The theme this fortnight at Southern Girls is 'Celebrations'...something with lots of scope for everyone! Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings , new name but a few! My card is a simple birthday card featuring a pretty image courtesy of Art by Miran one of our lovely sponsors for this challenge. I  kept the design fairly simple, layering my coloured -with- copics- and- fussy- cut image on top of the dp and adding a piece of twine to her balloon.
The Southern Girls would love to see you play along this fortnight, and there are some lovely prizes on offer from Art by Miran  and Lacy Sunshine so why not pop over and join the fun!
Have a lovely day

Good morning...err afternoon, where did those hours go??? O/H was away over the weekend, so in between walking and feeding Mathilda and visits from the granddaughters, I had a bit of a colouring fest! Here's one of the cards I made using 2 fantastic images from The East Wind. I've been looking forward to colouring the main image, which I was lucky enough to win in a previous challenge, for some time...I knew that amazing hair would take some time to do...I was right...but I like the way it turned out! I used a mix of copics and polychromos.
I printed her head-dress twice so that I could cut out the rose and add a scrap of tulle and a feather underneath it. I embossed the 'frame' with a swirly e.f. and added some aged silver frantage, some green seed beads and some glittery die cuts.
The second image is this months freebie, who could resist a gorgeous baby dragon? He's coloured with copics too with a touch of gold mica to his wings and spines (doesn't show in the photo but it's lovely and shimmery)

I really enjoyed creating this hope, you like it!
Thanks for visiting
have a good week.

Back again with my project for this month's challenge at Crafty Calendar! The theme this month is 'Halloween', and I decided to make something other than a I made a coffin! It's made from card and painted black, nailheads all around the edges of the lid (wouldn't want anything to get out ) and a little wooden ghostie on top.

But wait...the lid opens and out jumps this terrible scary Drac Lewis...hope no one has nightmares!!
He's attached to the base of the coffin with a black paper 'spring', so when the lid is lifted he pops up, I think it will amuse the granddaughters! (Especially when I fill the 'coffin' with sweeties!)
There are some gorgeous spooky creations from the rest of the DT to be enjoyed by visiting the challenge blog, and the prize this month is a $12 voucher from our lovely sponsor Di's Digis, so what are you waiting for  ...get cracking on those Halloween makes!
Thanks for visiting today

Good morning! My first card today is for this week's challenge at Sweet Stampin' , the theme of which is 'wheels'. I used a fantastic image from Kenny K, which I've had for ages and never used before...I have to say I loved colouring this! The design is quite simple, I cut a hole in the dp, then snipped into the edges of it and folded back the 'points' allowing the image to 'burst through! The rosette and sentiment are cut from dp too!
I have to say I'm impressed with the variety of cards from team Jacky this week....they all follow the theme of wheels but everyone seems to have such a different take on it...but don't take my word for it, pop over here and have a look for yourself!!! We'd love to see what you make of this challenge too, so why not play could be the lucky winner of the much coveted Sweet Stampin' Goodie Bag!
Thanks for looking, happy weekend!

Bring it on!!!

It's the last Wednesday of the month that means it's time for our monthly Christmas Challenge at Fab N Funky! As tomorrow it will be October that date is drawing closer and closer....need I say more??? If you haven't already made all of your cards, written and addressed and stamped them (snigger) now's your time to get started!!!

This week our challenge is hosted by our lovely Judith and there's a lovely prize to be won from our generous sponsor

I used a recently purchased stamp from Whipper Snapper to make my card, I couldn't resist this exuberant little chap! He's coloured with copics, fussy cut and placed on an embossed snowbank, the frame is also embossed with snowflakes. The sentiment is part of the stamp. Quick and easy, but it makes me smile!

I hope you'll be tempted to join us this week, why not pop over to Fab N Funky now to see what my lovely teamies have created and then get started on  your own festive makes (unless you've already finished them of course....)
Thanks for stopping by
Have a lovely day

Little Birdie

Good morning! I'm here with my card for our new challenge at Creative Moments...'anything goes or Autumn colours'. I used a cute image,  Little Birdie, courtesy of this challenge's  lovely sponsor Deedee's Digis. I used the pre-coloured version as I loved the colours, definitely said 'Autumn ' to me :) I printed the little birdie twice so that I could cut out his beak (youchie!) and the sunflower to add a bit of dimension. I then cropped the image to print just  the sunflower in various sizes, which I fussy cut and added seed beads to the centres. Papers, ribbon,  twine and decorative corner from stash. The sentiment was one of several that came with the image.
There's some great inspiration to be seen from my lovely teamies by clicking here.
We'd love to have you play along this fortnight....remember anything goes!
Thanks for visiting, I'll be back soon!

Better late than never!

Helloooo! Just back from a lovely, lazy 2 week holiday in beautiful North Yorkshire- idyllic 'cottage' on the edge of a picturesque village- 5 minutes walk from local hostelry ...and very 'dog friendly', so not a lot of 'self catering' to spoil a great fortnight!!! Mathilda is worn out from all the admiration and adulation she received...just wish people wouldn't think they were being funny and original saying 'you should put a saddle on him'....gets a bit wearing after a while...anyway she's a girlie!!!! The weather was kind to us...much more sunshine than rain... and we met a lot of really friendly and helpful people who gave us loads of tips on where to go and what to do.
My card is a tad late for our latest challenge at Sweet Stampin' which went live yesterday but there's still plenty of time for you to join in ..the theme this week is 'embossing'. I used a really cute Stamping Bella Tiny Townie stamp which I've colored with copics and Wink of Stella pens. Loads of different embossing folders used on the patchwork background which has been made up of small stitched edge die cuts.

Our sponsor for this week is is the fabulous Flat Friends so there's a lovely prize awaiting our lucky winner! Why not pop over to Sweet Stampin' now to check out the inspiration from my lovely teamies? We'd love to see what you make of this challenge too....just remember to use a stamp somewhere as well as the embossing!
Got to rush off now...will be back later to catch up on what you've all been up to while I've been away!!!
Have a lovely day!
