One Layer CAS at Fab'n' Funky

Good morning, a new challenge at Fab'n' Funky starts today, hosted this time by our lovely Buffy who has set a real challenge (for me anyway!) for this fortnight- she would like to see
ONE LAYER CAS
cards/projects.

I love one layer cards- but don't make them often enough as I do find it quite a challenge- never know when to stop! They are much more difficult to design than they look. Anyway, this is mine.  I masked a white card blank and stencilled the circle in the middle using a Lavinia stencil and two colours of Distress Ink.  Stamped the flower silhouette and sentiment (both Tom Holtz) using Versafine ink in Twilight as I wanted a softer look than black. That's it. I'm so happy as I didn't cover it with inky fingerprints which is what normally happens....

I'm looking forward to seeing the entries for this challenge so please join in if you can- if it's out of your comfort zone the why not give it a go anyway, you might surprise yourself, there's some fabulous inspiration over at Fab'n' Funky if you're stuck for ideas.

Thanks for visiting

Things with Wings at Sweet Stampin' Challenges

Good morning, it's time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin'- the theme for this fortnight is Things with Wings- so a nice easy challenge with lots of scope- all you need to do to join in is follow the theme and make sure there is some stamping included- digital stamps are allowed, as long as they're not pre-coloured.

I was lucky enough to win a prize from We Love Stamping Challenge a few weeks ago- and what a fabulous prize it was- a set of stamps called Follow Your Own Path from Aall & Create, this seemed a perfect time to have a play with them.

I smooshed some distress inks onto a piece of white stamping card then let loose with the stamps- plus a couple of background stamp I've had for years and never used. The large woodpecker is water coloured and  I've paper-pieced the 'this way up' arrows. I'm  happy with the way this card turned out, hope you like it too.

Thanks for visiting today, enjoy the rest of the weekend

Our fabulous sponsor for this challenge is the

To make my card I used  a sweet sponsor image, Ellie- so cute. I coloured her using Copic markers and a sparkle pen on her wings.  I added a die cut flower border and some little yellow flowers cut using the same die.

Bee Happy

It's been a beautiful week this week- blue skies and lovely warm sunshine, perfect for enjoying the garden- and where was I? Outside watching the birds busily to -and -froing as they feed their growing chicks? Happily reading in my favourite garden chair? Enjoying the flowers and doing a little light weeding?...Not a bit of it!! Hubby decided the decking needed replacing so lots of mess and noise and dust- the garden was not a nice place to be in. So craftroom it was, much quieter in here! Marvin kept me company for some of the time but spent more of it 'helping ' with the new decking- much more fun! Lots of new places to hide his ball and plenty of opportunity to help himself to unguarded tools and gloves!

I had plenty of time to do a bit of colouring, so a printed out a few older Mo Manning digis. I coloured this little cutie with my markers and made a circular card with it. The sweet little bees are a Lavinia stamp.

I'm hoping for some sunshine this weekend, the decking should be finished by Saturday, fingers crossed!

Imagine...

Good afternoon,  I recently gave in to temptation and bought some Brejanzart stamp sets (an ebay bargain). I love these fantastical imaginative images. When they arrived I sat and looked at them for ages realising I had no idea how I was going to use them. There are several stamps in each set, I've used just one of them here, together with a Lavinia swirl stamp and a sentiment stamp that I've no idea of the brand.
The background is a few shades of blue and purple distress inks, blended and stencilled. I stamped the main image and embossed with white embossing powder. I stamped the image again onto a white card using black Memento ink so I could colour with Copics. I coloured the parts of the image that I wanted and cut the rest away, adhered the coloured part in place over the white embossed image, I'm quite pleased with the effect. Plenty more stamps to play with so I need to put my thinking cap on.

Happy Day

Good morning, a quick post from me today to tell you about this week's challenge at
Our sponsor this time is

Mirtillamente Craft Shop

It's Ginny's turn to host and she's picked the lovely theme of Summer Time for the DT to use- as always the theme is optional, you can join in with anything you wish to make.

The team were given some cute and quirky images to use, I used Crazy Paw Seahorsez. I printed the image twice, once on white cardstock and once on a piece of blue dp that looked like water. I coloured the seaweed on the blue paper with markers then the white seahorsez ,which I fussy cut and stuck over the the uncoloured ones on the blue paper, adding a piece of gold glitter paper for sand. I die cut a square of the seahorse paper then cut a circular aperture and placed my image inside it.  I added googly eyes and some clear drops for bubbles.

Take a look at the challenge blog to see what the rest of the team have created using these fun images.
Join in with any craft you choose and you could be the lucky winner of some of these fabulous digis.

Have a happy day.

Special Birthdays at Fab'n' Funky

Good morning, this week is galloping past, it's already Wednesday - have no idea what happened to Monday and Tuesday. I'm spending a fair amount of time out in the garden, we're trying to catch up with all the things we didn't get done earlier in the spring when it did nothing but rain, at least the weather is lovely now!

My card today is for this fortnight's challenge at

Fab'n' Funky,

it's hosted by our lovely Pat who has chosen the theme of

SPECIAL BIRTHDAYS (special person, special age etc).

There are a few family 70th's looming on the horizon so I made a card for one of them. The 70 is computer generated and printed onto the DP then fussy cut. The stamp is one of my faves, it's from Art Impressions- I have a few of these 'oldies' and use them loads. The lovely lady is coloured up with Copics, paper-pieced dress and fussy cut. I've raised her up with foam pads to add a little dimension. The sentiment came with the stamp- I drew a speech bubble round it.

You'll find some wonderful inspiration from my lovely team over at Fab'n' Funky, then why not join in- after all we all have special people in our lives...and they all have birthdays!

Thanks for visiting, enjoy your day.

Watering time

Hello, it's been a busy week for me catching up after our holiday. A lot of time has been spent in the garden, weeding the flower beds and planting up the pots- of course I had a lot of 'help' from Marvin- persistently rolling his ball wherever I was weeding and then plonking it amongst the plants as I was trying to get them in the pots. At least (so far) he hasn't been biting the heads off the flowers so an improvement on last year!

My card today is my DT make for this week's challenge at Crafty Catz , hosted by Christine and sponsored by the fabulous All Dressed Up Stamps. The optional twist for anyone who wishes to use it is Add ribbon, lace or twine. I've coloured my image, Watering Time with my Copic markers, gave her some grass to stand on and a lightly stencilled sky. Die cut into  a tag shape and added a bow. The pretty papers I've had for years, no idea of make, added some die cut daisies with button centres. There's plenty of inspiration from my talented teamies over at Crafty Catz so do hop over for a look!

Thanks for visiting- I hope you enjoy your weekend whatever you plan to do.

Anything but square at Crafty Calendar

Good morning, our May challenge at Crafty Calendar begins today- the theme for this month is ANYTHING BUT SQUARE.  There is no sponsor this month as sadly they closed down but Sue has come up trumps with a very generous prize for our lucky winner

4 polymer stamps and a paper pad- all from Polkadoodles- I would enter myself if I could!

I made an easel card- a Christmas one! The stamp is Stamping Bella, coloured with markers, I sponged DI on the background and flicked with white ink for snow. Papers from stash, red ricrac trim, stamped and embossed sentiment and some die cut snowflakes.

I hope you find the time to take a look at the challenge blog- you'll find some wonderful inspiration from the rest of the girls, then why not join in- it could be you who wins the fabulous prize this month.

Perfect Sunday

Good morning, this week's challenge at Crafty Catz starts today, the optional twist chosen by our lovely Bridget is 'Masculine',  our fabulous sponsor for this challenge is

DR DIGI'S HOUSE OF STAMPS

I chose to use Perfect Sunday and coloured the image with Copic markers- this relaxed guy makes me think of my brother who really enjoys his cuppa! I have honestly never known anyone who drinks as much tea as he does!
Do take a look at what my teamies have created this week and then why not join in- doesn't have to be a masculine card - anything goes!

Things with wings at Fab'n' Funky

Good morning, it's time for a new challenge at Fab'n' Funky, my turn to host this fortnight - I chose the theme of Things with Wings, a chance to play with my lovely Lavinia stamps and stencils. As you can see it's a very simple design using the double stencil technique (apologies for the tipsy photo!) a fairy stamp and a sentiment. There's plenty more to see over at Fab'n' Funky - my lovely teamies have created some beautiful cards- as always.

We got back from our holiday yesterday- it was a very long day -up at 4 am to catch our flight so I'm still feeling a bit tired today, although it was lovely to sleep in my own bed. We had a wonderful time, visited some beautiful places - and enjoyed the sunshine (except for Monday, our last day when it rained most of the day!) We met some lovely people too- everyone on our tour was so friendly.

Marvin was very good for our sitter, which was a huge relief. She said her missed us and needed lots of cuddles- his cuddles are very enthusiastic and a bit rough but she didn't mind! He gave us a very enthusiastic welcome yesterday!!!

Thanks for visiting today
