Joe Frost

Good morning, I'm here today with a Christmas card, my DT make for this week's challenge at Fab'n' Funky

Our very talented Pat K is in charge this week and the theme is Christmas.

I coloured up a cute Digi Doodles snowman, Joe Frost that I was lucky enough to win a few weeks ago. I made a tent fold cold and cut part of it away to add a bit of interest to the shape. I've added lots of sparkle to the snowman and icicles which unfortunately doesn't show up well in the photo. I've given him some embossed snowbanks to sit on and doodled some snowflakes (not very well) around the border with a sparkle pen. Tiny gems added to the doodling and die cut snowflake borders.

This is the inside before I added the gems

Today is our 48th Wedding Anniversary
We won't be going out for a lovely meal to celebrate!!!
but
my husband is going to cook his 'signature' dish of sea bass
(which is delicious!)
so at least I won't have to cook!

Thanks for visiting today

Birthday Gift Bag

It's Monday (I think!) Anything But A Card showtime at Catch the Bug!
Anything But a Card!

Stuck for ideas- (brain is on a go- slow just now!) I was browsing through Pinterest when I happened upon this cute bag- it looks exactly like a much loved  summer bag that I used to own . .
I didn't watch the video - just made up my own template and sizes, nowhere near as gorgeous as the originals but my friend was delighted with it (and the chocolates inside).
The cute tag and added flowers are Flower Tag 04, just printed the tag again in a larger size and fussy cut the 2 flowers to decorate the handle.

Thanks for visiting
have a good week.

Utterly distressed!!!

No, not me - the card! This week's challenge theme at Sweet Stampin' is 'distressing'- so distress inks, distressed edges and torn papers are just a few of the things we would like to see on your creations. As always, you can interpret this theme as you wish!
I thought I'd try for a shabby chic look, not something I'm comfortable with but it is meant to be challenging :))
The beautiful image is ADFD, heard a rumour that they might be reopening, so hope it's true. Colouring medium is Copics with a little DI splodged around the image! Distressed all the edges of the papers and  kraft card with a Tim Holtz distress tool thingy. Added die cuts and flowers, a little LOTV stamped tag and a few pearls.
I can honestly say that the Sweeties have produced some wonderful cards this week so why not HOP OVER and take a look. We'd love to see what you make of this challenge so hope to see you there!

Crafty Catz Challenge #503 - Optional Twist- Use a sentiment

Good morning, another week has passed and It's Friday again - time for a new challenge at Crafty Catz. I have to say that the weeks are still flying by even though our movements and activities are restricted! We have had some lovely sunny days with the promise of more to come- Which means at least those of us who are lucky enough to have one can get outside and enjoy our gardens. I managed to get some compost at the supermarket yesterday and I'm looking forward to planting on some of the teeny tiny little plugs we ordered online. They were so small when they arrived that you practically needed a microscope to see them, but they have grown and need more space now! I planted seeds too and am really enjoying watching them grow- quite a novelty for me as usually I sow them, lovingly water them ....and nothing happens!
Anyway back to the challenge, our lovely Janette is hosting this week and her chosen theme is 'use a sentiment'- as always this theme is optional.

We are also lucky to have a wonderful new sponsor

PRIZE
One free digital download from her Etsy shop and a 30% coupon for all items in her Etsy shop SherryWestArt.

The team were given some fabulous images to play with, we all love them!
I used the sweet Leila Ladybug 0687, so delightful to colour.
I kept my design very CAS just adding a stamped sentiment.
Why not hop over to Crafty Catz to see the beautiful cards my teamies have created using these pretty images, hopefully you'll be inspired to join in with our challenge this week.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope your weekend is good

Flowers are Happys on Sticks

Good morning, It's New Release day at Catch the Bug- this week's digi is a lovely cheerful flower trio.  It can be used for so many occasions and is quick and easy to colour. I made a very quick and simple card using bright and happy colours. I'm going to give it to my friend when I deliver her books and a bit of shopping on Thursday- she's been indoors for weeks now - she's in her eighties and her husband is on the high risk list so won't be going out for a while yet. She loves flowers and bright colours so hopefully will make her smile!

Thanks for visiting, keep safe and well.

Freebie Friday At Catch The Bug - Bug Bee 03

Hi, I'm back again with a quick post to remind you that it's Freebie Friday at

Freebie Every Friday!

This weeks digi is a delightful little bee, so hop over now to grab yours!

I used my copics to colour, bee papers from stash an embossed sentiment. I didn't have any black/yellow striped paper or card so I wrapped black ribbon around a rectangle of yellow cardstock to make the stripes.

Thanks for visiting today, have a good weekend.

Please scroll down for my earlier post today.

Crafty Catz #502- Optional twist- Paper piecing.

Good morning, this week's challenge at Crafty Catz starts today, the optional theme picked by Jac is 'paper-piecing' - a favourite theme of mine! I think this technique is quick and easy- and it looks so effective too! ur lovely sponsor this week is

The sweet image I used is called
I coloured her hair and face with copics and paper pieced her kimono and parasol with a long hoarded piece of dsp (Far East) from DCWV.

I don't think yesterday's announcement of another 3 weeks lockdown came as much of a surprise to anyone, just stay safe and well - and keep busy!

Seeing spots at Fab'n' Funky

Good morning, this week at Fab'n' Funky we're wanting to see spots or dots on your creations.
I recently bought this fun stamp from Art Impressions and now seemed like a good time to ink it up! The 'spray' from the extinguisher is a large rubber stamp, I cut out the panel and inserted the stamped section underneath- have no idea why I didn't just mask off a section! The sentiment came with the image...it made me laugh anyway!
Thanks for visiting today, hope you're all safe and well.

Mmm...cupcakes!

Hello, hope those of you in the UK are enjoying this wonderful weather we're experiencing this Easter weekend. I've been in the garden today, planting up some seeds (I definitely do not have green fingers so probably a waste of time and effort- but you never know!). Spent some time in the 'reading chair' too! which is why I'm a bit late with today's post.
Our new challenge at Sweet Stampin' has the fun theme of 'the great crafty bake-off'- basically we would like to see yummy food on your creations.
My first thought for this theme was CAKE! Been eating far too much of it since the lockdown...it will have to stop! I even did some baking, which I rarely do these days unless the granddaughters are visiting...
To make my card I used an adorable image from Mo Manning... this one was a Patreon freebie last month. So reminds me of my second granddaughter, Ruby when she was tiny- she had to be involved in whatever her big sister was doing even though the mixing bowl was bigger than she was!
I used various papers from stash, the cupcake one was a magazine freebie, some scraps of blue cardstock embossed with hearts, a couple of die cut banners and a stamped sentiment.
There's loads of inspiration for you over at Sweet Stampin', where my lovely team have been busy cooking up some gorgeous cards!
Why not play along this week- this kind of 'baking' is calorie free!
Thanks for stopping by
Stay safe and well and enjoy the rest of the weekend

Crafty Catz #501- Optional Twist - Colour Theme

Good morning, and Happy Easter- the roads will be a lot quieter than usual this Bank Holiday! At least the weather forecast is good so we should be able to enjoy some sunshine.
This week at Crafty Catz we have a lovely colour theme chosen by Ginny, I love it- it's so bright and beautiful.
Our fabulous sponsor this week is Bugaboo
BUGABOO
who generously provided the DT with some beautiful digis.

I made a  CAS card using Tulips and Bugs

Colouring medium is Copics, stamped sentiment was a magazine freebie.

We hope you have time to play along this week, remember Crafty Catz is an 'anything goes' Challenge Blog, you do not have to use the theme- unless you want to of course!

Thanks for visiting
Enjoy your day

Yippee... Another Birthday

Good morning, the sun is shining, the birds are singing and it's a wonderful spring day, we still have a lot to be thankful for!
This week's challenge at Fab'n' Funky starts today, the theme is 'birthdays' so no excuse not to play along! I'm sharing a card I made for a special friend, who is currently in self isolation along with his wife who has underlying health issues. He has a very dry sense of humour, loves a pint...I thought the wonderful Horace would cheer him up and put a smile on his face! It worked!
Thanks for visiting. have a happy day and enjoy the sunshine if you can.

I found one! New Release at Catch the Bug

Good afternoon, it's New Release Day at Catch the Bug and this week's cutie is an adorable bunny, so pleased with the egg she's found. I was a little bit sad whilst making this card, this will be the first year since Olivia was two that we haven't held an Easter Egg hunt for the girls- that's 11 years as Olivia's 13th birthday was 2 days ago! Oh well, at least they're safe and well and there's always next year- baby Charlotte will be old enough to join in by then!
Now why not hop on over to Bugaboo where you'll find loads of sweet images, perfect for spring and Easter makes- many at bargain prices!
Thanks for visiting, hope you and your loved one are keeping safe and well...and sane!

Crafty Calendar- April Challenge

Good morning, it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Calendar- who would have thought that our world and lives would change so much since the last challenge, I'm still finding it all a bit surreal!
However, I'm counting my blessings that my family and friends are all safe and well., so many people have not been so fortunate.

On to today's challenge, our wonderful sponsor this month is Sheepski Designs
and the theme is 'Add a Butterfly'.

I took the opportunity to use a beautiful image that I've had for ages, Butterfly Hair, I think this is the first Sheepski image I owned and it's certainly not the first time I've used it!
I used my copics to colour and made her a flaming red head! I kept the rest of the colours quite neutral to make her hair really stand out! The papers are from DCWV, Mariposa, very old and much treasured! I added a  delicate little die cut butterfly (Memory Box).
Thank you so much for visiting today,  hope you and your loved ones are safe and well, stay calm , stay at home and keep crafting.

Crafty Catz #500 - Optional Twist- One for the Girls

Good morning, this week's challenge at Crafty Catz begins today. It's hosted by Christine, the theme she has chosen for the DT is 'one for the girls'. Our sponsor this week is
Digi doodle studios
they have so many pretty girly images so a great choice Christine!

I made a circular card featuring a  sweet sponsor image, Mindy's New Boots, coloured with copics and fussy cut to sit upon the band across the card, papers are Bloom Beautiful (Craft Consortium) and are so beautiful IRL!
I added stamped sentiments, a die cut rose and a few Nuvo glitter drops to finish.
Loads more to see over at Crafty Catz, where, as usual , my lovely teamies have been busy creating some gorgeous card to inspire you!

I hope everyone is keeping safe and well .

April showers

Good morning, hope you're all safe and well, keeping busy and not going bonkers! All good here, family safe and well -we're keeping in touch on line and by phone so I know that I still have 4 granddaughters and  their 2 sets of parents surviving being at home together :) girls are all being very good so far!
I can always find plenty to do myself but must admit I'm finding it hard to concentrate on anything for very long so tending to start on something but not finish it, still I can always go back to things, like me they're not going anywhere!

This week's challenge at Fab'n' Funky begins today, I'm hosting this week and picked the theme of April Showers- or anything weather related is acceptable.
I used a sweet Stamping Bella stamp, which I've coloured with copics, dots added to her Mac with a white gel pen.  That cloud stencil was used again to make the background! Sentiment stamp came with the image. I don't have an umbrella die so I made a tiny umbrella from a cocktail stick and folded paper.
Thanks for visiting, hope you feel like playing along this week.
