Challenge #3 at Hobbycutz

Good morning and Happy Easter! A quick post from me as I have a busy day ahead - cooking lunch for my children, their partners and the grandchildren! Not to mention organising the now obligatory egg hunt for aforementioned small grandaughters!
The new challenge at Hobbycutz is a simple one -CAS to be exact! There is an optional sketch, courtesy of one of my teamies Kathy K to follow if you want to.

Here is my card
as you can see, it's pretty simple and self -explanatory, but I'm quite pleased with the result. I really like the added dimension from the lovely lasercut hearts! These are great to use, so versatile, you can ink, stamp, paint, glitter, distress them ettc., but I used them just as they came as it's a CAS challenge.
This fortnight we are sponsored by
and
with this lovely prize
So without further ado I'll leave you now so that you can pop over to the challenge blog to admire my teamies' fabulous creations!
Have a great day and a lovely Easter break!

Gorgeous girl!

Good afternoon! Hope everyone is keeping warm on this freezing cold spring day! I thought I would share some photos of my Gorgeous Girl, Mathilda. She is now six and a half months old, getting to be a very big girlie! It's not easy taking photos of her while she's awake as she desperately wants my camera! I had to resort to bribery (any food will do!) to get these!  That dead looking yellow thing behind her is Dirty Duck, one of her favourite toys, he is still intact (at the moment!). Most of her toys are currently awaiting major surgery to reinsert thei gizzards and have their wounds stitched up (again)! Not the easiest of tasks as Mathilda tends to try and grab them whilst I am performing these delicate operations!
As you can see she is stunningly beautiful (in my unbiased opinion). Some of the time she is good! She is always very affectionate (it can be a bit painful sometimes!!) and extemely friendly....

Oh, yeah, I have made a card too....

I treated myself to a couple of the new Gorjuss stamps at the weekend,( no self control) and had time for a little play yesterday. I kept the card quite simple because I really just wanted to play with the stamps!
Thanks for looking!

Lots of layers ...

Good morning! I think the title of this post is very apt... we all need to wear lots of layers here in the UK at the moment- it might officialy be spring but it's bloomin' freezin '!!  The challenge this week at Sweet Stampin' is to use lots of layers on your project, a lovely challenge leaving you with lots of scope!
Because I think it should be spring, I chose to make a spring-like card, with pretty colours and butterflies, flowers and a bunny, oh well, it cheered me up anyway!
Now would be a good time to pop over to the challenge blog to see what my teamies have made! It won't make it any warmer here but it might tempt you to join in - you could be lucky and win a prize from one of our lovely sponsers The Ribbon Girl or My Mums Craft Shop.
Thanks for visiting, have a lovely weekend (whatever the weather!)

Star of the show!

Good morning! Monday again, start of a new week and it's a new challenge at Songbirds! The song title this week is "Oh What a Circus" from Evita - to me this song will always be David Essex, no matter who else performs it! -we would like to see your circus themed cards. Our sponsor this week is the fabulous mayzyart and we were allowed to choose an image to play with, I picked this fabulous liontamer together with her majestic lion! Such fun to colour!!
The card is a stepper card, I made a circus tent as a backdrop, coloured the image with copics and added glossy accents to her boots (doesn't show in photo!) cut it out and mounted it in front of the tent. I then diecut various sizes of stars and added them to the front 'step'!
Pop over to the Songbird Challenges blog now to admire what the rest of the DT have created, you
won't want to miss this one!

Aloysius in the frame!

Good evening! Second post today, it's all or nothing with me! I started to make this card yesterday but was interrupted by the arrival of my gorgeous grandaughters who were 'sleeping over' at mine! There certainly isn't time to craft when they're around! - well that's not entirely true  - they love to craft, but as they're aged 3 and not-quite-6  they still need quite a bit of help. We made decorated egg princesses! I should have taken photos! By the time I'd cleared up the (considerable!) mess, fed them, bathed them, cleaned the bath crayons off the tiles,  read stories , given them their 'midnight feast' (well 8pm feast) brushed their teeth, read more stories, I was shattered! This morning I was greeted with " Oh, Nanny the numbers on your clock are six dot three three, what time is that?" and two small girls clambered into my bed...
Anyhow, back to the card, quick and simple using the gorgeous Aloysius from Indigo Blu, embossed panel matted onto kraft. Frame also diecut from kraft.
That's all from me, going to collapse in  front of the tv now!
Have a lovely evening

Easter boxes

Good morning! I hope you're enjoying the weekend! It's time for a new challenge at Hobbycutz this time the challenge is 'Easter'. I chose to make a box in the shape of a hat, which I constructed from card and covered with design paper than decorated with ribbon, flowers and these lovely lasercut butterflies from hobbycutz.co.uk. , which I painted and covered in glitter. First I made this one
I have two grandaughters so then I made this one!
Then I filled them with little chocolate eggs. I think they'll be pleased!
You really don't want to miss the amazing projects my team mates have produced so pop over to hobbycutzchallenges now and check out their fabulous creations! Hopefully, you will be inspired to make something for Easter and join in the fun!
Have a lovely Sunday!

It's a man thing at Sweet Stampin'

Good morning and happy Saturday! It's time for the new challenge at Sweet Stampin' and this week the theme is 'it's a man thing' and we would like to see your masculine makes! I always find it harder to make cards for the men in my life (which is a shame as I have 5 brothers and countless nephews as well as a husband, son and son-in -law!). I have to say I really enjoyed making this card, another project with lots of stamping, distressing, inking and masking not to mention embossing  and heat embossing on the diecuts! I was having so much fun I just didn't want to stop! Card is a bit busy....a case of 'more is more'...:))
Why not pop across to the challenge blog and see what my lovely teamies have made. Hopefully you'll be inspired to make your own card, and enter the challenge, which is sponsored this week by The Ribbon Girl and Cuddlybuddly with some generous prizes to be won!
Thanks for visiting!
Have a lovely weekend!

Just smile!

Good morning! Thursday already - and time for a new challenge over at Southern Girls. This fortnight the challenge is Tag it! Here's my tag and I have had such fun making it! Our sponsors this week are amazing, Iva Nova Chest , Marianne Design and Stampotique!!! We were lucky enough to be able to choose some stamps to play with from Stampotique (yay!) and after a long and happy browse I chose 'Smile'(#6078) and 'beauty verse' (#3056), believe me it wasn't easy to decide as there are so many and such a huge variety. Anyway, this is my tag,
and it's little envelope-                                front view

back view
I hand cut the tag from a piece of plain card and used a template that I bought years ago to make the little pouch to put it in. I then masked and stamped using various colours of distress ink. The letters and rosette were  cut using Tim Holtz strip dies.  The corner die is Marianne.  I just loved making this!
To see what the rest of the team have created pop over to Southen Girls Challenge, and why not make tag yourself, if you have half the fun I did you won't be disappointed, and you could win a lovely prize!
Thanks for visiting my blog and thank you so much for all the lovely comments you have left for me!Have a lovely day!

Hobbycutz Blog Hop

I

Hi and Welcome to the Launch of

The HOBBYCUTZ CHALLENGE BLOG...

This will a bi-weekly challenge and Kobie and the rest of the Design Team hope you will enjoy the creative projects we will showcase , and that we will inspire you all to come and take part in our challenges.

Please take a couple of minutes to read Kobie's  Story:
I am Kobie and I am the Owner and Designer of Hobbycutz Lasercutting & Designs.
I grew up in a Crafty family, with a very creative Gran, Mum and even Dad...he was always into woodworking....
I acquired a laser cutter early December last year after having my second child, which made it nearly impossible to return to work because of expensive child care, so I had to look for something I can do from home.
It was the biggest learning curve of my life and never really realised what I was getting myself into until the machine arrived.
But anyway not going to bore you with the rest, I am here and we will have to see what the future holds.....

So to celebrate the launch of this new adventure we are having a blog hop and you have 2 weeks to join in the fun and try and win some prizes.

So I hope you arrived here from
Valou's blog

If not please go back to the Hobbycutz challenge blog and start the Hop there as You need to collect a letter from each member.

The rules of the hop are as follows:

1. Leave a comment on each of the DT posts as you hop, this is a must to qualify for the prize.

2. Collect the letters from the DT's blog and email Kobie at
hobbycutz(at sign)gmail.com with the word they spell ( ps they are mixed up and not everyone has one)

3. Leave a comment on the Challenge blog letting us know which design from my website you like best

4. Display our badge in your side bar to spread the word.

The winner of the hop will receive a £10 Voucher to spend on my website and two runner ups will receive each a £5.00 voucher to spend on my website.

Not only can you do the hop and win a prize .. but we also have First Challenge running which is

ANYTHING GOES

The prize for the overall challenge which will be picked by the Random thingy will be
a £10 Voucher to spend on my website, and I will also give away a £5.00 Voucher every challenge for a Random winner using a 'HOBBYCUTZ' product.

That's the exciting news from Kobie, and here is my first DT project for Hobbycutz challenge blog,

a card for my ' baby' sister, who would seriously love these shoes and bag! The image is one I was lucky enough to win from Ladybugs Crafts Inc.,  the flower was made using a Tim Holtz die. The beautiful flower flourish is a lasercut from Hobbycutz. Now these lasecuts are a joy to use. They look pretty amazing 'naked', just as they come but they are so versatile, you can paint them, ink them, stamp them, emboss them...etc. As they are so sturdy, wood, not paper they can take quite a bit of  'treatment'!! Great for me as I'm a bit heavy handed sometimes! Anyway, this has been distress inked and embossed to give it a bit of shine.
Thank You for taking time to visit my blog.  I don't have a letter for you to collect so please hop on now to .....

Natali's blog

Hope you enjoy the hop and good luck!
