Fa La La La Laa

Good morning, well here we are, Friday again and time for a new challenge at
this week we are sponsored by

it's Nana Connie's turn to host , her optional twist is
Any Critters with 4 legs.
I used a cute sponsor image, Tra La La, which I've coloured with markers, the background is sponged Distress Ink, wish I'd chosen a softer blue, but too late to change my mind!  The snow is white chunky embossing powder. I used a Dutch Doobadoo template to cut the card shape and a die to cut the aperture. I added some glittery die cuts and a stamped sentiment.

It seems very quiet in our house, we had our big girls to stay for a couple days, which was lovely as we don't see them so much now, their lives are too busy with school, homework, Saturday job, football, dancing, boyfriend, socialising with their friends...etc, which is just as it should be! I'm really missing them now they've gone to stay with their other grandparents - we do share nicely!! Marvin is missing his fun playmates too, they're very good at playing ball! I'm looking forward to the next school holidays!

Do hop over to Crafty Catz for some fabulous inspiration from the rest of the team, and remember, our challenges are always anything goes so hope you choose to play along this week.
Thanks for visiting,
enjoy your weekend.

It's Wally

Good morning, it's time for our weekly challenge over at Crafty Catz, this time we are sponsored by

BECCYS PLACE

Visit My Online Store

and the optional theme chosen by Janet is
LOTS OF LAYERS.
I was given this wonderful image to use (thanks Becky) his name is Wally and he's a part of this fabulous set, Snow Time.
This is one of those cards that just happened, not at all what I had in mind when I started out. I printed wally onto white cardstock and used a tag die to cut him out. it was a bit  too long to fit on my card base so I chopped it shorter and cut the fish tail bit. I coloured Wally and the sky with Copics, leaving the stars white and added some bakers twine. I cut another tag in red, making it slightly shorter and layered them together, placing a die cut circle frame between them. I added die cut snowflakes and stars, the sentiment is stamped.
I'm having a busy week as it was my beautiful daughter's birthday yesterday and it's her daughter, Ruby's birthday tomorrow, I'm finding it hard to believe that our little Rubes will be 14! She may be taller than me (by quite a bit!) but in my head she's still a little curly- headed moppet who loved to be cuddled (and still does!).
Thank you for visiting today, hope you have a good weekend.
It sounds as if we're in for quite a storm so I hope you all stay safe and dry.

I like both but looking through my stamps and digis there are far more snowmen than santas, so it's a snowman for me!

Make it feminine at Fab 'n' Funky

Hi, back again, this time it's with my DT make for this fortnight's challenge at Fab'n' Funky
Lovely N'Eva has chosen the theme of 'Make it Feminine' so I thought I would share the card I made for my granddaughter Ruby's 14th birthday, which is on Saturday- lucky girl, the first day of the 2 week school break!
I made her a tuxedo pop up card,  I've stamped her name, birthday sentiment and the numerals onto the same raspberry coloured cardstock of the card base, and embossed with white EP. The rabbit and balloons embossed onto white cardstock and coloured with Copics, stars and hearts die cut and coloured with markers to match the balloon colours. When Ruby was small she was totally obsessed with toy rabbits- the smaller (and harder to find when she left it somewhere !!!) the better! I can still hear the wail of 'I can't find my teeny tiny rabbit' to this day!!

Please do hop over to F'n'F to check out the lovely creations from my teamies, hope you choose to join in this fortnight.
Thanks for stopping by today

There's plenty of lovely creations from the rest of the DT over at the main challenge blog, just click here to enjoy them.

Stamping Sensations will be announcing some challenge changes so please be sure to check the new challenge post on 5th November.

Gingham or plaid at Sweet Stampin'

Good morning, a very quick post from me to tell you about our new challenge at Sweet Stampin' which starts today. This fortnight we would like to see some gingham or plaid (tartan) on your creations. I decided to make a Christmas card- my stash is woefully small this year, I can see a last minute panic looming ever nearer! This one was so quick to make that I' intend to make more of them. The DP was a scrap I found in my stash of Christmas papers, the die cut letters were a free with a magazine and the quirky reindeer is a Paper Artsy stamp, all I had to do was stick it together and quickly colour the reindeer.

I'm off to get my Covid jab later this morning, whoopee! Already had the flu one on Tuesday so all done until next year!

Don't forget to hop over to Sweet Stampin' for some fabulous inspiration from the rest of the team, hope you can find the time to play along, the more the merrier!

Thanks for visiting and have a lovely weekend.

Monochrome roses

Good morning, a definite feel of autumn here now- our lovely warm, dry spell has come to an end- yesterday it rained all day- still not cold though, just not warm enough to sit outside any more, I can promise you I made the most of it while it lasted, a real bonus in October.

Today see's the start of a new challenge at Crafty Catz, sponsored this week by

Prize - 2 images from store

Our lovely host this week is Ginny and her optional theme is MONOCHROME- one of my favourites!

The team were given some lovely sponsor images to use, I chose Roses
I printed the digi onto a scrap of DP that had a watercolour effect to it, then added shading with Copic markers.
I cut the image out and added it to the previously made background which is  distress inks blended onto white card, a little subtle stencilling using a chicken wire stencil and some stamped bookprint. I flicked some gold colour glimmer spray over the top of the completed panel, I've given up trying to unblock the spray nozzle so  I used a paintbrush to flick it on with!
Hop over to Crafty Catz to check out the inspiration from my lovely teamies, then why not join in and share a beautiful creation of your own- remember the theme is an option- anything goes at Crafty Catz.
Thanks for visiting, have a lovely day.

A bit batty!

Good morning, it's time for our October Challenge over at Crafty Calendar, we're sponsored this month by the fabulous Sheepski Designs and there is a theme to follow- Autumn Colours or Halloween. I went with the Halloween theme because I wanted to use this cute sponsor digi I was lucky enough to win some time ago, it's called 'Bit Batty', hence the title of the post- I was not referring to myself....

I printed the image and coloured it with markers, then masked off a large circle for the moon. I attempted to colour the moon and sky with markers and made a right old mess of it! So I started again using Distress inks, added a few whit splats for stars, I.was much happier with this and to save colouring the image again I cut out the original one and stuck it on top!

There's some lovely inspiration from the rest of the DT over at Crafty Calendar so head on over for a Halloween (or Autumn) treat.

Thanks for visiting

Happy Weekend.

Autumn Breeze

Good morning, it's my turn to host the anything goes challenge over at Crafty Catz this week,
I chose the twist of Autumn Colours for the DT to use.
Our lovely sponsor this time is
who generously gave the team this sweet image, Autumn Breeze, to play with.
As you're probably aware, Paper Shelter  digis
include a coloured version, an uncoloured line version and lovely backing papers with each stamp. I chose to use the uncoloured version as I do enjoy a little bit of colouring, and I used my trusty Copic markers for this.
As you can see I kept the design very simple, a little distress ink around the image, a couple of extra stamped leaves and a stamped sentiment. The DP is a very old piece I found in the scrap drawer, I added a button and thread bow to finish.

Please take a look at the challenge blog where you'll find some fabulous inspiration from the rest of the DT,
It would be great if you can find the time to join in this week-
remember the challenges are Anything Goes, the twist is optional.
Thanks for stopping by
I hope you have a lovely weekend

Colouring time

Good morning, it's time for a new challenge at Fab 'n' Funky. Our lovely host for this week is Pat K and she would like to see hand colouring on your project- any colouring medium you fancy!

I made this card earlier in the year for a lovely blogger friend and never got around to sharing it. I've use Copic Markers to colour the sweet image, one of Mo's lovely fairies. The wreath around the fairy is stamped using a mix of Lavinia and Card-io stamps.

For more inspiration from my lovely teamies, please hop over to Fab 'n ' Funky, then out with markers, pencils, water colours, or whatever you prefer to colour with, and join the fun!

Thanks for visiting

October has arrived..

Good morning, it's hard to believe that it's October we have been so lucky to have such beautiful warm weather for the last few weeks, a welcome Indian summer. I know that much of the UK hasn't been so fortunate, experiencing storms and a lot of heavy rain!.

As it's the first Sunday of the month there's a new challenge starting at Stamping Sensations, the theme this month is Autumn Colours. As always the theme is optional, anything goes as long as the focus of your project is stamping.

A made a card using a sweet Stamping Bella stamp, this one is special to me, as it was a gift from a lovely Blogger friend some years ago, thanks Wends

It's a very simple design, a scrap of DP, some stencilling around the image and a stamped tag tied on with cord. The sentiment is from same set as the image, which I've coloured with markers.

Thanks for visiting today, don't forget to check out the challenge blog to see what the rest of the team have created, there's such a great variety of inspiration for you to enjoy.

Have a happy week

Chris
