A tangled sunset

Good morning,it's another cold one! Not really liking all this white stuff everywhere, but out voted  by granddaughters! They had a day off school yesterday...and are hoping for a repeat today...another day of sledding, snowball fights and snowman building! At least the kids enjoy it!
The new challenge starting today over at Fab N Funky has the fun theme of 'Mandalas and patterns' our lovely sponsor this time is Digistamps4Joy, with fab prize for our lucky winner.
I used this gorgeous background digi, Tangled sunset. I had several ideas of how to use this but in the end opted for the easiest! I coloured it with copics in 'sunset' colours, then used a black sparkle gel pen to colour the dots and stars etc. Using a die I cut out the circle, then mounted the image over the gold glitter card using foam to raise it slightly. I then adhered it to the black glitter  card. I die cut the sentiment twice, once in black glitter card and once in plain black card to strengthen it. It was so relaxing to colour this, I really enjoyed it.
My teamies have made some beautiful cards this week, so please hop over here and take a peek (...Oooh poetry too!!!:) then we'd love to have you play along with us.
Thanks for visiting.

February Rudolph Day!

Good afternoon, I'm sitting here quietly impressed with myself at having made a card in time for this month's Rudolph Day...so far so good this year (ok I know it's only February!).
This cat is definitely not impressed! I'm not a 'cat person', much prefer dogs but I do have to admit that cats are characters! This one does not enjoy looking ridiculous dressed up as a reindeer! It'a Whimsy stamp, coloured with copics, the sentiment came with the stamp...and says it all!
Papers are...sorry don't know (a loose pack of 6x6, have lost the cover bit!)
Thanks for visiting.
Have a lovely evening

...a hole in the bag!

Good morning, hope your week is going well so far. My card today is my DT creation for our new challenge at Creative Moments. The optional theme this time is 'Fairy Tales or wonderful stories. I was given this fabulous digi by Doctor Digi House of Stamps, one of our lovely sponsors for this challenge, it's the Mad Hatter !
The image is coloured with copics, fussy cut and mounted onto my background with foam pads. I had a great time making the background with Distress Oxide Inks! The marbles was a free image I found online, again coloured with copics and loads of glossy accents applied to them. The sentiment is stamped.
Please hop on over to Creative Moments for full information of our lovely sponsors, there are 3 for this challenge, and to enjoy the fabulous inspiration from my teamies.

Add a tag

Good morning and happy weekend! A quick post from me today (places to go ...people to see...) with my DT make for this week's challenge at Sweet Stampin'. I made a rocker card to showcase this cute stamp (ok yes, it's another new one...just couldn't resist him :) -it's Harry the Stuffie gets Happy Mail from Stamping Bella. I coloured with copics and die cut with a stitched circle die, layered it onto 2 more decorative circles and attached to the rocker base. I added a tiny LOTV tag stamp and a twine bow.
Please hop over here to see what my lovely teamies have been up to this week, then we'd love it if you tag along :)) please remember to use a stamp!

Monster fun!

Good morning, this is my DT card for our new challenge at Fab 'n 'Funky, it's a JFF week..no sponsors and no prizes, which is great fun for the team because we can choose which stamps we use! I do enjoy working with sponsor images but it is nice to use my own stamps!  The theme this week is 'babies, children or men', hmmm some might say there's not a lot of difference between them!
I used a Woodware stamp set, coloured my little monsters, glossied up their eyes and and fussy cut them, the Happy Birthday channel die is from Poppy stamps. A quick and easy card which I think would appeal to a little lad.
Thanks for calling by, hope you choose to play along.

Ribbons and braids

Hi, I've finally got around to finishing my entry for this month's challenge at Aurora Wings. I started colouring the beautiful image (available here) weeks ago, then put it aside as I knew I'd have plenty of time as it's a month long challenge... then life got a bit busy (mainly with granddaughters!) anyway, had a bit of time to play today so finished colouring and made my card. Not completely happy with it as it didn't look like this in my head, I think with hindsight that the background dp is too busy but definitely won't have time to make another! It isn't as dark as this IRL but very gloomy today!
Thanks for visiting, have a lovely evening.

Girly!

Hi, this week we're having a girly challenge at Sweet Stampin'...it's Team Abi's week but I decided to gatecrash the party! I went to a craft show last weekend and treated myself to a new stamp....or two (ok quite a few!). This little cutie is one of them, she comes in a set of 4, Rockabilly Gals by CC Designs, just so lovely to stamp and  colour! The circles were left over from another card so this circular card came together very quickly! When you have 3 granddaughters with loads of friends each you can't make too many girly cards!
Hope your weekend is going well, it's been a nasty, cold, windy and very wet day here, so tucked up indoors is the best place to be!
Please hop over to Sweet Stampin' and check out the inspiration from Team Abi, then it's up to you to create something girly and play along.

Enjoy the sunshine!

Good morning, here's my DT card for Creative Moments, the optional theme(s) this fortnight are 'weather' and/or add a sentiment.
Our four sponsors this time (yes, I did say 4!) are

I made a Z fold card using this gorgeous summery image from Besties...isn't she enjoying the lovely hot sunshine! I used my copics to colour the image. For the background 'sky' I coloured a piece of white cardstock with my lovely new  Distress Oxide Inks, adding a die cut scribbly circle to represent the sun. I added some die cut flowers and stamped the sentiment.
I couldn't get very good lighting for the photos...colours are much brighter IRL!

Please click here to see what the rest of the DT have created for your enjoyment , and of course to add your own fabulous project!

Have a great day

A thank you card

I'm back with my DT make for this week's challenge at Sweet Stampin'...the theme this time is 'anything but a birthday'.
This card wasn't at all what I had in mind when I set out to make it...but this is how it turned out! I used a set of floral stamps from Polkadoodles, Eleganza, stamped and masked a selection of them on the bottom right hand corner of my white cardstock, then coloured with copics. I die cut the sentiment several times from white card and the 'thank' once from the same dp as the mat, then layered them together and adhered them in place.
Hope you find the time to play along this week, just remember to stamp something on your project!
Thank you for visiting today
Have a lovely weekend

Spoil yourself silly

Good morning, it's the first Saturday of the month...that means it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Calendar. We have a lovely easy theme for you this month...'2 or more layers' and we're sponsored by the fabulous Dr Digi
I chose to use this fun image, Sofa so Good, it definitely bears a resemblance to my lovely Mathilda,  who often sleeps on her back with legs in the air (quite unladylike!) and who would loooove to lie on the sofa but is not allowed to! We're not being mean...a Great Dane takes up too much room and as they're an extremely affectionate breed and like to be close to you it's not at all comfortable for any human who wants to sit there. Eleven stone of dog on top of you is a bit too much! She does have her own memory foam bed in the lounge though!
I coloured the image with copics ( Cool greys to look like Mathilda who's a Blue!) fussy cut it and placed it on the paper pieced sofa. In hindsight I wish I'd chosen a less busy pattern as it makes my eyes go funny !). The sentiment is a Penny Black stamp.

Here's a piccy of Mathilda sleeping (in a more ladylike position!) with her cuddly toy! She's such a big baby!

Please take the time to hop over  to Crafty Calendar and see what my lovely teamies have been up to this month, and of course we'd love to see what you make of this month's challenge.
I'll be back shortly with another DT make.
