- my favourite way to add text is to stamp it, either directly onto the card or onto a tag or paper strip...why? because it's quick and easy!

Here's to laughing....

Good morning, our theme at Sweet Stampin' this week is 'Grandparent's Day', which I have to admit threw me at first- we don't celebrate it in the UK and even if we did I'M the grandparent...not gonna make myself a card... So after I finished sulking I decided to make a card with grannies on...I'm sure these 3 fun ladies are grannies! The fabulous image and sentiments are part of a set of clear stamps from Art Impressions (Live, Laugh Love). Coloured image with copics and paper pieced some of their clothes, old dp from stash and some tiny die cut buttons.
Why not hop over to Sweet Stampin'  for a look at what the rest of the DT have created...some great i interpretations of the theme! We'd love to see your interpretations too, so hope to have you play along this week!

September is almost here...

Sorry... but it's true! Only a few days to go and September will be upon us...back to school and looking towards autumn! I'm hoping that we have some good weather as we have a holiday booked in a couple of weeks, Devon in the rain with a large doggy is not a lot of fun!
Any way over Catch the Bug it's new release day and this week's 'September ' image is perfect for a calendar, so I made a little flip- over desk-top calendar.
The base of the calendar is made from recycled chip board (from packaging ) and covered with wood effect DP. I used my (rarely touched) Bind It All to attach the pages. The red gingham panel is there to stick the actual calendar on- when I can get one, was told they won't be in stock until the end of the month.
The September page features this week's new release, Kidz Sitter Girl Book and Book Stack
I have made a couple of other pages but it's still a work in progress!
Thanks for visiting
Enjoy the rest of August!

Feed the birds...

Good morning, I've had a busy,  but very enjoyable,  week with friends , family and granddaughters! A couple of lunches with friends, a day at a theme park with the 'big' girls (still recovering from that- they make no allowances for grannies!) and looking after the 'tinies' so Mummy and Daddy could have a bit of time for themselves. First time baby Charlotte has been left with anyone else but parents, she was so good, slept most of the time, as long as she's being cuddled she's happy! There were plenty of volunteers for a bit of baby cuddling as a lot of my friend popped in to see her .
In between I've had a little time to play so made this card just because I could! I coloured the beautiful Mo Manning image with my copics then I found the perfect DP in my stash. The tree and robin paper was a magazine freebie and I'm so pleased with how well it teams with the image. Just added a wooden snowflake and twine, the sentiment is stamped.
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend, we've had such lovely warm sunshine here in the UK, so unusual for a Bank Holiday weekend.

only a dog...

Good morning, hope no-one's been washed away this week! The weather here has been pretty dismal for August but by all accounts nowhere near as bad as in other parts of the UK., awful for the kids and for those on holiday, let's hope next week will bring an improvement.
This week at Sweet Stampin' we have a CAS theme -you love it or you hate it. I love the look of CAS cards but it's not something I'm good at! To make this one I stamped and masked the dog stamp ( I LOVE this stamp) stencilled  the background then coloured the dog with copics...had to be grey to look like Mathilda! I stamped the sentiment ( from same set of stamps by Picket Fence), trimmed around his snout and ears so I could pop the image behind the aperture with just his nose resting over the edge.
There's more to see over at Sweet Stampin', my lovely teamies have been busy creating some beautiful CAS cards to inspire you, hope you choose to join us this week.

I'll leave you with a picture of my beautiful big girlie...just like the stamp but with shorter untidier ears!

Thanks for visiting. have a great weekend

August Challenge at Sweet Stampin' Christmas

Good morning, our August challenge is up and running at Christmas at Sweet Stampin', quite scary to think that there are only 4 more challenges this year! This month our optional theme is Snow people.
I used a very old wood backed stamp and coloured with copics. then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment stamp across the bottom of the image and on the 2 layers beneath...try not to look at the wonky bits where it's not lined up properly...then added some die cut foliage and a scrap of twine.
Please hop over to CaSS and check out the beautiful cards from my teamies!
I'm off to lunch today, with my daughter, DIL and all 4 granddaughters- lovely!
Thanks for visiting
have a great day

Wings and things at Sweet Stampin'

Good morning, it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin' and the theme this week is 'things with wings'.
I wanted to make something a little different with my lovely Lavinia stamps, I tend to create scenes with them but thought I'd try something a bit more CAS for a change...here's the result!
I die cut the 'beautiful' twice, once from black cardstock and once from a piece of water colour paper that I'd 'Brusho-d' (one of several I'd made earlier...) and stuck the coloured pieces inside the black frame...just like doing a jigsaw puzzle. I stamped the three dancing fairies and the sentiment to finish.
As always there's some wonderful creations to inspire you over at
Sweet Stampin' so please hop over and take a look, we're hoping you like this fun theme and play along this week.
Thanks for visiting, hope you have good weekend...and don't get blown away by the storms!

Spot on!

I'm back again with my inspiration card for this week's challenge at Sweet Stampin', the theme this week is a lovely easy one...Spots and/or stripes. I used a cute stamp set from Polkadoodles- called Having a Giraffe.
I stamped the image and masked it before stamping my dotted background, then coloured with copics (usually I forget to do the masking and background stamping until after I colour the image...which isn't very bright-if the background goes wrong all the colouring is wasted...but I was having a good day and did it the right way round :)
IThe side strip is embossed with a Tim Holtz EF, it looks like stripes, and I couldn't resist colouring up the other giraffe stamp from the setand have him peeking round the edge.
The sentiment stamp is part of the set too!

I
There's more to see over at Sweet Stampin', please hop over and take a look, we'd love to have you play along this week so come and join the fun.
Enjoy your weekend.

Anything Goes at Crafty Calendar

Good morning, it's time for our August Challenge at Crafty Calendar, sponsored this month by

A DAY FOR DAISIES

The theme for this month is 'Anything Goes'.

I was given a beautiful image to use, the sweet little Mouse Daisy, I used my copics to colour her, matted her onto my shaped card base and added a few punched daisies and a tiny stamped tag. My stash of thank you card has been depleted recently so trying to make a few, always handy to have a few ready!

Thanks for visiting, I'll be back in a bit with my Sweet stampin' card.

Hello Sailor

Oldies But Goodies!
Good morning, today's card is featuring an older image from Bugaboo, this little cutie is called
As usual I've coloured with copics, the background is embossed, very old papers (magazine freebies years ago, the wave flourish is cut from the papers too and glossied up. The sentiment and tiny shells are from the same stamp set (Marianne Design).
I followed the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday

I'm looking forward to enjoying some granddaughter time this afternoon, my DIL is visiting with the tinies, so lots of lovely cuddles I hope!
