summer. As always the theme is Anything Goes and you have two weeks to join in.

My card, a very simple design-it was  too hot to think of  anything else- features a new Mo Manning cutie, Petal Pixie Pansy. If you haven't visited Mo's new shop recently you've missed a treat- new images are coming thick and fast at the moment, all of them so tempting!

I've used my markers to colour, old papers from LOTV, a stamped sentiment and a border die, brand unknown.

Well that's it from me, there's more inspiration from the rest of the team over at Crafty Catz, so why not pop over and join in with this challenge before September.

Thanks for visiting

Have a good weekend

Noel

Good morning, today sees the start of a new challenge at Fab'n' Funky, this will be the last one before we break for the summer.
The theme chosen by our lovely Pat, is Christmas in July.
To make my card I've merged three little angel images, available in the new shop. The background paper comes with one of them. I've used my Copics to colour and given them some die cut clouds to float on. The die cut musical notes are Memory Box and the 'noel' is part of a TH set.

There's more inspiration over at F'n'F so please do hop over and check it out- hope you can find the time to play along, you'll be needing those Christmas cards before you know it.

Bees and blooms

Good morning, it's the first Sunday of the month so time for a challenge over at We Love Stamping.

The theme for July is SUMMERTIME or Anything Goes.

There are 2 fabulous prizes, Lavinia Stamps and watercolours.

I used several Lavinia stamps to create my card, Bumble and HumFlower Divine and Forest Creeper, the background is Distress Oxide Inks and a honeycomb stencil, I also used a sunray stencil but doesn't show up very well. The sentiment is a sticker.

Check out the challenge blog for full details of how to play along and to enjoy some beautiful summery creations from the rest of the ladies.

Thanks for visiting- have a good day.

Birthdays at Crafty Calendar

My second DT card today is for the July Challenge at Crafty Calendar, the theme this month is
 Happy Birthday

Again, I've used one of Mo Manning wonderful images, this one is a Patreon image.
The card is for my lovely friend (and Marvin's 'baby sitter'), she has a gorgeous dog of her own, a handsome long-haired German Shepherd, whose soppy temperament belies his looks! His coat has an unusual reddish tint and I've tried to capture that with my markers and pencils. The patterned paper came with the image, the sentiment stamps are MFT and I've added some stamped embossed paw prints, they'll remind Helen of just how often she has to wash her floors when the weather is bad!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog- and please check out the Challenge for details of the prize and some great inspiration from the rest of the ladies.
Have a good weekend
Chris
