Just dance!

Good afternoon! Just a quick post to share this card with you! Just got back from being dragged around the woods by the Marauder, who is still growing rapidly, but learning to behave herself a lot more slowly! She walks really nicely on the lead until she sees something interesting-another dog, a person, a squirrel, a bird, a leaf, a blade of grass, a shadow...!!!-then it's a different story! Still it's puppy training class this evening and I'm hoping that something will sink in!

These photos were taken 1 week ago,  she is now very leggy, but still cute!

Anyway, back to the card, image is by Mo Manning (there's a surprise!) Papers were free with a magazine, just added some ribbon, flowers and a tag. The sketch is by Sketch Saturday.
That's all fom me now, have a good evening!

Ribbons

Yay! It's Saturday! That means it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin' This week the challenge is 'ribbon', which gives you plenty of scope so I hope that you'll be tempted to join in! We're sponsored this week by The Ribbon Girl and Crafty Ribbons, there are prizes to be won so don't miss out!
My card is a fairly simple design using this adorable image from Mo Manning! Papers are from my stash, absolutely no idea who they're by, I just wanted something bright and cheerful!
Have a great weekend!

Poppies

I am lucky enough to be blessed with not one, but two gorgeous sisters (well that's what they tell me anyway!!). Unfotunately, due to very bad planning (!!) their birthdays fall on consecutive days, which makes February a very expensive month! Also it means making 4 cards, 2 from me and 2 from my lovely Mum, who used to be a very keen cardmaker herself until her hands got so bad with the terrible arthritis she suffers from. She much prefers handmade cards (obviously!) so I usually try to make them for her! As we have a very large family and she has loads of grandchildren and great grandchildren it keeps me busy!
Anyway, this card is for her to give - I hope she's happy with it! The beautiful image is from A Day For Daisies, the birdcage, cute little birds and ivy die are all Marianne.
Thanks for looking!

Something to sing about!

Good morning everyone! Hope you're not snowed in wherever you are! There's quite a lot of the white , cold, wet stuff here at the moment but I'm not even sulking! I'm so happy to be posting my first DT card for the amazing Songbird Challenge blog! The challenge this fortnight is "Baby Mine" sponsored byDi's Digis. There are prizes to be won and you certainly won't want to miss the amazing cards the rest of the DT have made, so hop on over and take a look!
This is a really timely challenge for me as one of my best friends is about to become a grandparent for the first time! The baby is now overdue and we're all on tenterhooks! I've made two cards as we don't yet know if it's a boy or a girl (so exciting!!) The beautiful digital images are by Funky Kits, I think they look amazing just as they are, without any colouring!
This is the inside of the girl card.

The boy card

As you can see I've left this image uncoloured! I've kept the design of these cards fairly simple as I wanted the focus to be the lovely images.
Hurry up baby!
Thanks for calling by, have a great day

Friendship...

....needs no words.... hmmmm, not quite sure if that applies to my friends... we never stop talking! It's often quite difficult to get a word in edgeways (note to self: shut up and listen more!). Seriously ,though, sometimes a hug says it all! When I saw this week's LIM  challenge theme "Friends",  I immediately thought of  this gorgeous stamp! It's by Paperbag studios, I love it and it's great to give it an airing!(It's spent a long time in the drawer!) The background is coloured with pan pastels (my brand new toy, a Christmas present from my lovely daughter!) - it looks much better IRL-stamped on top then mounted.
Hope everyone is safe and warm on this miserable cold Saturday.
Thanks for looking!

Happy days

Back again, two posts in one day, certainly doesn't happen very often! I have had a very happy day today, spent the morning with a lovely friend who I haven't seen since well before Christmas. We spent quite a lot of just chatting, there was a lot to catch up with! We did, however, take Mathilda for a walk around the woods, which took longer than expected as there were lots of doggie friends to greet! She is one friendly puppy! (if a little rough!!! -her manners still leave a lot to be desired! She doesn't quite understand that most dogs don't really enjoy being biffed around the head with a giant muddy paw!)

After her walk she was feeling a little tired so she thought she'd sit on the sofa and watch a spot of tv....
Anyway, back to the card, this weeks challenge at LIM is to make a one layer card with the theme of sport or exercise.  This is my offering! The stamp is by Little Claire, a bit of masking and distress ink and added a touch of glossy accents. Job done! (as my son would say!)
No snow here ...yet!

Do my feet look big in these?

It's Saturday! It's the weekend!-and time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin'! This week we want to see gingham on your projects. There are prizes to be won from our lovely sponsors, Stamp and Create andThe Ribbon Girl.
My card is made from various die cut (and hand cut) circles- didn't have big enough dies for all of them! The stamp is an old one by 'Love you to bits'- don't you  just love her huge feet!?- coloured with copics, and I've paper pieced her dress and hat. I was so pleased when the card actually stood up straight, I thought the flowers would tip it to one side and make it look wonky!
Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Thank you kindly

Hi everyone! Great news, Southern Girls challenge is back after the holiday break! Even better news- we have an amazing list of sponsors for this year, they are generously offering some lovely prizes - you really won't want to miss out, so hop on over and join the fun! This fortnight's challenge is titled 'Thank you kindly' - really easy challenge and I'm sure a thankyou card would come in useful right now!
Our sponsors this fortnight are  Marianne Design ,
My card was made using the lovely Pansy Fairy image from a Day for Daisies and a beautiful Marianne butterfly die.
The rest of the DT have obviously benefitted from their rest as they have excelled themselves this time and made some absolutely gorgeous creations, to check out their work click here.
So pleased you stopped by!
Have a great day!

...a fresh start...

Yesterday, I worked my last Saturday in the library! I don't officially leave for another 2/3 weeks but I'm using up annual leave! I thought I'd be really sad, but  although I will miss my lovely colleagues and work friends, I was more than happy to walk out of that door! The job has definitely not been the same for some time because of all the spending cuts, and believe me, things are going to get a lot worse! 'Better for Less' is the slogan used, whilst decimating the service, - I can see the 'less' but I sure can't see the 'better'.
Anyway, that's in the past, a new year, a fresh start, hopefully with more time to spend on the important things, family, friends, puppy, and of course more time to play! I have every intention of making the most of my retirement!!!
On to today's card. This weeks challenge at Less is More is black and white with a tiny hint of another colour. The possibilities are endless! My card is very simple, a single stamp inked all in black apart from the butterfly, which I masked and inked with blue distress ink, stamped once and mounted on black card and then onto the whit base card. 3 tiny gems added, and that's it!
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a lovely evening.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2013! Hope no-one is suffering too much from the celebrations last night, and if anyone is feeling "a little tired" today, I hope it was worth it!
Here is the card I made inspired by the challenge at Less is More - "Drinks". The image is by Bugaboo and it really makes me smile! This girl sure knows how to party! Methinks she may be feeling a bit jaded this morning!
Enjoy the rest of the holiday!
