Last minute Christmas at Fab'n' Funky

Good morning! Brrr, another chilly one here! Fed up with the ice and snow now, just want it to go away! The novelty wore off extremely quickly especially now that it's so dangerous and slippery outside, lovely and warm in here though- I'm having the heating on, I'll just whinge about it later when we get the bill!
Marvin was a bit bemused by the snow at first, not at all sure what to make of the cold white stuff in his garden. He looked really funny hopping around, trying not to leave his feet in it for too long, soon got used to it though and had a lot of fun playing with equally excited dogs in our local woods. Yesterday he took his precious ball out in the garden and spent ages burying it under the snow and then raking it back up again! Then he decided to lie down in the snow, staring at his ball -willing it to move- so I made him come indoors!
First experience of snow- not quite sure- but tail is wagging!

Snow is not up to his chest- he's lying down -crazy dog!

Today sees the start of our last challenge this year over at Fab'n' Funky,

the theme is Last Minute Christmas.

For me it's always tags I need at the last minute- every year I say I'll start them earlier...and every year I don't, so, of necessity, they need to be fairly quick to make! I found an old pack of kraft tags I'd forgotten about, stamped and embossed the sentiments then drew and cut out some simple red 'hats'. They looked a bit plain so I made a kind of stencil and spread my home-made texture paste through it (paste made with baby powder, whit paint and glue- smells lovely!) Stuck on the wobbly eyes and a red Crystal Drop nose, a tiny pompom for his hat. added red bakers twine. Finished with white faux stitches and die cut snowflakes. Took me longer than I planned to make but I do like them!

My lovely team have made some super projects if you're stuck for inspiration for those last minute makes so please hop over here to enjoy them- hope to see you join in with your own fabulous creations.

Thanks for visiting

Last Minute Christmas at Crafty Catz

Good morning, hope everyone is keeping well and staying warm, this cold weather is a bit of a shock to say the least. It was so mild up to a few days ago and now we're waking up to heavy frost- that stays around all day- and they're even mentioning the 's' word! Haven't had any snow to speak of here for a few years now, I'm wondering what Marvin will make of it if we get a snowfall- he was excited enough about the frost, was running round the garden like a wild thing and it took ages to calm him down.

This week is our last challenge for the year at Crafty Catz, Aunty Sue is hosting and has picked the optional theme of 'Last Minute Christmas'.

We are sponsored for this challenge by the fabulous Dr Digi.

I made a card using the brilliant Stuck Santa image, coloured with Copic markers. The sentiment is computer generated, I've added die cut icicles and glitter, and some fluffy stuff to the fur trim on Santa's hat and coat.

Check out the Challenge Blog to see the fabulous cards my teamies have made using these fun sponsor digis, then why not join in - you can share your last minute Christmas makes- or anything else you wish.

Thanks for visiting, have a lovely weekend- keep safe and warm.

Happiness is...

Good morning, I've two cards to share today- this one is for our December Challenge at
which is sponsored by Lawn Fawn, the theme is anything goes.

This is the card I made for my youngest granddaughter, she doesn't really know what snow is, bless her! But I'm sure she'll be as excited as the other 3 girls if we get some this year!

The sentiment and image are both from Mo Manning- I just love the wonky snowman! I've coloured with Copics and flicked white ink for snow.

It would be lovely to have you join in with us for the last challenge this year- just click here to hop over to the challenge blog, check out the fabulous cards from my teamies and add your own lovely creation.

Thanks for stopping by- I'll be back later today with another DT make.

Penguin Huddle

Good morning, well December has arrived, and the countdown has really begun now! I went shopping yesterday- normal grocery shopping and couldn't believe how the shops have suddenly got so busy! It was difficult to find a parking space- which I hate- I'm not exactly the best 'parker' in the world and of necessity a bit picky when it comes to narrow spaces! It'll get worse before it gets better - the shops I mean, not my parking (I hope!!)

Today's card is for our new challenge at Crafty Catz, Rhoda is hosting and has picked the optional twist of 'Make an easel card ' Our lovely sponsor for this week is

SheepSkiDesigns

Visit Our Shop

I made a slimline easel. the base is silver crackle card which has a lovely icy look, which is perfect with my cute penguins and snowy scene. The penguins are coloured with Copic markers, The background sky is distress inks. I've added a die cut sentiment and snowflake border.

For more inspiration hop over to Crafty Catz to see what my lovely teamies have created with these lovely sponsor images.
