a little bird told me...

Good morning! It's time for a brand new challenge over at Southern Girls. This week the theme is 'punching above your weight' so we want to see you use those dies/ punches on your creations. We have two fabulous sponsors for this challenge OakPondCreations and Polkadoodles, so some lovely prizes on offer.
For my card I used the brilliant Edgar theRaven from Oakpond Creations. I coloured him with a mixture of copics and pencils, not too happy with the result but that's not Edgar's fault....I wanted him black and I think that's a bit beyond my skills -see I really am 'punching above my weight'!!! His eyes look a bit dodgy too, there's glossy accents on his monocle but it doesn't show in the photo just makes one eye look discoloured! I added various die cuts and punched musical notes, the sentiments are computer generated.
Here's the inside view!

It's only words...

Good morning...another Saturday dawns...and it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin'.  The theme this week is 'focus on the sentiment', so the main element of your creation should be a sentiment not an image!
My sentiment stamp is a Tim Holtz, framed with a simple die cut kraft frame. I've added some buttons, ribbon and lace and die cut poppies (love this die -so elegant!)
I hope you'll be inspired to join in, there are some beautiful sentiment stamps out there and this is a good chance to use one! Please click here to see the beautiful creations from my lovely teamies and to add your own lovely card for us to enjoy! Remember to stamp something!
Enjoy your weekend

Spring into colour!

Hello....I'm back again! It's all or nothing with me lately! This time my card is for the new challenge at Fab'n'Funky the theme is 'Spring into colour' chosen and hosted by my lovely teamie Annie. We're sponsored by the fabulous Stitchy Bear Stamps who generously allowed each of us to choose an image from their store....believe me there are a lot to choose from! Eventually I chose this cutie, BBkakes flower boy available here. He's coloured with copics, and die cut with a stitched circle die. The papers are Papermania . The diecut flowers are MB.
Team Funky have created some beautiful cards to inspire you this week....just click here to see what they've made! We would love to have you join us with your own colourful spring- inspired makes!

Spring sunshine

Good evening! Seems ages since I had time to blog a card...don't know where all the time goes! I don't even go to work anymore...too busy enjoying myself!!!:) I have spent quite a bit of time lately with my gorgeous granddaughters, and of course, my lovely Mum - much nicer than going to work!
I also spent a bit of time attempting to sort out some of my craft stuff, a kind of vague attempt at spring cleaning, but I kept finding stuff I'd forgotten about which distracted me....completely.
I found a pad of the most gorgeous papers by Heartfelt Creations so I stopped to make this card. I used just one of the sheets of paper, which is doublesided, cut 2 squares and a circle. I distressed the edges of the squares and layered them together and embossed the circle. The lovely East Wind image, is printed on kraft and coloured with pencils as I wanted a soft look for this design,
then part die cut and part fussy cut. I cut loads of the flowers from the remains of the paper and layered them to give some dimension. I just added a decorative corner, a sentiment tag (LOTV) and some faux stitching.

Might have another attempt at tidying later.....
Thank you for taking the time to visit....here's hoping your days are filled with sunshine!

A bit of doodling...

Hello my lovely blogger friends, just a quick post from me with the card I made for my little great niece. I've had this so sweet image from the East Wind for some time, I coloured her up ages ago whilst on holiday and forgot about her until my granddaughter, who was rifling through my stuff, found her and said that she looked like ' Frozen Elsa' - I think it's the hair! As you just can't go wrong with anything 'Frozen' where small girls are concerned these days I thought I'd use her for Daisy's card.
As I said the image was already coloured, so this was a real quick and easy make, I simply layered the image on top of several layers of white card, one of which I doodled the flowers randomly around the edge and coloured with copics to match the colours of the image. I added one tiny tag with a brad and a touch of diamond stickles.
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of Sunday and have a good week!

In the spring...

Good morning...yes I'm still harping on about spring....we've had lovely sunshine here, temperatures starting to rise a little and the garden's waking up! For this week's challenge at Sweet Stampin' the theme is 'green' - simples! Just include green and some stamping (digital image is fine!), how easy is that?
Personally I love green so I really enjoyed making this card! The cute image is a Mo Manning digi, which comes with the sentiment, She's coloured with copics, a tad of glossy accents on her wellies. Random snippets of green dp which I discovered in my (huge) drawer of 'leftovers'. The birds, fence and flower dies are all MB. The branch is stamped (using a magazine freebie) coloured with copics and fussy cut for those little birdies to perch on!
There's a fantastic prize of 4 digis to be won from this week's lovely sponsor -Flat Friends and I know you won' t want to miss the lovely creations made to inspire you this week, so click here to join the fun at Sweet Stampin'  this week.
Have a fab weekend!

Seeing stars!

Hi, I'm back again with my DT card for this weeks challenge at Fab 'n' Funky, this week we're asking for shaped cards. I started mine with a square card blank, arranged the die cut stars and then cut around the edges to get my random shape...it does stand up (which was a bit of a relief!). The cute image, Avi Starr-Wish Upon A Star , courtesy of Lacy Sunshine our fabulous sponsor this week, is printed on kraft cardstock and coloured with polychromos. Thanks for visiting my blog today, I hope you'll join us at Fab 'n'Funky for this fun challenge, there's loads of fab creations from team Funky to inspire you, just click here to take a look!
Have a lovely day!

Spring green

Good morning, hope the sun is shining wherever you are, there's definitely been a lot of sunshine with a promise of spring here lately! It's still cold but bright and sunny which is so much nicer than cold wet and miserable! Our challenge at Creative Moments this week is 'spring green', or anything goes.
To make my card I used the adorable Mouse--big-flower image from Bugaboo. The image is coloured with copics and I paper pieced the mouse. There's a touch of Wink of Stella on the dragonfly wings and petal tips and glossy accents on the ladybird, none of which show in the photo!. The daisy border die is Poppy Stamps and the sentiment stamp is a Verses rubber stamp. I added a button and a little wooden ladybird to finish.
We are sponsored by Bugaboo and Angie's Digi Stamps, so there are two lovely prizes to be won this fortnight. Why not pop over to Creative Moments to see the lovely creations from the rest of the team, hopefully you'll be tempted to join us!
Thanks for visiting
