Christmas cards!

Goood afternoon- it's  horrible, cold and damp here today- not what we expect at the end of May! I've given in and put the heating on for a while, Marvin is ecstatic! He's back from his second walk of the day and is sleeping blissfully by my feet, enjoying the warmth!
I'm woefully behind with my Christmas makes this year so thought I'd make a card to enter into some challenges and ended up making two- same design, dies and stamp, just swapped the colours around and altered the arrangement a bit :)

the dies are all TH apart from the circle which is Tonic Studios, these were quick to put together once I'd finished cutting with the dies.

Emily is eight!

This week's challenge at Crafty Catz is sponsored by The Paper Shelter, I used one of their fabulous digis to create this card for my granddaughter. I'm disappointed with the photo as the '8' is actually a pale greyish blue and looks a lot nicer than it does here but too late to try taking another photo as Em's bithday was at the beginning of May. The cute digi is 99 messages, 3 chats... which I've coloured with Copic markers and fussy cut to sit on the hand- cut '8' . the sentiments are die cut and layerd up for dimension. Em loved her card- she would also love to have a mobile phone but her parents are far too sensible to give one to a child her age who doesn't  need one! She'll have to wait until she's at 'big school' I'm happy to say! This card fits the optional twist this week - 'All about the girls' picked by Sue, our lovely host for this challenge. Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great weekend,

Chris

Anything but square at Fab'n'Funky Challenges

Good morning,  this is my DT make for our new challenge at Fab'n' Funky, the theme for this fortnight is 'Anything but square'. I made a twisted easel card , a simple fold that looks quite impressive! the tropical print DP  was a magazine freebie, the glass shape is quite large, I used a Dutch Doobadoo template, coloured the straw and lime slice with Copic markers and paperpieced the main body of the glass and the little parasol. The sentiments are stamps of various different brands.

There's more inspiration from my teamies over at Fab'n' Funky, so please do pop over for a look, then why not join in- we'd love to have you play along.

Think pink...

Good morning, Friday has crept up on us once again- time for a new
 Anything Goes challenge
 at Crafty Catz
This week we are sponsored by the fabulous
Janet is hosting and has picked the theme 'use some pink' for the DT to follow.

The DT were given some lovely images to play with, I used Fairy Tale Hope, a whimsical little sprite, sitting on a flower, looking thoughtful- I think she's planning some mischief!. She's coloured with copic markers- lots of glitter on her wings, die cut with an oval nesting die, matted onto a slightly larger black oval. The papers are from Polkadoodles, die cut cone flowers, a die I've had for years and rediscovered when looking for something else, and some black gems.

Weather has been too nice to be indoors much this week, so not a lot of crafting going on here- but I have managed loads of reading, fast running out of books so a trip to the library planned for tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by- have a lovely weekend, hope the weather is good!

Rock on!

Good morning, my card today is my DT make for this week's challenge at Crafty Catz which is sponsored this week by the fabulous DR DIGI, our lovely Ginny is hosting and the optional twist, for anyone who wishes to use it, is 'Masculine'.

I used the super- cool Davey Dunderton, coloured him with Copics and fussy cut him, he's popped up on foam onto the background panel I created using Distress Inks and brushos, a splat stamp  and shimmery gold paint through a stencil. I added a few tiny gold stars and a stamped sentiment.

Pop over to Crafty Catz for more inspiration then why not join in this week? You could be the lucky winner of some of these fabulous digis!

Thanks for visiting, have a great weekend

Fantasy at Fab'n' Funky

Good morning, once again 2 weeks have just flown by and it's time for a new challenge at
this week it's our lovely Pat hosting and she's chosen the theme of 'Fantasy'- gnomes, elves, fairies, dragons etc- there's a lot of possibilites here.

I went for the fairy option using a beautiful digi from Ching-Chou Kuik, Butterfly Magic, a beautiful fairy, lost in a magical book. Image is coloured with Copics, touches of glitter and Wink of Stella on her wings and the butterflies. I kept the design simple, using torn edge layering dies and matting the image onto DP that has a lovely shimmer. The sentiment is stamped onto a small tag and attached with a couple of flowers.

Please stop by the Challenge blog for more inspiration from my lovely teamies, hopefully you'll be tempted to join in this fortnight!

I've added a few die cut cogs and a couple of stamped sentiments (also Tim Holtz).

Believe

Good morning, I'm keeping it short and sweet today as I've two DT makes to share and a busy day ahead! It's Emily's birthday tomorrow and we've a family party arranged today- can't be tomorrow as she has another party to go to- oh for the social life of an eight year old! This fortnight at Sweet Stampin' the challenge is to use bookprint, music or maps on your creation. For me, a no-brainer as books are so important in my life! I decided to create a journal page for a change and this is what I came up with- torn book page, digital image I've had for years, coloured with Copics, I think it's Crafts and Me-sadly  long gone! Inks, stencil and some Lavinia stamps and a die cut to try to disguise the messy stamping in the top right hand corner!  Apart from the bodged stamping I like the way it came out! Please take a look at the challenge blog to see what the rest of the Sweeties have made, some brilliant ideas HERE

I'll be back very soon!

Little Dude

Good morning, it's Friday again so it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Catz, this week it's my turn to host which means I get to choose the twist for the DT to use, which is

A hand -coloured image...nice and easy, especially as this week we're sponsored by

PRIZE 2 IMAGES OF WINNERS CHOICE
https://www.etsy.com/shop/alldressedupstamps
these cute images are so lovely to colour.
I used Dude- he's such a little sweetie, annd coloured him in my favourite combo of blues and browns. It's a simple layered design with various papers from stash matted onto black card, a die cut and some star shaped brads plus a stamped sentiment.
My lovely teamies have made some gorgeous cards with these adorable images so do hop over for a look.
Remember, anything goes if you choose to play along- the theme is optional.

Thank you for all your good wishes for our 50th Anniversary, we had a wonderful weekend in York, lovely hotel, great weather and York is such a beautiful city- so much to see and do.
Marvin was very good for his babysitter- she wasn't too impressed with his
6am start...but apart from that he was no trouble and kept her entertained with his playfulness- she even finds his kleptomania amusing! You soon learn to put things out of his reach and keep doors and cupboards closed when he's on the prowl!
This is him enjoying our walk on Tuesday- such a happy boy!
Thanks for visiting
enjoy your weekend

Guest Design for Mirtillamente

Good morning,  I was lucky enough to win a recent challenge at Mirtillamente- not only did I get to choose some fabulous digis and papers but was also invited by lovely Eve to be a Special Guest Designer for this month. The challenges are 'anything goes' - you can use whatever images you choose.

The image I've used is --So'Getta Steampunk Gears- isn't she fabulous! The digi comes with 2 versions- with or without the cogs and gears. I used the one without as I wanted to team it with some beautiful Stamperia papers and a die cut with numbers cogs and gears. The image is coloured with copics (lovely to colour up!), fussy cut and placed on  top of my layered papers and die. I added some metal cogs and a piece of jewellery wire with some beads recycled from an old necklace. I made a tag/bookmark as I'm keeping this for myself- it will replace the one that Marvin has just eaten!

Please do hop over to Mirtillamente Challenge Blog and check out the lovely makes from the DT- I hope you'll be inspired to play along.
