Hi There!

Good afternoon, hope you're all enjoying what's left of the weekend. This is my card for this weeks
challenge over at Less is More . The challenge this week is 'paper piercing', something I haven't tried before , apart from piercing the paper for faux stitching. Well, I do like a challenge so I thought I'd give it a go! I don't know if it's just me but it's not as easy as I thought! You need a really steady hand or it goes all wobbly, and even more frustrating, if you pierce the holes too closely together (guess who did?) then the paper rips and you have a much bigger hole than you intended!! Anyway, this is how it ended up! Don't think I'll be in a hurry to try this technique again!
Thanks for looking!

For a very special lady..

Good morning! It's Saturday once more and time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin'. This week the challenge is 'Mothers Day or Special Lady'. Well, you couldn't get a more special lady than my Mum so this card is for her!
To make the card I stamped the butterfly (sorry, don't know who stamps are made by!) twice onto cream paper and once onto acetate. I then blinged up the flourish on the main image. The gorgeous swirly flourish is from hobbycutz, triple embossed with black embossing powder. I added a few flowers and a bit more bling. The label is hand written.
Our sponsors this week are Hobbycutz and The Ribbon Girl, with some very generous prizes, so pop on over to Sweet Stampin' , check out the gorgeous creations my teamies have made and why not share something you have made for your 'special lady'!
Have a great weekend!

Now we are six!

Good morning, fellow bloggers! Hope you're all fit and well and ready to tackle a new week! It's time for a new challenge at Songbirds , where every fortnight a new challenge is set based upon the title of a song, this time the title is Sixteen going on  Seventeen and we want to see some numbers on your cards! Our sponsor this week is Joanna Sheen, with a fabulous prize to be won!
I've made this card for my grandaughter, who is soon- to- be- six (going on seventeen!!!). I can't believe she's nearly six already, where has that little baby gone! She's grown into a beautiful little person, both inside and out, and I am so proud of her! The Mo Manning image I have used really reminds me of Olivia, she's always writing and drawing - definitely a creative child!
Inside the card I have printed the words to Now I am Six, by AA Milne, it just seemed appropriate!
Hope she likes it as her taste usually runs to pink and pretty, like most of the little girls I know!
Thanks for looking!
Have a good week.

Lucky me!

Hello, my friends, Hope you are all well and happy! I have been a very lucky bunny recently, not only did I win the fabulous prize of 6 digis from the LCI bloghop (yay!) I have also been picked to be part of the design team for a brand new challenge blog!! (double yay!!). The new challenge blog is hobbycutzchallenges, and the challenges will be starting very soon! So pop over and visit the blog,  you don't want to miss out! You might also be interested in visiting the shop, these lasercuts are stunning, very versatile and very reasonably priced!
Back to the card, I just had to play with the gorgeous digis I won from LCI! The timing was perfect as it's both of my sisters' birthdays next week and they both love shoes! (told you I was lucky!). This card is for Barb, who would adore to be able to wear a pair of shoes like this! There was a time when she could (and did!!!) but unfortunately she now suffers really badly with arthritis (she has had this since childhood- a truly horrible disease) but she can still dream! The image is coloured with copics and spica at you glitter pens, a little bling added. The papers are from a pad by Crea Motions. The poppy die is Memory box. Well I've waffled on for long enough, thank you for bearing with me, I'll just leave you with a recent photo, or two, of my beautiful Mathilda, who is now 5 months old.

Check out the very stylish new collar!

A quick note...

Happy Sunday everyone! Just a quick post with the card I made for this week's LIM challenge- One layer card, music. The stamps I used are from Darkroom Door, the musical note mask is from Tando. Very simple card, but I qite like it! Must go now, want to finish my very scary book in daylight! I was reading until quite late last night, terrified myself, and was scared to turn out the light! I don't know why I do it - I'm certainly old enough to know better!!!! On that note (!) I'll finish!
Have a lovely Sunday!

Pearl and swirls at Sweet Stampin'

Good morning! It's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin' ! This week the theme is " Pearls and Swirls" and we are sponsored by The Ribbongirl and BunnyZoe
I immediately thought of mermaids, pearls, shells sea... get it! and I thought this would be easy .. but nothing looked right, several attempts found their way into the bin! I eventually made this card, using a stamp that I bought a couple of years ago (in a sale!) from Sweet Pea Stamps. I have never used her before, but she is lovely to colour!. Papers are K&Co. Swirly diecuts are Memory Box.
Please pop over to Sweet Stampin' to check out what the rest of the DT have made - I promise you won't be disappointed!
Have a great weekend!

Hopelessly devoted to you

Good morning, it's Monday, the start of a fresh new week- month, even! It's time for a new challenge from Songbirds. The challenges all have song titles and this time it's 'Hopelessly devoted to you'. The obvious interpretation, given the time of year,  is a Valentine card. Well, I don't really 'do' Valentine - I'm probably a bit old fashioned (pedantic??) and boring, but to me, the whole point of it is, that it is from a  secret admirer, not a husband, wife or partner! Perhaps I'm just old fahioned (or old, as my daughter would say!!!). Ok, I can see it's nice to tell a long-term partner that you love him/her, but I still think that's not really what it's all about! We're all entitled to our own opinions!!
My card could be a Valentine card, but it could equally well be used as an anniversary or even birthday card for a loved one! (I do make my OH birthday and anniversary cards, I'm not totally heartless!). The image is a favourite old PSX stamp of mine (I love these teds!) paper-pieced  and mounted onto a die cut heart. Random papers from my stash, Tim Holtz flourish, a ribbon, mulberry rose, a couple of gems and a touch of stickles.
Anyway, enough of me wittering on! Why not pop over to Songbirds and check out the gorgeous creations from the rest of the DT, who knows, you could be tempted to join in and win the prize donated by our generous sponsors 'Bearly Mine Designs' .
Have a good week!

Happy birhday LIM!

Less is More  is 2 years old today!  This is one of my favourite challenge blogs,  I always enjoy a visit, get loads of inspiration and try to join in as often as I can! This weeks challenge is to use nothing but Kraft and Kreme, so I don't know if the pearls are too much (it's always sooo tempting to add something .....!). The butterfly is a Marianne die and the sentiment stamp is from The Artistic Stamper.
Hope I get away with the pearls!!!
Have a good day
