I'll drink to that!

I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful Christmas break! Yesterday was a fabulous day for me...spent with my husband, children and granddaughters (not forgetting Mathilda of course....she made sure she wasn't forgotten, she loves presents and wrapping paper...anyone's present will do!)
Just popping in today with my DT card for this week's challenge at Sweet Stampin'...theme 'food and drink'....think I've had enough of both to last for a while now!
Our sponsor this week is Flat Friends Boutique, we'd be delighted if you played along.
Enjoy the festivities!

Last minute card... and DT call at Fab 'n' Funky

I wasn't intending to make any more Christmas cards this year, but needed a couple of extras....time is short, life is busy so I opted for the CAS route! This card took literally 10 minutes to make :) I printed this beautiful angel with the background black. I love the way she looks uncoloured so I simply added a tiny bit of shading with a v pale grey copic, some glitter to her hair with a sparkly gel pen and covered her wings with Wink of Stella, wish you could see the lovely sparkle in the photo! I then die cut the stars and 'noel' from the background, stuck on 4 tiny gems and mounted the whole thing onto a piece of white glitter card! So quick, I think it's taken me longer to write this post!
I hope everyone is enjoying the run-up to Christmas and not getting too stressed....maybe we should take a leaf from Mathilda's book on how to approach the festivities.....

Bless her, she looks so peaceful and comfy on my newly cleaned and polished cream sofa....that brown fleece is just not big enough to cover all of it!

Before I go I'd just like to tell you that there's a DT call at FAB 'N' FUNKY, just click HERE if you're interested in joining our very friendly team!

Thanks for calling by!

Christmas presents

Good morning! Here I am  with my last DT make for 2015! The theme for  this week's  challenge at Sweet Stampin' is 'Christmas Presents' sponsored by The Ribbon Girl. I took the opportunity to ink up this adorable Tiny Townie stamp which I just happened to acquire recently (shopping again!).I coloured her with my trusty copics and paper pieced the parcels, loads of stickles on her hat. The papers are Shabby Christmas from Joy Crafts. I coloured the ribbon with copics too, despite having a huge amount of ribbon, I didn't have anything that matched (why does that happen so often ???!) Some die cuts and a gem, a scrap of lace and stamped sentiment to finish.
Thanks for taking the time to look, I know how busy everyone is at the moment! If you have a few more minutes to spare please pop over to Sweet Stampin' by clicking here, There are some fabulous cards from my so-talented teamies and of course we'd be delighted to share your Christmas Presents too!
Have a great weekend, try to take some time for yourselves apart from all the Christmas rushing about!

Snowflakes

Hi, I'm back again with my second card today, this time it's for the last challenge of 2015 at Fab N Funky, it's Wendy's turn to host this week and she's picked the theme of 'snowflakes' - brilliant theme for this time of year! We're sponsored this week by the fabulous Bugaboo Stamps this week, and the DT were each allowed to choose one of their images to play with. Eventually ( there are so many wonderful images to choose from) I chose to use Scene it -Snowman Fun featuring these cute and happy snowmen. The beauty of this cute image is that it takes very little colouring, and printed at the right size, very little else to make a Christmas card! So a quick and easy make, perfect for someone who is desperately trying to finish making her Christmas cards! I was pleased with how it turned out -so I made three! (the same...but different!)

We're hoping you will be inspired to join in with our last challenge before the Christmas break, just click here  to be transported to the Challenge Blog, there are some wonderful creations from my talented teamies to inspire you....then it's your turn!
Thanks for visiting today!

Festive fairy!

Good morning, my first card today is for our new challenge at Creative Moments, the last one this year, and what could be a more appropriate theme than 'traditional Christmas'! In our family it's traditional to have a fairy perched on top of our tree....so here's Phyllis! she's on her way to take pride of place on the treetop, scattering golden stars and festive wishes as she flies! You can find this dainty charmer here at Dr Digi's House of Stamps. Phyllis has been coloured with copics and her dress is paper pieced, gold stickles on her wings. She's fussy-cut and placed on a starry embossed background, a few of the stars coloured with a gold metallic pen. The sentiment die cuts are Tim Holtz.
We'd love for you to join in with our final challenge for this year...there are fab prizes to be won from our two generous sponsors this time Dr Digi and A & T Digital Designs (Emerald Faeries) and as always the theme is optional. Just click here to view the DT makes and to add your own lovely creation. Thanks for calling by...I'll be back!

Christmas sweater!

I came across this cute and quirky image the other day and just had to buy it! It's so perfect for my son's lovely fiancee, who is obsessed with Christmas sweaters, she's desperate to make the whole family wear them over Christmas but is meeting with a lot of resistance, particularly from the menfolk! The image is from Bloobel Stamps, there are some fabulous images on this site, just click here to have a look. I used my copics for colouring and a sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday, a quick and easy card to make!

Thanks for stopping by.

December Challenge at Crafty Calendar....Let it snow!

It's time for our December Challenge at Crafty Calendar and I hope we're not tempting fate with this one...'Let it Snow!' It's lovely to look at (when it's fresh fallen and sparkly- not when it's turned to dirty slush and hard packed ice!) but for me the novelty soon wears off! I do have a lovely memory from 2 years ago though when I looked out at my neighbour's little lad ...the delight on his face was a picture and I could hear him singing right down the road....and he was on his way to school! We only had about an inch of snow too!
Anyway, back to the challenge. We have 2 fabulous sponsors
                                                                  Di's Digistamps
  Easier to use NEW WEBSITE

          and Fabrika Fantasy

-about Fabrika Fantasy:
We are a small creative team writing and illustrating fantasy adventure and children's books. We love to draw fun and amusing characters, and are happy to offer them to you as digital stamps. We hope you like these digital images and they help make your creations bright, interesting and memorable!

The DT were given some sweet images to play with, I chose to use the Young Deer image which comes in colour or outline. The coloured version is gorgeous but was too bright for the card I wanted to make so  I printed the outline version onto kraft and coloured it with polychromos for a softer look. I fussy cut him and placed him on a 'snowbank' in front of the aperture which is part filled with diecut silver birches.

I added a lovely MB holly and pine branch  cut from glitter card.

The DT have made some beautiful cards to inspire you this month , just click here to take a look, and of course we're all looking forward to see what you make of this challenge, so don't miss the chance to join us for the last time this year!

A little of what you fancy....

Good morning...The Southern Girls are back with a great new challenge ....'a little of what you fancy.' .. basically you can do what you like best to your creation! Me, I love to colour, so I was delighted to choose this beautiful image from one of our lovely sponsors this week Lemon Shortbread and colour her with my copics. I knew straight away that I wanted to make an 'art nouveau' style card as she has the look of one of Mucha's ladies! Once coloured, I masked the image to create the stamped background n the inner circle, then cut around the edge of her hair to let it spill over the double circle frame. I didn't have quite the right swirly die to fit the corners so compromised by using part of a larger die cut...not quite symmetrical, but never mind! The black background is embossed, but you can't see it! Wink of Stella added to her headband (you can't see that either! I added a few tiny gems, and some larger black ones to the frame, the sentiment is computer generated.
They say that great minds think alike...imagine my surprise when  I saw that Alethea and Wendy had both chosen the same image as I did...we had the whole store to chose from!!!...not only that but we all gave her a blue dress! Their cards are stunning, just click on their names to take a look at what they did with this image!
We'd love to have you join us at Southern Girls this fortnight, so why add 'a little of what you fancy' to your creation and share it with us, there are some lovely prizes on offer from Lemon Shortbread and A Random Fan, so if you'd like to win some gorgeous digis for your collection now's your chance!
Thanks for visiting, hope you have good day!

Happy Birthday Sweet Stampin'!

Good morning! Over at Sweet Stampin' we're celebrating our 6th Birthday, if you listen carefully you'll hear the sounds of  cheering and corks popping...we'll try not to be too noisy but I think it may get a bit raucous later on! It's a great team to be on and I'm so proud to be part of it!
To celebrate there will be extra prizes this week as well as the lovely prize from our sponsor CraftsULove so even more reason to join in this week!
The theme for this challenge is 'Sparkle and shine' -a really great one for this time of year! I chose to make a Christmas card  and to keep it CAS as I still have loads to make! I used a Penny Black die to cut 3 trees from glitter card and 3 from a lovely shiny dp, and just pieced them together. A glittery frame and stamped and embossed sentiment - job done!
Thanks for visiting today and I do hope that you'll join us for our birthday celebrations this week...just click here to join the party!

Be Merry!

Last Wednesday of the month....that means it's time for a Christmas Challenge at Fab 'n' Funky and this week it's my turn to host. our sponsor for this is the  fabulous Kenny K

The DT were given some brilliant images to use, I chose to use these fun and festive  Reindeer, -all the hard work is over for another year, and they're out celebrating! I coloured these handsome guys with my copics, then just cut around their hooves so I could slide my strips of DP underneath, added a brad, a length of bakers twine and matted onto several layers of card/dp.
We'd really love to have you join us at Fab N Funky this week, and unless you're one of the few amazingly industrious and organised crafters who already have their cards finished (not naming any names here but you know who you are!!!) you'll be glad of the incentive to create a festive card! Birthday butterfly

Good morning, time for a new challenge at Creative Moments, the optional theme this time is 'Bling it up' ...perfect for brightening up these dull dark November days! Our sponsors for this fortnight are

                                                               Art by Miran

and

Although I still have loads of Christmas cards to make, I thought I'd have a little break and make a birthday card for this challenge, I was given a cute butterfly digi from My Stitch Back In Twine, which I printed, coloured the body and hearts, and fussy cut. I added stickles and gems then covered the wings in Wink of Stella, which of course doesn't show in the photo! You'll just have to take my word for it that they're lovely and sparkly!

I die cut several circles from bright pink cardstock and attached them to my hand cut fishtails using a bow and black sparkly brad. The sentiment is a Paper Smooches stamp. I added a few tiny gems to the flower centres of the backing DP.
We hope you'll join us at Creative Moments this fortnight, remember we're an 'anything goes' challenge - the theme is optional!

A dark and gloomy November afternoon....

It's raining, it's dark and gloomy outside, so what better way of spending the afternoon than playing in my nice warm craft room? This is the first card I've made for ages that wasn't for a DT. I used a really sweet image from The East Wind called Holly and Olive. I printed her twice so I could add extra layers and dimension to her headdress. She's coloured with copics, a touch of red stickles for the berries. I die cut the image then added a touch of green distress ink and a sprinkling of Frantage to the edges. The background is composed of embossed white rectangles, matted onto dark green, a couple MB die cuts and a stamped greeting.
I apologise for the photo...very poor light today!
I'm now sitting here smiling because I've just noticed it's time for the school run ....and it's not my turn to pick the granddaughters up today :)!!!

Wrap up warm!

Good morning, welcome to the weekend and our new challenge at Sweet Stampin'. Our theme this week is 'wrap up warm'  -good advice in the UK this time of year! It has been very mild here, so far but definitely noticed more of a nip in the air the last couple of days.
I decided to make another Christmas card as the date is creeping (galloping??!) closer and closer. My image is a sweet digi from The Paper Shelter, which I coloured with copics and fussy cut. The tree die is Sizzix and the foliage die MB. Not sure about the poinsettia.
There's some great inspiration to be had from visiting Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog, my talented teamies have come up trumps as always and there's a lovely prize on offer from our lovely sponsor this week Bunny Zoe's Crafts, so just click here to have a look!

Birthday princess

Good morning, it's time for a new challenge at Creative Moments, as always 'anything goes' and the optional theme this fortnight is 'winter birthdays'.
We're sponsored this time by the fabulous Stitchy Bear, who generously allowed the DT to choose their own image. As soon as I saw this beautiful Ice Princess, I knew she would be perfect for my young niece's birthday card. The card l/o is fairly simple, a shaker card (this time the sequins and bling actually move when I shake it....won't mention how much glitter fell out though...)  I coloured her with copics and glitter pens, then covered her dress and headdress with loads of Wink of Stella, which you can just about see in the photo below! I wanted the whole card to have a sparkly shimmery look, after all that is what most little girls love!
Thanks for visiting, it'd be lovely if you find the time to create something and join the fun  at Creative Moments this fortnight!

I chose to use Saturday Night Steven,  this image really makes me laugh as my brother actually sported this hairstyle back in the day! If anything his was even bigger and curlier!
I used copics to colour my groovy image, and paper pieced his jacket. The letters are stamped and cut out.

Sparkle, bling and embellish at Crafty Calendar!

Happy Saturday! Hope you have some fun things planned for the weekend, I must admit I'm hoping the fireworks stop after tonight, Mathilda is really fed up with them now! At least she's not like Maisie (our previous beloved Great Dane, who was absolutely petrified) and I don't have to sit under the table with our heads covered with a blanket cuddling  a very large and trembling dog!  There's a brand new challenge starting today at Crafty Calendar , the fabulous theme is 'sparkle, bling and embellish', there's a fantastic prize on offer too from our lovely sponsor this month, Brenda's Lace and Ribbon Specials -here's the link to her Facebook Shop:-https://www.facebook.com/groups/572264729563452/?fref=ts

who wouldn't want to win this gorgeous goody bag???!!!

I made a centre step card using a really cute Mo digi. I coloured her with copics, loads of glitter on her hat! I just added some die cuts embellished with tiny gems, and a stamped sentiment.

Thanks for visiting, do pop over to Crafty Calendar to see the beautiful creations from my very talented teamies! Then dig out the glitter and bling and get creating! We'd love to see what you make too!

Southern Girls stick together...through thick and thin!

Good morning,  here we are in November, winter will soon be upon us but we have enjoyed the loveliest Autumn here in the SE, mild and sunny, the trees looked amazing but getting quite bare now!
There's a new challenge starting today over at Southern Girls ,  we're wanting to see your creations using ribbon, twine or tape, our sponsor for this is the fabulous

The DT were allowed to choose a digi stamp to play with, I chose to use the beautiful Key to my heart. I used copics to colour her with a touch of white gel pen in her hair. The key is suspended from a short length of glittery twine. The backing card is embossed using a Tim Holtz EF. I added white ribbon, 2 red roses and a die cut.

Thanks for visiting, hope you have a lovely day, and for those who celebrate 5th November with fireworks, enjoy them and stay safe!

Die cut birdie

Good morning, happy Saturday and happy Halloween for those who celebrate it! As you can see, my card today has nothing to do with Halloween except I did 'treat ' myself to the Bird Crazy stamps and dies on a recent trip to a craft shop! I have been trying to resist ....but failed miserably ....again!
Our challenge at Sweet Stampin' this week is to use dies and/or punches on your project (and of course some stamping somewhere!). I used loads of dies to make this, the robin is stamped onto kraft, a bit of colour added with my pencils and then die cut using the matching die....so quick, so easy! His hat is stamped, coloured , glittered, cut out and stuck on . The sentiment is a Tim Holtz sizzix die. Ribbon and brad from stash.
We're hoping that you'll join us at   Sweet Stampin'  this week, there's a lovely prize on offer from our fab sponsor Live and Love Crafts and some wonderful inspiration to be enjoyed from my talented teamies! Just click here to take a look!

Little angels!

Hi, I'm back again already with my card for the new challenge at Creative Moments. We're sponsored by the fabulous Rick St Dennis and the theme is 'anything goes'. After much deliberation and changing of mind I picked this cute image to use, best-frenemies, available here. I used copics to colour and paper pieced their dresses (surprise!). They're mounted onto a simple step card and embellished with various die cuts and a few gems. Sorry about poor quality of photo, light not at all good when I took it the die cuts are gold and white IRL but look a bit green in the photo, ah well, you get the idea!

Merry mouse!

Good evening....it's been a glorious day here in this corner of England, warm and very sunny, went for a walk to enjoy the amazing autumn colours and take advantage of the weather....such a bonus this time of year!
I made this little card yesterday using the sketch from LIM. I'm starting to panic now that Christmas is drawing closer and I'm realising how many Christmas cards I haven't made, so CAS seems a sensible option!
The little mousie is coloured with copics and die cut with a stitched circle die, mounted onto a snippet of red card. I cut an aperture from my card blank and stuck the dp inside the card. The red border around the aperture is drawn on with a copic, the fine red border drawn with a fineliner. The sentiment is from a set of Woodware stamps. Really quick to do..., nice and flat to post...will make some more like this!

Busy week...

Good afternoon, a quick post from me at the end of a busy fun-filled week! Haven't had time for crafting at all - 2 birthdays...daughter and granddaughter, 2 dental appointments ...a lot of fun there...NOT!...,opticians, Mum sitting, a day looking after baby Emily because her other Grandma had a suspected broken leg...fortunately a sprain, not a break (but still very painful!). However did I have time to go to work???!
This is the card I made for my daughter. I bought the cute Mo Manning image ages ago with my daughter in mind, this so reminds me of her and my two older granddaughters, they love to do girly things together!
Hope everyone is having a lovely restful weekend!

Totally Wicked!

Good morning! There's a fabulous new challenge starting at Sweet Stampin' today, one I know that everyone will enjoy....it's to 'use an old stamp'.
There's been a lot of discussion over 'old' stamps amongst the Sweeties...and I'm sure, like us that you have stamps stashed away that haven't seen the light of day for some time....years even! I have to admit that I have no self control when it comes to stamps, I buy new 'must haves' even though I've got loads (some unused, shamefully). Anyway, I really enjoyed sorting through my 'oldies' and rediscovered this quirky cutie! I did use her loads of times when I bought her (before the days I started blogging!) and I loved colouring her again. She's a Moonlight Whispers (Krafting Kimmy) stamp, I don't think she's available any longer(shame!.) I stamped her on kraft paper and used my pencils to colour her, then mounted her so she looks as if she's stepping out from the frame....creepy! I added some die cut cobwebs  to my simple LO. The sentiment is computer generated.
Now I know you're going to enjoy rooting through all those long neglected stamps, so I'm looking forward to seeing lots of fabulous entries this week!! If you're stuck for inspiration there's plenty to be seen from my lovely teamies by clicking here. If you need any further incentive to play along the prize this week is none other than a Sweet Stampin' Goodie Bag! Yay!!!

Festive celebrations!

Good morning, two cards from me today...this one is for our new challenge at Creative Moments, this fortnight our optional theme is 'Spots or stripes' and we're sponsored by the fabulous Bugaboo Stamps, I love these digis -there's something for everyone here! I used one of my favourites to make this card JJ Christmas Cheers available here, she's such a fun girl, really knows how to enjoy herself! I used copics to colour my image adding just a tad of glossy accents to her wine glass and the spilled (tut!) wine. The papers were mainly freebies from a magazine. Phew, another card for the Christmas box...can't believe how rapidly it's approaching!
Will be back later with the second card!

Celebrations!

The theme this fortnight at Southern Girls is 'Celebrations'...something with lots of scope for everyone! Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings , new baby....to name but a few! My card is a simple birthday card featuring a pretty image courtesy of Art by Miran one of our lovely sponsors for this challenge. I  kept the design fairly simple, layering my coloured -with- copics- and- fussy- cut image on top of the dp and adding a piece of twine to her balloon.
The Southern Girls would love to see you play along this fortnight, and there are some lovely prizes on offer from Art by Miran  and Lacy Sunshine so why not pop over and join the fun!
Have a lovely day

Bewitched

Good morning...err afternoon, where did those hours go??? O/H was away over the weekend, so in between walking and feeding Mathilda and visits from the granddaughters, I had a bit of a colouring fest! Here's one of the cards I made using 2 fantastic images from The East Wind. I've been looking forward to colouring the main image, which I was lucky enough to win in a previous challenge, for some time...I knew that amazing hair would take some time to do...I was right...but I like the way it turned out! I used a mix of copics and polychromos.
I printed her head-dress twice so that I could cut out the rose and add a scrap of tulle and a feather underneath it. I embossed the 'frame' with a swirly e.f. and added some aged silver frantage, some green seed beads and some glittery die cuts.
The second image is this months freebie, who could resist a gorgeous baby dragon? He's coloured with copics too with a touch of gold mica to his wings and spines (doesn't show in the photo but it's lovely and shimmery)

I really enjoyed creating this hope, you like it!
Thanks for visiting
have a good week.

Boo!

Back again with my project for this month's challenge at Crafty Calendar! The theme this month is 'Halloween', and I decided to make something other than a card....so I made a coffin! It's made from card and painted black, nailheads all around the edges of the lid (wouldn't want anything to get out ) and a little wooden ghostie on top.

But wait...the lid opens and out jumps this terrible scary Drac Lewis...hope no one has nightmares!!
He's attached to the base of the coffin with a black paper 'spring', so when the lid is lifted he pops up, I think it will amuse the granddaughters! (Especially when I fill the 'coffin' with sweeties!)
There are some gorgeous spooky creations from the rest of the DT to be enjoyed by visiting the challenge blog, and the prize this month is a $12 voucher from our lovely sponsor Di's Digis, so what are you waiting for  ...get cracking on those Halloween makes!
Thanks for visiting today

Wheels!

Good morning! My first card today is for this week's challenge at Sweet Stampin' , the theme of which is 'wheels'. I used a fantastic image from Kenny K, which I've had for ages and never used before...I have to say I loved colouring this! The design is quite simple, I cut a hole in the dp, then snipped into the edges of it and folded back the 'points' allowing the image to 'burst through! The rosette and sentiment are cut from dp too!
I have to say I'm impressed with the variety of cards from team Jacky this week....they all follow the theme of wheels but everyone seems to have such a different take on it...but don't take my word for it, pop over here and have a look for yourself!!! We'd love to see what you make of this challenge too, so why not play along....you could be the lucky winner of the much coveted Sweet Stampin' Goodie Bag!
Thanks for looking, happy weekend!
