Dancing fairies

Hello, it's Bank Holiday Monday and a chilly dreary day here- not raining but cloudy and grey, not at all tempting to be in the garden and we rarely go out anywhere at holiday weekends because of crowds and traffic- so craft room it is!

I made this card a couple of weeks ago-along with a few others.  I was playing around with stamps, inks and stencils hoping inspiration would strike! I rarely make one layer cards so was quite pleased with how this turned out. Distress inks, a Lavinia stamp and stencil and a stamped sentiment.

I hope you are enjoying your day- whatever you are up to!

Happy times

Well, hello... I'm back again with another sketch- inspired card, 2 cards in 2 days- a definite improvement.

The sketch I used was this one, from Creative Sketchy Girls- unfortunately the challenge has finished... but hey ho it's a great sketch!
My image is another of Mo's cuties- again I've had it for a long time, shamefully it's the first time I've coloured it! More papers from scrap stash, this time layered onto a stencilled cloudy background. A ribbon and bow and a tiny LOTV  stamped tag added with a brad... I'm quite pleased to be using some older stash.

A little update on Marvin... He's now 7 months old and getting quite a big boy! He doesn't really look like a puppy any more, but obviously he still is. Sometimes he is as good as gold, but can be a bit of a juvenile delinquent when the mood takes him!- he still has his klepto tendencies- anything belonging to me is fair game in his eyes! He loves to chew and tear although his adult gnashers are all through now- gleaming white, big and strong- fortunately he's stopped trying them out on people !!! Many of his toys have had major surgery- missing ears, tails and limbs are the norm.... some are sadly deceased. He doesn't chew furniture though and he hasn't eaten any walls, doors or skirting boards as a couple of our Danes were wont to do at his age, so there's hope for him yet. He's really friendly, full of fun and has boundless energy, loves to play fetch and romp with other dogs, it gives me great pleasure watching him run joyously across a field or through the woods. I'm looking forward to taking him on holiday with us next month and watching him play on the beach- he loves the water...any water!

Thanks for visiting today, enjoy your weekend whatever you have planned- although it looks as if we're in for a bit of a wet one in the UK ...

Cool specs!

Good morning...it is still morning- just! I've been struggling to motivate myself to craft lately- I've made my DT cards but not much else- and if I have managed to make something it's more often that not ended up in the bin ... so I decided to look for some sketches to use as a starting point and made this card.

The image is a very old one of Mo's , I bought it because it looked like  my eldest granddaughter - who is now 14 and very much a young lady! It's coloured with copics, glossy accents on her funky specs (Liv actually sported a very similar pair, she thought she looked super-cool - she'd be mortified now!!!) and on her lolly. If I  wanted to make it more realistic I would need to add red splodges all over her clothes....Papers are a random selection from stash, the added lolly is a stamp, coloured with copics, fussy cut and glossy accents added,  and a stamped sentiment to finish.

This is the sketch I used from Cheerful Sketches Challenge

Thanks for visiting today, hope you are all keeping safe and well.

Smile...

Good morning, it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin'- the theme is
 Feature an Animal.
I had every intention of creating something with my Lavinia stamps- I still have some unused ones from my birthday back in January...but somehow this happened!
The donkey stamp is part of a set from Whimsy Stamps- he just makes me laugh! Coloured with Copic markers and placed inside a die cut frame, papers are from Polkadoodles. The sentiment stamps are from an MFT set. I found the little nail heads in my stash the other day - there's loads of them so I thought I'd use some up!
There's loads more to see over at Sweet Stampin' where my lovely teamies have always produced some fabulous cards, do pop over and join us!
Have a great weekend

Crafty Calendar - August Challenge- Anything Goes

It's time for August's challenge over at Crafty Calendar, this month we're sponsored by All Dressed Up, so a lovely reason to colour up one of their adorable digis. I used the cute Dog Walker and out came my trusty Copics. I used kraft card as a base and for matting the layers , the papers are from Polkadoodles, I added die cut flowers and leaves, twine and a tiny stamped tag for the sentiment.

It's all a bit quiet in blogland just now, with many challenges having a summer break but I know many people will not going on holiday this year - so why not come over and join the fun at Crafty Calendar- you can create anything you like and be in with the chance of winning some of these sweet digis.

Thanks for stopping by- enjoy your weekend.

I can see the sea...

Good morning, this week's challenge at Fab 'n' Funky will be the last one before we break for the summer, the theme is 'I can see the sea' .. anything sea related will be great- under the sea, on the sea, beach, mermaids etc as long as we can see the sea!

I made this simple card a while ago, smooshed a little Distress oxide ink on the lower part of a white card panel, flicked some around with a fan brush and then stamped the lighthouse image on top. I used  my sadly neglected Zig Clean Colour pens to paint the image. I used my die cuts to create the simple frame and added a stamped sentiment.

Please hop over to Fab 'n' Funky to view the inspiration cards for this week- hope you find the time to play along.

Thanks for visiting
