Anything goes at Tuesday Throwdown

It's the last Tuesday in August (how did that happen??!), which means this is my last GDT card for Tuesday Throwdown. I have had fun working with the lovely ladies on this fabulous challenge blog, thank you so much for inviting me! This week the challenge is everyone's favourite - 'anything goes' sponsored by Freckled Fawn, you can click here to check out their gorgeous stamps. I was delighted with this theme as it gave me a chance to use my new paper doll stamps and dies which I bought for an amazingly low price in a recent sale! The doll is quite large so I kept my design fairly simple, some strips of dp, an embossed panel and just added a few (ok, quite a lot) buttons to embellish it. The sentiment stamp is from Lawn Fawn.
I love using this stamp/die set.....so do my small granddaughters!
Thanks for visiting, hope you'll find time to call by Tuesday Throwdown Challenge blog to see the lovely creations from the DT, hopefully you'll be tempted to join in!
Have a great day

Dog days of summer!

Good morning....where did last week go??? The summer seems to be rushing by at a rate of knots! It actually feels more like early autumn in this corner of the UK! Hopefully, we'll get some more lovely warm days before autumn truly sets in!
Here's a card to remind you of hot summer days, it's my GDT card for this weeks challenge at Tuesday Throwdown, my third week already! The theme is 'Our Furry Little Friends' sponsored by Oak Pond Creations, who generously supplied this cute image for me to use. Well. it'll probably come as no surprise but I chose to paper piece it! I had a piece of DP that I bought about 10 years ago that was perfect for the sea, just added a touch of glitter glue for the sea foam. Added a little shading to the paper pieced dog...he looks as if he's having a lot of fun keeping himself cool! Some die cuts, 'water droplets' and a brad to finish. The sentiment stamp was a magazine freebie!

I thought I'd leave you with a recent photo of my lovely Mathilda.... she doesn't like the sea...she's frightened of how it 'comes to get her'!  She does love the beach though.........
and here she is with her favourite new toy.

Thanks for visiting, have a great day.

Anything goes with Delicious Doodles

As the title says it's Anything Goes for the new challenge at Delicious Doodles! As long as you use a Delicious Doodles image you can make anything you like! There are absolutely loads of these fantastic images to choose from, just click here to browse through them!
Well, I spent ages choosing but in the end I decided on Gothicka because I really really wanted to colour her, just look at her beautiful hair! I was going to make a bookmark... I've lost mine and am fed up looking at the tatty old piece of card I've been using... but this just kind of happened! I'm not quite sure what to call it... but it was such fun to make and it IS an 'anything goes' challenge! Perhaps it's an 'anything'...:)I have stamped, embossed, coloured, fussy cut, die cut, frantaged, used gilding flakes, added eyelets, skeleton leaves, chain, beads and wire....the butterfly is another DD image.

Thanks for visiting, I hope you like my 'anything' and I recommend a visit to the Challenge Blog to see the 'anythings' my lovely teamies have created.
Have a great weekend

Hello, it's Tuesday!

Time for a new challenge at Tuesday Throwdown ! I'm delighted to be guest designer for this lovely challenge blog for the month of August, and I would just like to say what a wonderful, supportive and friendly bunch these ladies are! It is great to be part of their team for a while!
Anyways, this week there is a sketch to follow:-
and I was given this cute owl image to play with, courtesy of this week's sponsor, My Grafico.  To me this cute image just cried out to be paper-pieced (no surprise there, then!) so I went to town with several different dps! His eyes are covered with glossy accents. The music die is Memory Box.
Thanks for looking, don't forget to check out the lovely ladies at Tuesday Throwdown and we'd love to have you join us this week.

DT call at Tiddly Inks

Good morning. Hope everyone is well and enjoying the weekend, whatever they may be doing! It's raining buckets here, at least the garden won't need watering today!!!
A few days ago I received an email from Christy of Tiddly Inks, with details of a DT call. I read the message and put it to the back of my mind thinking there would be so many applicants I wouldn't stand a chance! After all, who wouldn't want to design cards using these cute and fabulous images!!! (I was right, there are a lot of amazing entries for this Call!).
I kept thinking about it ...and hey ho! nothing ventured, nothing gained....so here's my entry
The image I have chosen to use is Grow a little love, featuring the adorable Wryn. This is the first Tiddly Inks image I ever bought and will always be a favourite! She's coloured with copics and her dress is paper pieced. I wanted to keep the focus on the image, so kept the design quite simple!
 Wish me luck!

PS In a spirit of generosity I will tell you that there a still a couple of days left if you want to enter this Design Team Call.

Photo inspiration at Sweet Stampin'

Happy Saturday! It's time to check out the new challenge at Sweet Stampin' - a fun one this week with a beautiful photo for inspiration (photo courtesy of lovely Judy). Below is my card - ok I know the photo is elegant and stylish and my card looks nothing like it but it does have a mauve bike, purple flowers and some paving!:)

the image is from Prairie Fairy, coloured with copics and then fussy cut, I printed it again onto the paving paper and then pieced the coloured image over the top, kind of a reverse paper -piecing, because I wanted the paving to appear through the spokes.  The birds are stamped onto the background paper, the clouds, trees and flowers arte all die cuts.

Our sponsor this week is The Hobby House with a generous £10 voucher.
Well, I'm sure that you're itching to get started making a card using this lovely photo as inspiration, but before you do why not hop over to Sweet Stampin' and see what the rest of the team have made!
Enjoy the weekend!

Have a n'ice' day!

Good evening! A late post for me today! I recently received this lovely freebie from Unky of The East Wind, thank you very much! It seemed ungrateful not to make a card with her, so here it is!
The challenge theme is 'beach', perfect for this cute girl! As you can see it's a very hot day so she thought she'd cool herself down with a very large ice cream and a paddle in the sea!
Thanks for calling by.
Have a lovely evening!

GDT Tuesday Throwdown

Good morning! I'm delighted to be here with my GDT card for Tuesday Throwdown, such an honour to be invited to work with such talented crafters! Thank you for inviting me!
The challenge this week is 'Mellow Yellow' - song of same title by Donavan (for those of you old enough to remember!!!:) is going round and round in my head!!!
The sponsor for this challenge is Robyn's Fetish and I was given the lovely Sunflower image to use. To make each flower I printed it twice, coloured it with copics, shaped it with a ball tool and layered the centre with silicone to add dimension. The cute little girl is also a Robyn's Fetish image that I was lucky enough to win some time ago (thanks!). The card is a very simple easel, papers from my stash, sentiment is a Paper Smooches die.
Thank you for visiting, now please check out this fabulous challenge blog to see the amazing creations the team have made to inspire you this week!
Have a lovely day!
