We're having a ball at Sweet Stampin'!

Happy Saturday sweeties! My card for this weeks challenge at Sweet Stampin' was inspired by all the beautiful summer weather we've been enjoying (well some of us have enjoyed it!!!). The theme for this weeks challenge is' Balls', - which can be interpreted in a number of ways.....As you can see I chose a beach ball to go with this fabulous Mo Manning image! Gloria certainly knows how to enjoy life! She is coloured with copics and mounted onto various 'beachy' papers. The beach ball is paper pieced and so are the cute little bucket and spade and beach signpost! I had a ball making this card!
Pop over to the Sweet Stampin challenge blog to see how the rest of the team have interpreted this challenge, hopefully you'll be inspired to join us this week, we'd love to see your interpretations too! We are sponsored by My Mums Craft Shop and the Ribbongirl, so don't miss out on the chance to have some fun and maybe win some fabulous prizes!
Thanks for visiting and have a lovely weekend!

Animal antics at Southern Girls!

Good morning. This week is just flying by... Thursday already and time for challenge #74 at Southern Girls Challenge, "Animal Antics", we would like to see an animal somewhere on your project - so easy, huh? We have two lovely sponsors this time, The Paper Shelter and MilkCoffee, both these companies have the most beautiful digi stamps, and here is your chance to win some!
My card is made using the cute image 'Jurassic Love' from The Paper Shelter, this image comes as an outline or ready coloured if you want to save some time! I chose to use the outline as these images are fabulous to colour, so coloured using copics, diecut and matted onto a frame. A ribbon, a tag attached with a glittery brad a few diecuts and a touch of stickles to the hearts- job done!
Please take a look at the challenge blog to check out the fabulous inspiration from my talented teamies, we'd love it if you joined us this challenge!
Thanks for taking the time to look!

Favourite things...

Good morning! The new challenge at Songbird Challenges is one that everyone will enjoy, 'Favourite things', simply to make a card using your favourite things and let us know what they are! We  are sponsored  this week by the amazing Mayzy of MayzyArt, who generously allowed us to choose one of her gorgeous images (it took me AGES to choose!!!)
The favourite things I used were my copics, the papers, I have hoarded these Far East papers for years, they are beautiful and have a lovely texture, and 2 of my favourite memory box dies.
So what are you waiting for? Get out your favourite things and have fun making something gorgeous!
Thanks for calling by!

It's summer at Hobbycutz!

Good morning! I nearly forgot this one! I've got my dates mixed up and I thought the challenge was next week! I think the sunshine has addled my brain (forgetful at the best of times!) Anyway, here's my card for this weeks challenge at Hobbycutz, which is 'Summer'! (Very topical, or in this heatwave, tropical:)! The lovely and very talented Kim has set this challenge and I strongly recommend you visit her blog for some wonderful inspiration! We have two sponsors for this challenge- Digistamps 4 Joy and Limited Runs, both these companies have some lovely images, so you might want to visit them too! There is also the usual prize from Kobie, for a lucky person using a Hobbycutz product.
I am enjoying the beautiful sunshine we've been having, and I'm certainly not complaining as we've waited far too long for a decent summer, but the heat does make me lazy so I've kept my card design very simple! The image is 'Watercan' from Limited Runs (thankyou!) coloured with copics , cut out and curled slightly to give it dimension (doesn't show in the photo!). The swirly corner bow is a Memory Box diecut and the beautiful little butterfly is a Hobbycutz lasercut.
Thanks for looking!
Have a good day!

I made a card...

....just for fun! It's been a while since I've had time to just play, but today I have had some time to spare, it's not been warm enough to sit in the garden, I've finished  reading my book, and not started the next one yet so I made this card! The cute image is from Tiddly Inks, it was great fun to colour (all that hair took a long time!!!), the papers are 'Quilting Bee' from MME (thanks, Gail).
Thanks for looking and have a lovely weekend!

a bit shabby

Good morning! And what a beautiful morning it is!! The sun is shining and it's really warm already, oh I DO love the summer! Mathilda, my Great Dane, 10 months old now, absolutely adores the sun, she's outside now, lying full stretch on the decking...catching some rays! She's not silly though, when she gets too warm she'll come indoors to cool off, just as well, they don't make sunscreen for dogs yet!
Back to business, todays card is for this weeks challenge at Sweet Stampin', the theme for this week is 'Shabby Chic',  Our sponsor this week is,Bunny Zoe and we also have a monthly sponsor,
My card is made using a beautiful (free) digi, which I found here, there are some gorgeous images on this site!. I coloured the image with copics, and 'aged' the edges and background with distress ink. Papers are from my stash, again distressed and inked. I added some flowers a ribbon and a metal flower, lace, doily, brads, (no kitchen sink).... the little banner is hand written. I made this for my Mum to give to her sister, Mum was really pleased with it, I hope my aunt will be too!
Don't forget to pop over to  Sweet Stampin' to have a look at the rest of the teams fabulous cards, hopefully you'll be inspired to join us this week!
I'm off now to join Mathilda in the garden, to spend some quality time with a deranged serial killer (I do love a good read!)
Thanks for calling by
Have a great weekend!

It's summer at last!

Good morning fellow bloggers! Doesn't it make you feel better when the sun shines! It's been a fabulous few days here...and  ANDY WON!!!!Yay!!! According to the weather forecast we are in for a good long spell of warmth and sunshine, hope they're right!
It's time for a new challenge at Songbird Challenges. This is a really easy on... the song is Ribbon by Mariah Carey, and all we are asking for is that you use ribbon somewhere on your card, easy peasy!
My card was made using an image from SK digis who are generously sponsoring us this fortnight.
The papers are Papermania I treated myself to these whilst on holiday- doesn't count as spending on craft stash if you do it on holiday, does it!!?
Well that's all from me, have a good day and enjoy the sunshine if you're lucky enough to have any!

Dream a little dream...

Good morning! I'm fresh back from holiday having enjoyed a lovely relaxing week in a beautiful cottage in Somerset. Sunshine, beautiful countryside, too much food, my dog and good friends-who could ask for more?!
I'm looking forward to an afternoon glued to the TV, not usually my idea of a Sunday afternoon's entertainment but it's the Wimbledon finals and I'm rooting for Andy!!  Should be a great match , whoever wins!
Anyway, back to business and it's time for a new challenge at Hobbycutz. I can't believe that we've reached our 10th challenge already! The theme this time is 'Fantasy', set by our extremely talented Cathy, you can check out her blog here. We are sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs, who gave us some fabulous images to play with. I chose the lovely Bella Bride, isn't she beautiful? I coloured her, very simply, with copics cut her out and mounted her onto an embossed circle, edged with lace, which in turn is mounted onto an embossed circular card. The lovely wooden lasercut swirls and trellis are, of course, from Hobbycutz, you can buy them from here
Please take time to pop over to Hobbycutz Challenges, check out the lovely creations my teamies have made. Hopefully you'll be tempted to join us and share one of your own lovely projects. Incidentally, there is a DT call at present as we are reaching the end of our first term so you could be doubly tempted!
However you choose to spend the rest of today - I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for stopping by
Chris
