New Beginnings at Fab'n'Funky

Good morning, it's time for this week's challenge at Fab'n'Funky, the theme is 'new beginnings' so new home, new job, new baby etc.
I went with the new baby idea... I'm to be a grandma again later in the year so the theme is dear to my heart at present! I'll definitely have to hedge my bets though and make a girly card too!
Apart from the 'new baby' theme everything on this card is old...the image is a LOTV digistamp, the papers and buttons are years old as is the embossing folder I used! The 'baby' stickers I found in the bottom of a box of chipboard shapes (also old, never think of using them these days!) and the congratulations stamp is part of a clear set of baby stamps that are so old they've gone a bit sticky!

The sketch I followed is new though...you can find it here at Cheerful Sketch Challenges.
we hope you choose to play along this week and show us your 'new beginnings', click here to hop over to Fab n Funky, there's some wonderful creations from my lovely teamies for you to enjoy!
Thanks for stopping by, I'll be back later today!

Make it flowery at Crafty Calendar

Hi, back again with my DT make for Crafty Calendar. This month's theme is 'make it flowery' -
sponsored by SheepSki Designs.

I chose to use the beautiful Peonies digital stamp, courtesy of our lovely sponsor.
I printed the image onto cream pearlised cardstock and coloured it with copics...the ink reacted differently to how it does on ordinary cardstock, but I quite like the effect, it changes colour with the light as you move it.
I made a card base with the same pearlised card and layered another embossed panel onto dark red card, finished with a ribbon, die cut sentiment and a die cut tag.
There are lots of flowery beauties created by my lovely teamies over at Crafty Calendar, so come on over and feast your eyes.
We all love flowers so hope you choose to play along and inspire us with your lovely creations.

Spots and Dots at Sweet Stampin'

Good morning, it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin', the theme this week is 'spots and dots'. I took the opportunity to ink up a sweet little stamp I bought at a craft show in November...unfortunately I picked up the wrong inkpad and stamped it in light grey ink instead of black. I decided to try colouring it anyway aiming for a 'no lines' effect...hmmmm not sure! I paper pieced her dress and hairband. A tent fold card base and a simple layered design using die cuts, a button and a stamped sentiment.
Thanks for visiting, hope you choose to play along this week.

Crafty Catz Challenge #443

Good morning, the Crafty Catz are back with our first challenge this year, as always it's 'anything goes' with an optional twist, and this week we're sponsored by Little Blue Button Stamps.  This week our hostess is our lovely Aunty Sue who chose the twist of 'Food and Drink'
The DT were given some beautiful images to play with and I chose to use this little sweetie, Dream Charlie, she looks so peaceful daydreaming over her lovely cup of coffee! I used my copics to colour and paper pieced the table cloth. The background take-away coffee cup and stenciled coffee beans are part of a set of magazine freebies...perfect with this image!
As always there's plenty of inspiration from my lovely teamies over at Crafty Catz, so please hop over and take a peek and don't forget to add your own lovely entry!
Thanks for visiting, enjoy the weekend

Happy New Year!

Good morning, first of all I'd like to wish everyone a very happy and healthy 2019...let's hope the coming year will be a good one!
It seems like ages since I've posted anything on my blog...came down with what I thought was a nasty cold during the run up to Christmas ended up with full blown 'flu...aches and pains, dizziness, the lot! Of course my husband caught it too, he spent most of Christmas in bed.
It wasn't all bad though, we did see all of our lovely family, they braved the coughs and sneezes :)) to be with us.
and I had the most exciting surprise...I'm going to be a grandmother again in July!!!!
I am over the moon!

Anyway...my card today is for our new challenge at Fab'n'Funky   the challenge theme this week is to recycle a Christmas card. I think it's a great idea, so many cards are much too beautiful to throw away so why not reuse them?
I combined these two lovely cards to make mine:-

Apologies for photos...daylight is not good at the moment!

I made a shaped card blank and covered it with the background paper from the deer card (the deer and trees were popped up in front, difficult to photograph) then I  used a circle die to cut the main image from the top card, which I adhered to the centre. I used one of the trees with deer and rabbit,  popped it up on foam dots to the left of the circle. I added the die cut snowflakes and a stamped sentiment to finish. It was easy ...and quick. A card for Christmas 2019 already!
Thank you for stopping by today, hope you're tempted to play along with this fun challenge...for more inspiration from my lovely teamies please hop over and check out the Challenge Blog.
Have a great day
